Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及一种电子装置,该电子装置包括具有前表面和后表面的柔性显示器。
背景技术
从WO 2004/047059中可得知如在首段中所阐述的电子装置的一个实施例。已知的电子装置包括为便于存储的目的而构思成卷绕在适当的辊子周围的柔性显示器。已知的电子装置包括用于阻止对柔性显示器的前表面和后表面的机械损坏和/或刮擦的装置。为了这个目的,已知的电子装置布置有与柔性显示器的后表面相配合的刚性条。这些刚性条被布置成用作隔离物,当存储柔性显示器时其防止后表面接触前表面。为了防止柔性显示器的后表面被隔离物条(spacer bar)损坏,在隔离物条与已知显示器的后表面之间设置有一层柔性材料。已知的柔性材料可以与柔性显示器结合在一起,或者可以宽松地设置在柔性显示器的后表面与隔离物条之间的区域内。
已知电子装置的缺点在于,通常由脆弱材料制成的柔性显示器可能会被例如手指或笔等适当的指示物损坏,尤其在与隔离物条相重合的区域损坏。此外,隔离物条使得柔性显示器产生较小的弯曲半径,这可能对形成柔性显示器的多层结构造成损坏。
发明内容
本发明的目的是提供一种布置有柔性显示器的电子装置,在该电子装置中显示器的区域被有效地保护免于出现压痕。
为了这个目的,在根据本发明的电子装置中,后表面设置有用于分散施加到前表面的外部压力的弹性材料粘附层。
本发明的技术措施基于以下领悟而做出,即,由多个层构成的薄的柔性显示器当处于坚硬的基座上时对局部压力非常敏感。例如,当柔性显示器的一部分位于基本为刚性的外壳内或该刚性外壳旁边时,由于刚性外壳有目的地不具有任何自由度(例如随着外力的施加而弯曲)这个事实,可能导致柔性显示器的材料的不期望的损坏。因此,根据本发明,有利的是,对于位于外壳内或外壳旁边的柔性显示器的一部分,使弹性材料层粘附至所述部分的面向外壳的表面。用这种方式,将弹性材料层设置在柔性显示器与刚性外壳之间,该弹性材料层充当用于分散施加到柔性显示器的任何压力的适当衬垫。
可替换地,当柔性显示器位于刚性表面(如桌子)上时,以及当用物体(如铅笔等)将压力施加到柔性显示器时,很容易引发凹痕损坏。此外,颗粒可能落在展开的显示器上。当显示器被卷起时,这些颗粒可能被压到显示器中并且造成损坏。通过设置粘附至显示器后表面的弹性材料,显示器中的弹性能的量不会受到影响,从而在被施以外力时,提供相对于位移的适当自由度。优选地,柔性显示器的一个平面基本上包括对应于弯曲期间的最小机械应力的中性线(neutral line,中线)。将参照图1更加详细地讨论柔性显示器对于外力的施加的反应。因此,通过在柔性显示器的后表面处增加弹性材料(如橡胶或泡沫)层,改善了相对于抵抗局部压力的显示器性能,换句话说,可以用相同的尖状物施加更高的压力而不致引起损坏。如果基座允许,那么压痕力会被分散在更大的体积上。具体地,在柔性显示器的显示作用层(display effect layer)是以电泳胶囊为基础的情况下,避免了由于胶囊的破碎而发生的显示器性能的不期望的退化。
在根据本发明的电子装置的实施例中,前表面包括工作区域(active area,有源区域)和非工作区域,弹性材料粘附至非工作区域。
该特征基于以下理解,即,非工作区域(特别是非发光区域)设置在柔性显示器上,所述区域通常位于显示区域的边缘部分处并且用于提供电导线以便为显示器的工作区域(特别是发光区域)供电。导线的损坏引起显示器内的线路故障。为保护电子装置免于在柔性显示器内出现线路故障,用弹性材料保护包含导线的边缘部分。优选地,弹性材料选择为与用于保护显示器的后表面相同的材料。这对于电泳显示器具有额外的优点。应当注意的是,在非工作区域中也可以发生电泳工艺。这导致了非工作区域的非有限小的发光。通过用优选不透明的保护性(特别是弹性)材料覆盖这些区域,可以减轻这种附加(parasitic)发光。在根据本发明的电子装置的优选实施例中,柔性显示器包括边缘部分,该边缘部分夹在弹性材料之间。优选地,弹性材料包括泡沫层或橡胶层。
将参照附图进一步详细地讨论本发明的这些或其他方面。

具体实施方式
图1示出了关于泡沫和橡胶的力-位移曲线的示意性曲线图。该曲线图说明了泡沫层优于橡胶层。曲线图10示意性示出了相对于所施加的力(纵坐标)的位移(横坐标)。曲线(a)与泡沫有关,曲线(b)与橡胶材料有关。从对区域1、2和3的分析得出以下结论:当打算用泡沫时,力基本上随着位移线性地增加。用以构建泡沫的泡壁用作支撑件。在区域2中,这种支撑件开始崩塌。因此,在所施加的外力没有进一步增加的情况下,压痕深度增加了。在这个阶段,所使用的尖状物与泡沫的接触表面增加了。这意味着减小了局部所施加的压力,并且因而减小了在损坏时的变化。在区域3中,泡沫材料的泡壁完全挤压在一起。在泡中不再存在空气。现在泡沫的压痕与用以制成泡的纯材料的压痕完全相同。橡胶材料的力-位移曲线(b)示出了线性特征。不存在三个不同的区域,这意味着将更快到达产生损坏的临界力L。
图2示出了设置有一层弹性材料的柔性显示器的实施例的示意图。电子装置20(特别是监视器、便携式计算机、电话等等)包括柔性显示器23,该柔性显示器例如可以卷绕在存储外壳22中的适当辊子(未示出)的周围。该柔性显示器还可以包裹在适当电子装置的外壳周围。应当理解的是,图2的视图示出了装置的后视图。优选地,柔性显示器23基于电泳技术运行。这种装置的前表面设置为发光的。柔性显示器23的后表面设置有一层弹性材料24,其粘附至显示器的后表面。使弹性材料的厚度最优化,一方面为了提供对外部压力的足够抵抗力,另一方面确保显示器的最弱层的平面基本上与中性线重合。显示器的最弱层将被看作是最易由于弯曲而导致损坏的结构。通常,包括电子器件或显示作用层的层被看作是这种最弱层。此外,可以将弹性材料24的弹性模量最优化以提高弹性材料24的压力分散特性。中性线被定义为弯曲期间的最小机械应力线。此外,显示器的后表面被保护而免受刮擦、颗粒的刻印以及来自周围环境的不期望的紫外线辐射。利用粘合剂连接显示器与弹性材料层24防止了较小颗粒进入层24与显示器的后表面之间的区域。因此,通过提供粘附至柔性(特别是柔性显示器)后表面的弹性材料,能更好地保护柔性显示器免受局部压力和压痕的影响,以及免受不期望的UV光的影响。优选地,泡沫选作弹性层24并且胶合至显示器。
图3示出了设置有一层弹性材料的柔性显示器的另一个实施例的示意图。在视图30a中,为清晰起见,仅示意性示出了柔性显示器。视图30a示出了设置有弹性材料的边缘保护层的显示区域37的前部,所述边缘保护层特别包括泡沫层或橡胶层。由32a、32b示意性示出的边缘部分通常包括为显示区域37供电的电导线。区域34a、34b也优选设置有包括弹性材料的保护层。视图30b示出了沿线A-A截取的柔性显示器的截面图。可以看出,包括柔性显示器的层夹在柔性显示器的边缘部分32a中的弹性材料的各层34之间。弹性材料(特别是泡沫或橡胶材料)优选通过合适的胶水粘附至柔性显示器的前表面或后表面。应当理解的是,通过在显示器的工作区域37周围应用弹性材料,也保护了导线38。此外,由于显示器37的前表面上存在一层材料,当显示器以卷起状态被存储时,存在于显示区域上的颗粒不会造成显示器前表面的损坏。另外,在边缘部分发生的附加发光被消除,从而总体上提高了装置的质量。应当理解的是,通过选择框住(framing)柔性显示器37的工作区域的适当色彩的弹性材料,可以将人眼所能观测到的显示器的黑色反射最优化。通过使各层34的相应厚度最优化(例如通过使所述厚度相等),柔性显示器的电有源层的平面会包括对应于弯曲期间最小机械应力的中性线。从而使得使用期间施加于柔性显示器的潜在易碎部件(如电子器件)的机械应力最小化。
应当理解的是,虽然为了清晰的目的,独立地讨论了根据本发明的电子装置的具体实施例,但是也想到了参照各独立的附图而讨论的兼容特性的互换性。虽然上文已经描述了具体实施例,但应当理解的是,可以不同于所述方式来实施本发明。上文的描述旨在说明而不是限制。因此,对本领域的技术人员很显然,在没有背离如下文所阐述的权利要求的范围下,可以对如前文所描述的本发明进行修改。

Claims (5)

1.一种电子装置,包括具有前表面和后表面的柔性显示器,其中,
所述后表面设置有弹性材料的粘附层,该粘附层用于分散施加至所述前表面的外部压力,所述前表面包括工作区域和非工作区域,所述弹性材料粘附至所述非工作区域,所述弹性材料为泡沫层。
2.根据权利要求1所述的电子装置,其中,所述柔性显示器包括电有源层,所述电有源层的平面包括对应于弯曲期间最小机械应力的中性线。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的电子装置,其中,所述柔性显示器包括边缘部分,所述边缘部分夹在所述弹性材料之间。
4.根据权利要求1或2所述的电子装置,其中,所述弹性材料仅设置在所述显示器的前表面上的非工作区域处。
5.根据权利要求1或2所述的电子装置,其中,所述柔性显示器的一部分定位在一外壳内,所述弹性材料的层粘附至所述部分的面向所述外壳的表面。
