Abstract
本发明描述了一种键区及其制造方法。在一个实施例中,提供了一种键区,其包括:基底,所述基底具有多个圆环形凹槽,所述圆环形凹槽位于用于输入使用者信息的每个按钮部位处;多个衬垫,每个衬垫填充有不可压缩的流体(例如,水);柔性电路层;多个金属隔膜;以及包覆成型的热塑性弹性体层。在热塑性弹性体层的包覆成型过程中,填充有不可压缩的流体的所述多个衬垫阻止所述柔性电路层与所述多个金属隔膜之间的空间塌陷。在所述键区的层被装配之后,所述不可压缩的流体被去除,从而在所述柔性电路层和所述多个金属隔膜之间留下空间。
Description
技术领域
本发明主要涉及键盘,更具体地讲,本发明涉及包覆成型的键盘及其制造方法。
背景技术
通常,电子装置可使用键区(keypad)来将信息输入到所述装置中。利用键区的电子装置的实例包括蜂窝电话、电话、个人数据助理、计算机、迷你计算机、传真机和手持医疗装置(例如,血糖仪和药物注入泵)。通常,用于这些电子装置的键区包括电路板、框架或基底以及安装在所述框架上的孔中的一组键开关。当键开关被点按时,键开关和电路板之间的空间关闭并且与电路板的接触被触发,使得电路板输出对应的电信号。
在键开关的元件与框架或基底之间可存在间隙,允许外部环境污染物(例如,水或洗手液)进入到键区组件的内部,这会对键区的性能造成不利影响。包覆成型工艺通常用于密封可存在于键开关的元件与框架之间的间隙。然而,在包覆成型工艺过程中,包覆成型的材料可能对键开关的元件施加足够的压力使得键开关与电路板之间的空间变平,从而键区将不能工作。另外,键区中所使用的粘合到基底上的材料(例如,含硅树脂的材料)有时不会完全附着到塑性框架上,这会允许外部污染物进入键区组件。
因此,申请人认识到,需要一种在包覆成型工艺过程中保持键开关(开关腔)与电路板之间的空间的制造方法。申请人还认识到,需要一种将在键区元件与框架或基底上方形成紧密密封的包覆成型的层材料。

具体实施方式
图1A至图1C示出根据本发明示例性实施例的键区100。键区100包括多个开关组件102,每个开关组件102位于用于输入使用者信息的按钮104的部位处。每个开关组件102包括:基底106,所述基底106具有圆环形凹槽108(如图2所示),衬垫110附着于所述圆环形凹槽108中;柔性电路层112,设置在所有的衬垫110上;多个金属隔膜114,至少部分地附着到柔性电路层112;以及包覆成型的热塑性弹性体层116,设置在所述多个金属隔膜114上。包覆成型的热塑性弹性体层116还周向连续地设置在基底106上。
图1B:基底106包括多个成形销(swage pin)117,每个成形销与柔性电路层112中的开口118接合。基底106可由耐用塑性材料(例如,聚碳酸酯)形成。
所述多个衬垫110的每个可由弹性体聚合材料,例如,热塑性氨基甲酸乙酯或橡胶材料形成。所述多个衬垫110的每个可填充有不可压缩的液体(例如,水),所述液体在键区100的模制之后立即被去除,这将在下面参照图7至图8进行描述。
参照图3,柔性电路层112包括第一表面119,所述第一表面119具有多个键圆顶120,每个键圆顶120具有至少两个导电性区域122和多个孔124,所述多个孔124有利于键圆顶120在模制过程中柔性地形成。键圆顶120可弯曲的距离通常为约0.5毫米或0.02英寸。
如图4和图5所示,柔性电路层112还包括第二表面126,所述第二表面126具有多个导电性迹线128和安装到基底106的狭槽131(图2)中的柔性凸块130。所述多个导电性迹线128的每个通过馈点132(仅形象化地示出)电连接到柔性电路层112的第一表面119上的导电性区域122。凸块130将柔性电路层112电互连到装置,以受键区100控制。柔性电路层112可由可变形的塑性材料(例如,Mylar)形成。导电性区域122和迹线128可由碳、银、金、铜、黄铜、铝或其他合适的导电材料形成。导电性区域122和迹线128可利用本领域技术人员公知的技术沉积到柔性电路层112上,所述技术为例如(但不限于)光蚀刻、电镀或利用粘合剂将导电材料(例如,金属薄片)附着到基底上。
所述多个金属隔膜114的每个是通常用在键区设计中以最大化击键反馈的市售的薄钢圆片(来自Snaptron公司)。
根据偏好和键区设计,包覆成型的层116可由弹性体聚合材料形成,例如:MP-2730热塑性弹性体(来自Teknor Apex Company,RI,USA),其硬度为约30肖氏硬度A;和245(来自BayerMaterial Science AG,Germany),其硬度为45肖氏硬度D。
本发明的键区100可用在多种电或电子装置中,所述电子装置包括(但不限于)蜂窝电话、电话、个人数据助理、计算机、迷你计算机、传真机和手持医疗装置(例如,血糖仪和药物注入泵)。图6中示出了可包含本发明的键区的药物注入泵150(例如,胰岛素泵)的示例性实施例。药物注入泵150包括壳体152、用于给使用者提供操作信息的显示器154、用于使用者输入信息的具有多个导航按钮158的键区156、位于隔室(未显示)中具有顶盖160的用于给药物注入泵150提供电力的电池、处理电子器件(未显示)、用于从室中的药筒将药物推动经过连接到注入装置(未显示)的侧部端口162进入使用者体内的药物输注机构(例如,胰岛素泵和驱动机构,未显示)。
图7是示出根据本发明示例性实施例的用于形成键区的方法200的流程图。如步骤210中所示,方法200包括提供:基底106,所述基底106具有多个圆环形凹槽108,所述圆环形凹槽108位于用于输入使用者信息的每个按钮104部位处;各自填充有不可压缩的流体(例如,水)的多个衬垫110;柔性电路层112;多个金属隔膜114;以及热塑性弹性体层116。
所讨论的方法的下一步骤包括如下形成多个开关组件102:将衬垫110附着到基底106中的所述多个圆环形凹槽108的每个上,将柔性电路层112放置在所有衬垫110上方,将柔性电路层112中的每个开口118与基底106上的销117接合,将所述多个金属隔膜114至少部分地附着到柔性电路层112上,并将基底106上的所述多个销117成形到所述多个开关组件102上(参照步骤220)。可使用例如Mylar粘合带,将每个衬垫110附着到基底106中的凹槽108上,将所述多个金属隔膜114至少部分地附着到柔性电路层112上。
如步骤230中所示,随后,在所述多个开关组件102以及基底106的周向连续的部分上方包覆成型热塑性弹性体层116,从而形成键区100(见图8)。在包覆成型工艺过程中,热塑性弹性体层116与基底106的周向连续的部分粘合,从而在所述多个开关组件102上方形成密封。注模工艺(例如,嵌件成型或双组分包覆成型)可用于在所述多个开关组件102上方形成热塑性弹性体层116。
在所讨论的方法的最后一个步骤中,通过(例如)穿刺每个衬垫110来形成孔(未示出)以从每个衬垫110去除所述不可压缩的流体,从而在所述多个金属隔膜114的每个与柔性电路层112之间形成空间170(见步骤240和图1C)。当键被按下时,穿刺到每个衬垫110中的所述孔用作排气孔。

Claims (6)
1.一种形成键区的方法,所述方法包括:
提供:
基底,所述基底具有多个圆环形凹槽,所述圆环形凹槽位于用于输入使用者信息的每个键按钮部位处;
各自填充有不可压缩的流体的多个聚合物衬垫;
柔性电路层;
多个金属隔膜;
多个塑性粘合剂层;以及
热塑性弹性体层;
通过以下步骤形成多个开关组件:
将衬垫附着到所述多个圆环形凹槽的每个上;
将柔性电路层放置在所有所述衬垫上方;
将所述多个金属隔膜附着到所述柔性电路层上;以及
将所述多个开关组件成形到所述基底上;
在所述多个开关组件上方包覆成型所述热塑性弹性体层,以形成键区;以及
通过去除所述不可压缩的流体来使每个衬垫收缩,使得在所述多个金属隔膜的每个与所述柔性电路层之间形成腔。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述不可压缩的流体是水。
3.一种键区,包括:
基底,所述基底具有多个圆环形凹槽,所述圆环形凹槽位于用于输入使用者信息的每个按钮部位处;
形成在所述基底上的多个开关组件,其包括:
附着到所述凹槽中的衬垫;
在所述衬垫上的柔性电路层;
附着到所述柔性电路层的多个金属隔膜;以及
包覆成型在所述多个开关组件上方的热塑性弹性体层。
4.根据权利要求3所述的键区,其中所述热塑性弹性体是热塑性氨基甲酸乙酯。
5.根据权利要求4所述的键区,其中所述热塑性氨基甲酸乙酯是TEXIN 245。
6.根据权利要求3所述的键区,其中所述塑性层由Mylar形成。
