本发明属于耐火材料的生产技术领域,涉及一种高纯度电熔氧化镁砂的生产方法,采用高纯氧化镁作为熔料,进行高温电弧熔化,控制电极与熔料面不接触,高温电弧熔化后自然冷却形成晶体熔块,经破碎形成粒度砂,高温电弧熔化温度为3200~3400℃,电极与熔料面的距离为:0cm<距离≤2cm。本发明采用电弧为长弧操作,避免电极与氧化镁接触,获得致密结晶体的同时避免了碳的引入,生产的氧化镁纯度高,MgO质量含量≥99%,气孔率低,体积密度高,采用本发明生产的产品具有纯度高,结晶粒大,结构致密,抗渣性强材料,热震稳定性好,高温绝缘性好,是一种优良的高温电气绝缘材料,也是制作高档镁砖,镁碳砖及不定形耐火材料的重要原料。

技术领域
本发明属于耐火材料的生产技术领域,涉及一种高纯度电熔氧化镁砂的生产方法。
背景技术
目前,国内生产高纯度电熔氧化镁砂的主要技术现状为:采用天然菱镁矿石或高纯轻烧镁颗粒,在窑炉中高温烧结制得,所得产品MgO质量含量≤98%,杂质含量高,颜色多是黄色或褐黄色,达不到MgO质量含量≥99%,颜色为白色透明的要求。
电熔氧化镁砂同烧结镁砂相比,具有以下特点:
(1)气孔率低,小于2%;孔的周围是极致密的材料,可防止渣的侵入。
(2)体积密度高,大于3.6g/cm3
(3)机械强度高,具有较高的高温强度及耐磨度。
(4)高温体积稳定性好(电熔材料具有重烧收缩小和高温蠕变小的特点)。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于提供一种高纯度电熔氧化镁砂的生产方法,采用电熔法生产,避免电极与氧化镁发生快速化学反应,能够得到高纯度的氧化镁产品。
本发明的技术方案为:采用高纯氧化镁作为熔料,进行高温电弧熔化,控制电极与熔料面不接触,高温电弧熔化后自然冷却形成晶体熔块,经破碎形成粒度砂,高温电弧熔化温度为3200~3400℃,电极与熔料面的距离为:0cm<距离≤2cm。
所述高纯氧化镁的氧化镁质量含量≥99.5%。
所述熔料采用逐步加料进行熔化,控制电极电压为100~130伏,电流为200~2000安。
采用电弧为长弧操作,控制电弧与熔料面保持一定距离,避免电极与氧化镁接触达到熔化目的,获得致密结晶体,同时避免了碳的引入。
所述的晶体熔块为低碳白色透明晶体状熔块。
高温熔炼的温度大于氧化镁的熔点即可,为了更好地进行熔化,氧化镁原料可参照普通电熔方法分批加入电弧炉中(逐步加料),优选地操作条件为:二次电压(电极电压)100~130伏,电流为200~2000安。熔液保持大于3400℃保温20分钟,然后再加料、再加温、再保温,多次重复,直至得到需要尺寸的熔块。
本发明具有以下特点:
1、在高温熔炼时,电极不插入熔料中,避免了电极污染和碳的引入,同时避免电极与氧化镁发生快速化学反应;利用本发明提供的方法生产的电熔氧化镁砂纯度高,MgO质量含量≥99%,熔点≥2800℃。
2、本发明生产的电熔氧化镁砂纯度高,化学稳定性高,是一种优良的高温电气绝缘材料,也是制作高档镁砖,镁碳砖及不定形耐火材料的重要原料。
3、利用本发明得到的高纯度的氧化镁原料可以生产高纯度的氧化镁制品,满足不同用途的使用。
本发明的有益效果如下:
本发明提供的高纯度电熔氧化镁砂的生产方法,在高温熔炼时,电极不插入熔料中,避免了电极污染,同时避免电极与氧化镁发生快速化学反应;利用本发明方法生产的电熔氧化镁砂纯度高,熔点高,MgO质量含量≥99%,熔点≥2800℃。
具体实施方式
下面结合实施例对本发明作进一步描述。
实施例中所得熔块的尺寸可以根据需要确定,将熔块破碎为不同的粒度砂或粉时,通过封闭式机械破碎方法破碎,此方法避免了其它杂质的引入,最后经常规方法(除铁器)除铁,水洗形成待用成品砂或粉。
实施例1
采用高纯氧化镁(MgO质量含量≥99.5%)为原料,将高纯氧化镁100%重量份制成炉料。将炉料分批投入三相电弧炉中进行熔炼,控制电极提升保持长弧,电极与熔料面的距离为1cm,熔料在3400℃逐步加料,二次电压(电极电压)为100伏,电流为1200安,熔液再保温1小时(保温电流200安)。然后再加料、再加温、再保温,多次重复上述过程,直至得到直径约500mm熔块。将熔块破碎为砂,经常规方法(除铁器)除铁,水洗形成待用成品砂。
氧化镁成品砂纯度高,MgO质量含量为99.8%,气孔率为1.2%,体积密度为3.9g/cm3
实施例2
采用高纯氧化镁(MgO质量含量≥99.5%)为原料,将高纯氧化镁100%重量份制成炉料。将炉料分批投入三相电弧炉中进行熔炼,控制电极提升保持长弧,电极与熔料面的距离为0.5cm,熔料在3200℃逐步加料,二次电压(电极电压)为130伏,电流为200安,熔液再保温1小时(保温电流200安)。然后再加料、再加温、再保温,多次重复上述过程,直至得到直径约500mm熔块。将熔块破碎为砂,经常规方法(除铁器)除铁,水洗形成待用成品砂。
氧化镁成品砂纯度高,MgO质量含量为99.5%,气孔率为1.5%,体积密度为4.1g/cm3
实施例3
采用高纯氧化镁(MgO质量含量≥99.5%)为原料,将高纯氧化镁100%重量份制成炉料。将炉料分批投入三相电弧炉中进行熔炼,控制电极提升保持长弧,电极与熔料面的距离为2cm,熔料在3300℃逐步加料,二次电压(电极电压)为115伏,电流为2000安,熔液再保温1小时(保温电流200安)。然后再加料、再加温、再保温,多次重复上述过程,直至得到直径约500mm熔块。将熔块破碎为砂,经常规方法(除铁器)除铁,水洗形成待用成品砂。
氧化镁成品砂纯度高,MgO质量含量为99.7%,气孔率为1.8%,体积密度为3.8g/cm3

1.一种高纯度电熔氧化镁砂的生产方法,其特征在于:采用高纯氧化镁作为熔料,进行高温电弧熔化,控制电极与熔料面不接触,高温电弧熔化后自然冷却形成晶体熔块,经破碎形成粒度砂,高温电弧熔化温度为3200~3400℃,电极与熔料面的距离为:0cm<距离≤2cm;所述高纯氧化镁的氧化镁质量含量≥99.5%;所述熔料采用逐步加料进行熔化,控制电极电压为100~130伏,电流为200~2000安。
