Abstract

本发明组合连接端子和连接器壳体,从而将电连接器小型化。在连接器壳体(11)的后面形成多个端子接收孔(14)的端子入口部(15)。端子入口部(15)具有截面椭圆形状,其椭圆的方向朝向一定方向对齐地进行排列。将连接部制成窄宽度的连接端子的连接部的纵长部与纵长的端子入口部(15)对齐地插入该端子接收孔(14)内,连接端子与在端子接收孔内设置的具有弹性的壳体矛形件和连接部相结合并进行固定。

技术领域
本发明涉及一种例如用于汽车用线束、可制造为超小型的电连接器。
背景技术
伴随着近年来的电器的高性能化,从汽车线束回路开始,各种电器的配线个数持续增加。伴随着该增加,电线变细,连接电线的连接端子也小型化,期望电连接器的集成化。
但是,在连接器壳体上接收多个小型化连接端子的场合存在较大的难点,该难点在于确保由连接器壳体对连接端子的保持。
通常防水型的阴型连接端子如图8所示,在连接端子1的前部设置连接部2,在后部设置压接部3,由压接部3a连接电线4的芯线5,进一步在电线4的覆盖层上插装合成橡胶制的圆筒形防水密封件6,并由压接部3b进行连接。该防水密封件6紧贴连接器壳体的端子接收孔的端子入口部的内壁,防止来自外部的水浸入连接器壳体内。
为了将连接端子1固定到连接器壳体上,需要从端子接收孔的内部突出具有弹性的壳体矛形件(ケ一スランス,case lance),并与连接部2的后缘相结合。但是,一旦考虑到确保连接端子1的保持,则在该部分的小型化方面存在限制。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于消除上述问题,提供一种将连接端子和连接器壳体相组合从而小型化的电连接器。
为了实现上述目的的根据本发明的电连接器的技术特征在于,其是将从连接器壳体的端子接收孔内突出的壳体矛形件与在连接端子上设置的截面方筒形的结合部的后端相结合,从而将所述连接端子固定在所述连接器壳体内的电连接器,将所述连接端子的结合部的截面制成纵长形状的同时,将在后方部压接的电线上插装的防水密封件的防水功能部的外侧制成截面椭圆形状,将所述端子接收孔的端子入口部制成截面椭圆形状,将所述纵长形状的结合部和所述防水密封件的椭圆长轴与所述端子入口部的纵长部对齐地插入。
根据本发明的电连接器,通过将纵长形成的连接端子的结合部和椭圆形状形成的防水密封件与截面为椭圆形状的端子入口的纵长部对齐地插入,能够减小连接端子间的间隙并高密度地排列,实现小型化。

具体实施方式
基于图1至图7所示的实施例详细说明本发明。
图1是连接器壳体的正视图,图2是后视图,图3是侧视图。在连接器壳体11的前面设置与对方侧的连接器壳体相配合的配合部12,在连接器壳体11上设置用于接收对方侧插入端子的例如46个方形插入孔13。而且,在连接器壳体11的后面形成接收连接端子的端子接收孔14的端子入口部15。
后面的端子入口部15具有截面椭圆形状,其椭圆的方向朝向一定方向对齐地排列。而且,对于端子入口部15的大小而言,有的分区设置适合超小型连接端子大小的例如40个端子入口部15,其它的分区设置适合插入电流容量变大的较大连接端子大小的例如6个端子入口部15。而且,也可以在每个分区中改变纵长部的方向并对齐。
另外,由于该连接器壳体11接收的连接端子的个数多,考虑到与对方侧的连接器壳体的配合阻力,在连接器壳体11的侧部设置杆16,将在对方侧的连接器壳体上设置的销与杆16的凸轮孔相结合,利用该杆16的杠杆作用地进行配合。
而且,图4是沿着端子接收孔14的端子入口部15的纵长部剖开连接器壳体11的截面图。在端子接收孔14的内部,具有弹性的壳体矛形件17突出,起到结合的作用,以便插入后的连接端子不向后方退出。
另一方面,图5示出在连接器壳体11的端子接收孔14内接收阴型连接端子21的透视图。在连接端子21的前方部分设置用于与对方侧连接端子相连接的连接部22,在后方部分由压接部23a、23b固定电线24。
如果将该连接端子21与图8所示的传统例比较,为了小型化,连接部22宽度窄地制成纵长,高度制成足够将壳体矛形件17与连接部22的后缘牢固地进行结合的大小。
然后,合成橡胶制的筒状防水密封件25插装在电线24上,防水密封件25的前端由连接端子21的压接部23b固定。防水密封件25如图6所示在内外两面形成具有防水功能的折皱部25a。虽然防水密封件25的内孔也包含折皱部25a的内壁在内地制成截面圆形,但外侧的折皱部25a截面制成椭圆形状。而且,由压接部23b压紧的圆筒部25b的外形制成圆形。
防水密封件25的折皱部25a的椭圆的长轴与连接部22的纵长部对齐地与连接端子21进行固定,即使在与连接端子21进行固定安装的状态也保持折皱部25a的椭圆形状。
在将连接端子21插入连接器壳体11内之际,将连接端子21的纵长的连接部22与端子接收孔14的端子入口部15的纵长部对齐地插入。在该插入过程中,如图7上部所示,连接部22上推具有弹性的壳体矛形件17,一旦连接部22下潜退脱壳体矛形件17而到达端子接收孔14的规定位置,壳体矛形件17从连接部22脱开,向下方复位。
藉此,如图7下部所示,壳体矛形件17与连接部22的后缘相结合,防止连接端子21的后退。同时,椭圆形状的防水密封件25长轴彼此对齐地紧贴截面椭圆形状的端子入口部15的内壁,成为阻止来自外部的水浸入的防水构造。
另外在上述实施例中,虽然将连接端子21作为阴型连接端子进行了说明,但即使在阳型连接端子的场合下,通过将在平刃状的插入部的后方设置的截面方筒形的结合部制成椭圆状的纵长形状,与连接器壳体11的端子入口部15相组合,同样能够实现接收连接端子的高密度化。

Claims (2)

1.一种电连接器,该电连接器在连接器壳体的后面纵横地排列多个椭圆形状的端子入口部,该端子入口部将椭圆长轴的方向对齐到一定方向,使壳体矛形件从与所述端子入口部连通的所述连接器壳体内的端子接收孔突出,将所述壳体矛形件与在接受到端子接收孔内的连接端子上设置的连接部的后端相结合,从而将所述连接端子固定,其特征在于,将所述连接端子的连接部的截面制成方形的纵长形状,而且将在压接于后方部的电线上插装的防水密封件的防水功能部的外形制成截面椭圆形状,使其椭圆长轴的方向与所述连接部的纵长方向一致地进行固定,在将所述连接端子插入到所述连接器壳体内时,使所述连接部的纵长方向以及所述防水密封件的椭圆长轴的方向与所述端子入口部的所述椭圆长轴的方向对齐;
将所述连接器壳体的所述后面区分为多个分区,在该每个分区中所述端子入口部的大小不同,插入的所述连接端子的大小不同。
2.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于,所述防水密封件的内孔制成截面圆形,将具有防水功能的折皱部的外形制成截面椭圆形状。
