Abstract
双向及反向资源保留建立协议,揭示关于在至少两个用户间建立一无线分组会话。至少其中一个用户为一无线用户。该至少两个用户中的一第一用户将一「保留建立协议(reservation setup protocol;RSVP)PATH」信息发送至该两个用户的一第二用户。该RSVP PATH信息包含用以保留资源的信息,该资源只用以从该第一用户向该第二用户传送;或用以从该第一用户向该第二用户传送及从该第二用户向该第一用户传送,或只用以从该第二用户向该第一用户传送。该第二用户将一「RSVP保留(RESV)」信息发送至该第一用户以作为接收到该RSVP PATH信息的响应。使用这些保留的资源即可进行传送。

分案申请说明
本申请是申请人于2002年11月1日提出的申请号为02822168.0的专利申请“双向及反向资源保留建立协议”的分案申请。
技术领域
本发明是关于以无线分组为基础的通信。更具体地说的,本发明是关于建立以无线分组为基础的通信。
背景技术
在某些网际网络应用中,会保留资源以达到必要的服务品质(quality ofservice;QOS)。资源的保留使以分组为基础的网络可如电路交换网络一样操作。图1为两个无线用户,即用户A及用户B间用以(例如)无线网际网络、无线多媒体、网际网络电话、视频会议或视频电话中简化的以无线分组为基础(如以网际网络为基础)的通信会话(session)。不同的会话具有不同的效能要求,如建立时间、延迟、可靠性、完整性及服务品质(QOS)。用户A显示为用户设备(user equipment;UE)20,及用户B显示为UE 22。用户A使用其移动网络24并通过分组网络28而发送及接收通信。相似地,用户B使用其移动网络26并通过该分组网络28而发送及接收通信。
图2为建立该会话。用户A发送一「资源保留建立协议(RSVP)PATH」信息30以建立该会话。通过各种网络路由器(路由器1至路由器N)将该RSVP PATH信息30发送至用户B。每个路由器决定是否存在可用于该会话的资源。若存在适当的资源,便会更新该RSVP PATH信息30并将其传送至下一路由器。若不存在适当的资源,便会将一错误信息发送回用户A。当用户B接收该RSVP PATH信息30时,用户B通过发送一「RSVP保留(RESV)」信息32以保留整个网络24、26、28的资源而予以响应。通过这些网络发送该RSVP RESV信息32时,会配置资源以支持从用户A至用户B的通信。若成功配置了这些资源,那么用户A便会接收该RSVP RESV信息32。用户A将一确认(RSVP confirm)信息34发送到用户B以确认接收该RSVP RESV信息32。
为配置用户B至用户A的通信的资源,用户B通过各种网络路由器(路由器1至路由器N)将一RSVP PATH信息30发送至用户A。当用户A接收该RSVP PATH信息30时,用户A通过发送一RSVP RESV信息32以保留整个网络24、26、28的资源而予以响应。当通过这些网络24、26、28发送该RSVP RESV信息32时,会配置资源以支持从用户B至用户A的通信。若成功配置了这些资源,那么用户B便会接收该RESV信息32。用户B将一RSVP确认信息34发送至用户A以确认接收该RSVPRESV信息34。
为保持这些资源配置,会通过网络24、26、28周期性地发送「更新PATH」信息36。用户A通过这些网络24、26及28将「更新PATH」信息36发送至用户B以保持供用户A传送的资源,用户B通过网络24、26及28将「更新PATH」信息36发送至用户A以保持供用户B传送的资源。若未发送「更新PATH」信息36,这些保留状态会终止,从而释放这些已配置的资源。
发送所有这些信息以配置资源会耗用有价值的网络资源。因此,希望使用替代的方法建立无线网际网络会话。
发明内容
本发明是关于在至少两个用户间建立一无线分组会话。至少其中一个用户为无线用户。该至少两个用户中的一第一用户将一「保留建立协议(RSVP)PATH 」信息发送至该二用户的一第二用户。该RSVP PATH信息包含用以保留资源的信息,该保留资源只用以从该第一用户向该第二用户传送;或用以从该第一用户向该第二用户传送及该第二用户向该第一用户传送,或只用以从该第二用户向该第一用户传送。该第二用户将一「RSVP保留(RESV)」信息发送至该第一用户以作为接收该RSVP PATH信息的响应。使用这些保留的资源即可进行传送。

具体实施方式
图3为双向资源保留建立协议。用户A期望与用户B建立双向以分组为基础(如网际网络)的会话。该会话的要求,如比特率及相关延迟,是根据先前的协商。用户A及B都为无线用户,或其中一个为无线用户,而另一个为有线用户。为激活(initiate)会话,用户A(发起端用户)会发送一双向RSVP PATH信息38。该双向RSVP PATH信息38包含从用户A向用户B及从用户B向用户A传送的通信的资源配置信息。这些通信的较佳格式会结合图8、9、10、11及12予以更详细地说明。虽然主要是结合双向通信来说明本发明,但是本发明可延伸至任何多方通信,如三方电话会议。
通过这些网络的各种路由器(路由器1至路由器N)将该双向RSVP PATH信息38发送至用户B。用户B通过这些网络24、26、28发送双向RSVP RESV信息40以配置两个用户的资源。一较佳双向RSVP RESV信息40会结合图8、13、14及15予以更详细地说明。一旦传送该双向RSVP RESV信息40,每个网络会配置资源以供用户A与用户B传送。一旦接收该双向RSVP RESV信息40,其表示已成功配置这些资源,用户A会通过这些网络将双向RSVP确认信息42发送至用户B。接收该双向RSVP确认信息42后,用户A及B间的双向通信便激活了。例如,为计费目的,最好是由用户A负责该会话。使该发起端用户负责该会话可简化计费程序。
为保持这些资源配置,会通过这些网络周期性地将双向「更新PATH」信息44从用户A发送至用户B。传送该双向「更新PATH」信息44后,这些网络便会在两个方向保持这些资源配置。
使用这些双向信息可减少建立该会话所需的开销(overhead)。只有一个用户发送双向信息,而不是用户A及用户B都发送RSVP PATH 30、RSVP RESV 32及RSVP确认34信息。虽然通过减少信息的数量,每个这些信息载送的信息通常会增加,但是可减少整个网络的负担。此外,该双向信息可避免呼叫状况,其中会在一个方向建立这些资源,而在另一方向不建立这些资源。减少的负担减轻了对广播资源的冲击,并改良了网络效能。
图4为反向资源保留建立协议。用户A期望建立网际网络会话,其中只有用户B传送信息。用户A及B都是无线用户,或其中一个是无线用户,而另一个则为有线用户。为激活该会话,用户A(发起端用户)会发送一反向RSVP PATH信息46。该反向RSVP PATH信息46包含供用户B传送至用户A的资源配置信息。
通过这些网络的各种路由器(路由器1至路由器N)将该反向RSVP PATH信息46发送至用户B。用户B发送反向RSVP RESV信息48以配置用以传送的资源。接收该反向RSVP RESV信息48后,用户A会通过这些网络24、26及28将反向RSVP确认信息50发送至用户B。接收该反向RSVP确认信息50后,用户B便开始将资料传送至用户A。最好是由用户A(虽然用户A不传送任何实质性信息)负责该会话。
图5为较佳RSVP信息的简化图,其通常说明该RSVP PATH、RSVP RESV及RSVP确认信息。该较佳信息具有一IP标头(IP header),其具有一方向指示器(前向、反向及双向)及具有对象581至58N。较佳地,该信息是根据RFC 2205并与的反向兼容,该方向指示器是一四位指示器。在RFC 2205中,该方向指示器541的四个位的赋予值为「0000」以表示前向(发起端用户只发送信息)。图6为较佳前向RSVP信息,其只包含前向「(FORWARD)」的对象58F1至58FN。在RFC 2205中,每个用户(用户A及B中的每个)均为一发起端用户。该方向指示器542的值「0011」表示该反向(该发起端用户只接收信息)。图7为较佳反向RSVP信息。在图7中,所有的对象58R1至58RN都是反向「(REVERSE)」的。该方向指示器543的值「1111」表示使用两个方向(发起端用户可接收及发送)。图8为较佳双向RSVP信息。在图8中,显示了「前向」58F1至58FN及「反向」58R1至58RN对象。
图9为与RFC 2205兼容的较佳双向RSVP PATH信息。该双向RSVP PATH信息具有以下各栏:「<Path Message>」、「<Common Header>」、「<INTEGRITY>」、「<SESSION>」、「<RSVP_HOP>」、「<TIME_VALUES>」、「<POLICY_DATA>」、「<sender description>」、「<sender descriptor>」、「<SENDER_TEMPLATE>」、「<SENDER_TSPEC>」及「<ADSPEC>」。
图10为一「<SENDER_TSPEC>」的说明。沿着该图顶部的号码表示位位置,即位位置0至31。如图10所示的一双向RSVP PATH信息,其包含「前向」及「反向」信息。
图11及12为「<ADSPEC>」栏的两种状态。图11说明了一PATH Default ADSPEC及图12说明了PATH Guaranteed Service ADSPEC。如这些图中所示,两个ADSPEC都包含前向及反向信息。
图13为与RFC 2205兼容的较佳双向RSVP RESV信息。该双向RSVP RESV信息具有以下的栏:「<Resv Message>」、「<Common Header>」、「<INTEGRITY>」、「<SESSION>」、「<RSVP_HOP>」、「<TIME_VALUES>」、「<RESV_CONFIRM>」、「<SCOPE>」、「<POLICY_DATA>」、「<STYLE>」、「<flow descriptor list>」及「<flow descriptor>」。
该方向指示器包含于该「<flow descriptor list>」中。图14及15为该「<flow descriptor list>」的较佳FLOWSPEC。图14为「保证服务(Guaranteedservice)」的FLOWSPEC,图15为保证服务服务延伸格式的FLOWSPEC。如图14及15所示的双向RSVP RESV信息,前向及反向信息都通过该信息载送。
图16为在双向、反向及前向保留建立协议信息中使用的无线用户设备的一框图。一RSVP信息产生器72产生该RSVP PATH信息(包含双向RSVP及反向RSVPPATH信息)、RSVP RESV信息(包含双向RSVP及反向RSVP RESV信息)、RSVP确认信息(包含双向RSVP及反向RSVP确认信息)及「更新PATH」信息(包含双向及反向「更新PATH」信息)。一RSVP接收器用以接收各种RSVP信息。如前所述,该UE发送或接收的信息是根据该UE是否为该发起端用户或非发起端用户。
使用一会话资料发送器76及一会话资料接收器78而发送及接收会话资料。一天线70或天线数组用以发送及接收整个广播接口的各种信息及通信。
Claims (3)
1.一种无线用户设备,其用以激活一以分组为基础的会话,该用户设备包括:
一资源保留建立协议信息产生器,该资源保留建立协议信息产生器配置以产生一资源保留建立协议路径信息,其中该资源保留建立协议路径信息包含一IP标头,该IP标头具有一方向指示器,该方向指示器指示资源是否为了要被从该用户设备发送、发送到该用户设备、从该用户设备发送且发送到该用户设备的信息而要被配置;
一资源保留建立协议信息接收器,其配置以接收来自另一通信装置的一资源保留建立协议路径信息;
一会话数据发送器,其配置以从该用户设备发送数据;以及
一会话数据接收器,其配置以接收来自另一通信装置的数据。
2.如权利要求1所述的无线用户设备,其中该资源保留建立协议信息产生器配置以发送一资源保留建立协议确认信息,该资源保留建立协议确认信息指示接收到来自另一通信装置的一资源保留建立协议保留信息。
3.如权利要求1所述的无线用户设备,其更包括一天线,该天线与该资源保留建立协议信息产生器、该资源保留建立协议信息接收器、该会话数据发送器、以及该会话数据接收器通信。
