发明内容
本发明在其一个或更多个优选实施例中处理吸着剂罐边缘以克服现有的吸着剂罐的分配问题。典型的吸着剂罐具有融合到中空阻湿塑料圆柱形主体上的多孔端帽。尽管融合端帽大体上被切割成匹配中空圆柱形主体的周边形状,所得到的罐的外围边缘根据本发明进行进一步处理以移除可能会延伸超过中空圆柱形主体的预期周边的材料。优选地,罐的外围边缘被斜切、或另外成斜角或圆形,以移除过量材料或使过量材料凹入。
本发明的一种形式为制造吸着剂罐的方法,该方法包括以下步骤:在中空阻湿塑料主体的第一开口端上覆盖第一多孔塑料板并将该第一板融合到中空主体的第一开口端。由介于第一板与中空主体的第一开口端之间的第一融合接面包围的第一板的部分形成罐的第一端。将延伸超过第一融合接面的第一板的其余部分修剪掉,以使罐与第一板分开。然后斜切第一融合接面,以使罐的第一端成斜角。斜角端克服了修剪操作中的公差变动,这种公差变动原本可能会造成不规则边缘,不规则边缘可能会干扰完成的罐的自动分配。

优选地,中空阻湿塑料主体是多个中空阻湿塑料主体中的第一个。多个中空塑料主体可安装于共同托盘中,中空主体的第二开口端可在托盘内与共同参考对准,且第一板可融合到中空主体的第一开口端以在罐的第一端处形成第一融合接面。延伸超过第一融合接面的第一板的其余部分被共同修剪掉,以使罐与第一板的其余部分分开。此外,第一融合接面共同被斜切以使罐的第一端成斜角。
一旦在形成罐的第一端后,可将托盘倒置,使罐的第一端与共同参考对准,并且可填充该罐。可将第二板融合到中空主体的第二开口端以在罐的第二端处形成第二融合接面。延伸超过第二融合接面的第二板的其余部分可共同被修剪掉,以使罐与第二板的其余部分分开。然后,可将第二融合接面共同斜切以使罐的第二端成斜角。
本发明的另一形式为吸着剂罐,其包括中空阻湿塑料主体,该中空阻湿塑料主体具有开口端和融合到中空主体的开口端的多孔塑料板。融合接面形成于多孔板与中空主体的开口端之间。形成于融合接面中的斜角表面移除融合接面中的不规则性,不规则性可能会干扰吸着剂罐的自动分配。
优选地,中空主体具有与轴线同心的形式,且斜角表面相对于轴线倾斜。斜角表面优选地以小于30度的斜切角相对于轴线倾斜,且更优选地,斜角表面以大约15度的斜切角相对于轴线倾斜。
可通过向抵靠着中空主体的开口端的板施加热和压力来将多孔塑料板融合到中空主体的开口端。开口端优选地为第一开口端和第二开口端中的第一个,多孔塑料板优选地为第一多孔塑料板与第二多孔塑料板中的第一个,且融合接面优选地为形成于第一开口端和第二开口端与第一多孔塑料板和第二多孔塑料板之间的第一融合接面和第二融合接面中的第一个。此外,斜角表面优选地为形成于第一融合接面与第二融合接面中用以移除不规则性的第一斜角表面和第二斜角表面中的第一个,不规则性可能会干扰吸着剂罐的自动分配。
因此,本发明的目的之中尤其包括一种改进的吸着剂罐,其具有至少一个多孔端部和斜角表面,多孔端部在接面处融合到中空主体,斜角表面形成于融合接面中以避免自动分配设备的干扰问题。罐可包含气体或蒸气处理材料,其吸附湿气或吸收诸如氧这样的其它气体。本发明的另一目的在于提供一种制造这种罐的改进方法,这种罐具有带斜角表面的多孔端部。
当结合附图来阅读说明书的以下部分时,将会更全面地理解本发明的各种方面。

具体实施方式
如在图1和图2中所描绘的,本发明的改进的气体或蒸气处理罐10包括中空主体12和多孔闭合构件14和16(即,端帽),中空主体12由高密度聚乙烯制成且具有大体上圆柱形的形状,多孔闭合构件14和16由多孔高密度聚乙烯制成。多孔闭合构件14和16结合到中空主体12的不同的开口端18和20。如在图3中更清楚地看出,多孔闭合构件14和16通过诸如振动或热工具焊接(hot tool welding)这样的融合操作而在接面22和24处结合到中空主体的开口端18和20。罐10填充有颗粒材料30,颗粒材料30可吸附或吸收过量的湿气、氧气、气味、或者吸着剂材料被设计用来从其最接近的环境移除的其它可利用气体传输的材料。
当通过热进行融合时,多孔闭合构件14和16凹陷于中空主体12的开口端18和20内。在融合接面22和24处,抵靠着中空主体12的周围壁32而形成小弯月面26和28,在融合位点处显示出多孔闭合构件14和16的暂时塑性状态。在气体或蒸气处理罐10的相对端部处的多孔闭合构件14和16的暴露表面上所印刷的文本消息33提供警告,该警告进一步区分罐10与使用期间可能与容器混合的产品。
根据本发明,斜角表面34和36优选地形成于融合接面22和24中以确保移除接面22或24中任何过量材料。举例而言,如图4所示,在形成斜角表面34和36的斜切操作之前,在融合位点处未修剪的边缘38延伸超过中空主体12的预期周边。未修剪的边缘38可能会干扰将罐预期分配到诸如药瓶这样的产品包装内。
斜角表面34和36的形成移除了未修剪的边缘38,斜角表面34和36以相对于中空主体12的中心轴线40的角度α倾斜。在数学术语中,中空主体12的外围由绕中心轴线40旋转的线产生。斜角α优选地相对于轴线40倾斜不超过30度且最佳地相对于该轴线40倾斜大约15度,使得在斜角表面34和36的形成过程中,在对应于中空主体12的高度尺寸沿着中心轴线40在纵向上所移除的材料多于对应于中空主体12的宽度尺寸朝向中心轴线40在径向上所移除的材料。由于中空主体12确实是中空的以充当容器,因此中空主体12的周围壁32具有有限的厚度尺寸,由相对陡峭的斜角α防止其出现裂口。
斜角表面34和36优选地如同锥形部段具有直边以利用陡峭的斜角α来相对减小对中空主体12的其余壁厚度的冲击。斜角表面也可形成为其它形状,包括具有曲线侧边或另外的圆形侧边的形状。
通过其余附图更详细描述了取决于并且包括着刚提到的用于形成斜角表面34和36的斜切操作的罐10的制造。在该过程中的第一步骤是提供中空主体12。
如图5所示,可通过借助于与管旋转与前移装置56相关联的合适切割刀片54来将挤压的高密度聚乙烯管52切割成主体12,从而获得中空主体12;或者可按照任何其它合适方式来获得中空主体12。如图6所示,下一步骤是将中空主体12压配到夹具60内(诸如一组20个中空主体),其中仅很小的端部62和64在中空主体12的端部18和20处突伸超过夹具60的表面66和68。这使得在随后的焊接操作期间牢固地保持住主体12。之后,将多孔高密度聚乙烯板70放置于中空主体12的开口端18和20上。板70可具有无光泽表面和光泽表面。优选地,板70的无光泽表面放置成与中空主体12的开口端20成邻接关系,但光泽表面也可放置成抵靠着主体12的端部20。之后,受热的焊接模具76将足够的热和压力施加到板70上,以在融合接面24处将板70和中空主体12的重叠部分融合在一起。焊接模具76优选地由特殊钢(P20)的矩形杆形成,其具有沿着纵向轴线形成的孔用于插入筒点火棒(cartridge fire rod)。可形成另一孔以插入热电偶,用以向控制器提供反馈来维持焊接模具76处于所希望的温度。
虽然在图6中看不出来,来自焊接模具76的热在融合接面24附近暂时软化所述板70,使得板70的未压缩中部78被拉到中空主体12内部、并且与弯月面28(参看图3)在融合接面24处接合到中空主体12的侧壁32。与焊接模具76首先施加到的端部20相对着的突伸端部62,是由与夹具60相关联的基部78支承着的。
优选地,焊接模具76在大约500华氏度温度的情况下,在箭头82的方向上向抵靠着中空主体12端部20的板70施加了在每平方英寸上介于600与1000磅之间的压力大约1至2秒。多孔塑料板70足够刚硬,使得其在经受压力时并不变弯曲。这种压力与温度的组合产生融合接面24用于将多孔塑料板70的部分牢固地附连到中空主体12的开口端20。
在多孔塑料板70结合到多个中空主体12之后,修剪模具80施加到板70上,如在图7中所描绘,并且修剪掉超过中空主体12外围的板70的过量材料。而且,如图7所示,修剪模具80包含多个圆形刀具84,其修剪掉板70位于端部20外部的过量材料。
如图8所示的这个过程的后面的步骤包括:(a)通过使得保持着主体12的夹具60倒置而将所加工的主体12倒置和(b)利用来自诸如漏斗86这样的源的颗粒材料30来填充主体12。之后,如图9所示,多孔高密度塑料材料的另一板90放置于主体12的开口端18上,并且受热的焊接模具76向塑料板90的顶部施加箭头82所描绘的热和压力从而形成与中空主体12端部18的融合接面22,这类似于在上文中参看图6和图7所描述的形成融合接面24的方式。在这些程序期间,先前利用多孔端部16所闭合的主体12的相对端部20由夹具60的基部78支承。之后,如图10所示,修剪模具80在箭头82的方向上降低以从主体12的融合接面22修剪掉板70的过量多孔材料。
中空主体12优选地由高密度聚乙烯制成。主体12可具有大约0.55英寸的外径,大约0.630英寸的长度和大约0.035英寸的壁厚度。此外,中空主体12优选地由被称作HHM 5202BN的产品制成,其为购自德克萨斯州(Texas)的Chevron Phillips ChemicalCompany的FDA级高密度聚乙烯。当中空主体12适当地定位于夹具60内孔中时,中空主体12在每一端可突伸大约0.030英寸。
板70和90优选地由适用于食品或药物包装的多孔高密度聚乙烯制成。板70和90优选地为0.028英寸厚,加或减大约0.005英寸。多孔板70和90可支持每分钟每平方英尺面积40至120立方英尺的空气流动、或者在1.2英寸水柱压力下每分钟通过一英寸直径盘的1400至4200毫升的空气流动。板70和90具有每平方英寸至少215磅的优选抗拉强度,并且应当足够刚硬使得板70和90在经受预期焊接操作期间所遇到的力时并不变弯曲。取决于所希望的应用,其它抗拉强度值也是可能的。这些材料的实例可作为卷材(roll stock),按Porvair PRLF094230的规格购自Porvair Technology of Wrexham,UK;按Porex多孔产品组X-8054或X-9474的规格购自乔治亚州(Georgia)Fairburn的Porex Technologies;或者按微孔3021(Micropore 3021)的规格购自GA的Tucker的Micropore Plastics,Inc.。取决于任何特定应用的具体要求,可使用其它孔隙率。
多孔闭合构件14和16中的每一个可在中部78保持0.028英寸的板厚度尺寸,其可被拉到中空主体12内。但是,由于上文所述在压力下进行热焊接的结果,融合外部可压缩于融合接面22和24内。其它类型的多孔聚乙烯或其它树脂可用于类似目的。
上文所述的热焊接过程运用每平方英寸大约600至1000磅之间的夹持力或压力,且其包括大约4至5秒的循环时间,这包括大约1至2秒的加热时间。前述热焊接过程在融合接面22和24处造成多孔闭合构件14和16与中空主体12的端部18和28之间的融合。尽管闭合构件14和16与中空主体12具有不同的孔隙率,但因为闭合构件14和16与中空主体12的界面区域在前述情形下基本上同时熔化,所以获得这种融合。也可使用其它结合过程来将闭合构件14和16附连到中空主体上,包括诸如在共同转让的美国专利第5,942,060号中所披露的振动焊接过程,该专利以引用的方式结合到本文中。
中空主体12可由其它聚乙烯树脂制成并制成其它大小,其它大小包括其它直径、其它长度和其它壁厚度。如上文所提到的那样,用于闭合构件14和16的多孔高密度聚乙烯可被制成其它硬度,其它厚度和其它孔隙率。中空主体12和闭合构件14与16的参数变化可需要热焊接参数的变化。
优选颗粒材料30之一为白硅胶,其具有大约0.5至1毫米的粒度,可购自英国沃灵顿(Warrington,United Kingdom)的lneos SilicasLtd.,并且包含着这种硅胶的罐10预期用于在各种环境中吸附湿气,诸如在药品容器、食品容器和其中需要湿气吸附的任何其它环境中。可使用其它类型的颗粒或非颗粒的气体或蒸气处理材料,包括(例如但不限于)诸如活性炭、分子筛、活性白土、蒙脱石、硫酸钙和脆云母以及结晶金属铝硅酸盐这样的材料。罐也可包含任何其它合适产品,包括但不限于常规的氧吸收组合物和常规二氧化碳吸收组合物。前述产品从罐10所放置的环境吸收或吸附气体。但是,罐10也可包含产生蒸气的产品,蒸气传递到罐所位于的环境,且这种蒸气(例如但并不限于)包括香气和二氧化碳。因此,在罐主体12内的材料将被表征为“气体或蒸气处理”。
除了前文所述之外,虽然罐10的具体材料在上文被描述为高密度聚乙烯,应了解到聚丙烯也可用于主体11和多孔构件14,且可相应地调整用于实施热焊接的参数。还认为可使用其它树脂来提供图1至图4所描绘类型的罐,其中多孔闭合构件14和16如上文所述在多个环形位置结合。这些其它树脂,例如但不限于,可包括尼龙、聚偏氟乙烯(PVDF)、聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)、苯乙烯丙烯腈(SAN)、聚砜(PS)、乙烯-醋酸乙烯(EVA)、聚碳酸酯(PC)、聚对苯二甲酸酯碳酸酯(PPC)和聚醚砜(PES)。
虽然罐10在上文中被描述为具有两个多孔端部构件14和16,应了解罐10可被制造成具有仅一个多孔端部构件(诸如16或14)和具有非多孔的另一端部,且另一端部构件可与主体一体地制成或附连到主体上。而且,虽然罐10被描述为包含气体或蒸气处理组合物,认为其具有与其内含物无关的普遍适用性。在这个方面,例如,其可包含这样的产品:其必须允许呼吸,但并不以其它方式吸收、吸附或以任何其它方式与罐10外部的气体或蒸气起反应。
在修剪操作之后、或者结合修剪操作、或作为修剪操作的替代,可使用如图11所示的斜切刀具100来在罐10的相对端部处的融合接面22和24中形成斜角表面34和36。斜角表面34和36的形成确保了移除掉延伸超过中空主体12的预期周边且可能会干扰完成罐10分配的罐10端部处的任何未修剪边缘38。
斜切刀具100优选地可绕与中空主体12的中心轴线40对准的轴线102而旋转,并且包括圆柱形主体104以及绕旋转轴线104成角度间隔开的切割刀片106。此外,斜切刀具100优选地可沿着旋转轴线102和中心轴线40相对于罐10进行相对平移,用于将斜切刀具100进给成与罐10的融合接面22和24接合。切割刀片的切割边缘108优选地以角度β相对于旋转轴线102倾斜,用于以相对应的斜切角α形成斜角表面34和36。
优选地,斜切角α小于30度。更为优选地,斜角表面34和36以仅大约15度的斜切角倾斜。浅斜切角α确保了斜切操作无损于中空主体12的壁厚度“t”,尽管存在罐10的高度变化。举例而言,15度的斜切角α可适应的中空主体高度变化“Δh”是在较常规的45度斜切角情况下的中空主体高度变化“Δh”的几乎四倍。刀具止动件可相对于夹具60做参照,以设置斜切刀具100的切割深度。优选每刀具两个切割刀片106。还优选每分钟介于700与1500转(RPM)之间的旋转速度。斜切刀具100沿着旋转轴线102的竖直速度优选地是可变速度,以在切割期间实现迅速的接近、但较慢的进给。
斜切刀具100可在罐10之间平移、或者可使用多个斜切刀具100用于斜切在夹具60内多个罐10的端部。多个斜切刀具100也可一起使用,利用多个斜切刀具100的分别平移或共同平移来在罐10之间分度标记(index)斜切刀具。举例而言,可使用五头的主轴用于一次斜切5个罐端部,且整个五头主轴可被分度标记以斜切在相同夹具60内的另一组五个罐端部。可作为修剪模具80的补充或替代来使用斜切刀具100。即,斜切刀具100可用于(a)切割多孔板70和90使罐10与板70和90分开和(b)用于继续切割(即,沿着旋转轴线102相对平移)以在融合接面22和24处形成斜角表面34和36。
一旦在罐10被分开和斜切之后,端部被优选地印刷警告信息33,其被加以目视检查,且作为完成的罐10从夹具60弹出。带斜角表面34和36的新罐10可被分配到产品包装内,且对于使得这种分配不受到制造所引起的外围边缘阻碍更有信心。
虽然已公开了本发明的优选实施例,但应了解本发明并不限于此而是可在所附权利要求书的范畴内以其它方式实施。
Claims (24)
1.一种制造吸着剂罐的方法,其包括以下步骤:
在中空塑料主体的第一开口端上覆盖第一多孔塑料板,
将所述第一板融合到所述中空主体的第一开口端,用以由在所述第一板与所述中空主体的所述第一开口端之间的第一融合接面所包围的第一板的部分形成所述罐的第一端,
修剪掉延伸超过所述第一融合接面的第一板的其余部分,用以使所述罐与所述主体的其余部分分开;以及
斜切所述第一融合接面,用以使所述罐的所述第一端成斜角。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述中空主体具有与轴线同心的形式,并且斜切步骤包括着在所述罐的所述第一端中形成相对于所述轴线倾斜的斜角表面。
3.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其中所述斜切步骤包括使刀具绕所述轴线旋转。
4.根据权利要求3所述的方法,其中所述刀具具有绕所述轴线成角度间隔开的刀片。
5.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其中所述斜切步骤包括使所述斜角表面以小于30度的斜切角相对于所述轴线倾斜。
6.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其中所述斜切步骤包括使所述斜角表面以大约15度的斜切角倾斜。
7.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其包括以下步骤:将所述罐倒置,填充所述罐,在所述中空塑料主体的第二开口端上覆盖第二多孔塑料板,以及将所述第二板融合到所述中空主体的所述第二开口端上形成所述罐的第二端。
8.根据权利要求7所述的方法,其包括以下步骤:修剪掉延伸超过第二融合接面的第二板的周围部分,用以使所述罐与所述第二板分开。
9.根据权利要求8所述的方法,其包括以下步骤:斜切所述第二融合接面使所述罐的第二端成斜角。
10.根据权利要求7所述的方法,其中融合所述第一板和第二板的步骤包括向抵靠着所述中空主体的所述第一开口端和第二开口端的所述第一板和第二板施加热和压力。
11.根据权利要求7所述的方法,其中所述中空塑料主体是多个中空塑料主体中的第一个,且该方法包括以下步骤:将所述多个中空主体安装于共同托盘中,使所述托盘内的所述中空主体的第二开口端与共同参考对准,以及将所述第一板融合到所述中空主体的所述第一开口端以在所述罐的第一端处形成第一融合接面。
12.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中所述修剪步骤包括共同剪掉延伸超过所述第一融合接面的所述第一板的其余部分,用以使所述罐与所述第一板的其余部分分开。
13.根据权利要求12所述的方法,其中所述斜切步骤包括共同斜切所述第一融合接面,用以使所述罐的所述第一端成斜角。
14.根据权利要求13所述的方法,其包括以下步骤:将所述托盘倒置,使所述罐的第一端与共同参考对准,填充所述罐,将所述第二板融合到所述中空主体的第二开口端以在所述罐的第二端处形成第二融合接面,共同修剪掉延伸超过所述第二融合接面的所述第二板的其余部分使所述罐与所述第二板的其余部分分开;以及,共同斜切所述第二融合接面使所述罐的第二端成斜角。
15.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中在单一的操作中执行所述修剪步骤和斜切步骤。
16.根据权利要求15所述的方法,其中一种旋转切割刀具提供用于修剪掉所述第一板的其余部分并且斜切所述第一融合接面用以使所述罐的第一端成斜角。
17.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中在各自单独的操作中执行所述修剪步骤和斜切步骤。
18.根据权利要求17所述的方法,其中使用不同刀具来执行所述修剪步骤和斜切步骤。
19.一种吸着剂罐,其包括:
具有开口端的中空塑料主体,
融合到所述中空主体的开口端处的多孔塑料板,
在所述多孔板与所述中空主体的所述开口端之间的融合接面,以及
形成于所述融合接面中的斜角表面。
20.根据权利要求19所述的罐,其中所述中空主体具有与轴线同心的形式,且所述斜角表面相对于所述轴线倾斜。
21.根据权利要求20所述的罐,其中所述斜角表面以小于30度的斜切角相对于所述轴线倾斜。
22.根据权利要求20所述的罐,其中所述斜角表面以大约15度的斜切角相对于所述轴线倾斜。
23.根据权利要求19所述的罐,其中通过向抵靠着所述中空主体的开口端的所述板施加热和压力而将所述多孔塑料板融合到所述中空主体的开口端。
24.根据权利要求19所述的罐,其中所述开口端是第一开口端和第二开口端中的第一个,所述多孔塑料板是第一多孔塑料板和第二多孔塑料板中的第一个,所述融合接面是形成于所述第一开口端和所述第二开口端与所述第一多孔塑料板和第二多孔塑料板之间的第一融合接面和第二融合接面中的第一个,且所述斜角表面是形成于所述第一融合接面和第二融合接面中的第一斜角表面和第二斜角表面中的第一个。
