Abstract

本发明总体涉及便携式电子成像装置,其包括数字摄影机和蜂窝电话,更具体来说涉及一种使用多用途导航按键来实现导航和选择功能的方法和设备。
发明背景
能够显示数字图像和视频的便携式电子成像装置现今是很普通的。此类装置的例子包括数字摄影机、具有摄影机的蜂窝电话、MP3播放器以及个人数字助理(PDA)。图1A和1B是表示包含在传统成像装置中的硬件接口的示例部分的图示。
参照图1A,传统成像装置10装配有液晶显示器(LCD)或其它类型的显示屏幕12,其用于显示对象14。可以在该显示屏幕上显示的对象可以包括数字静止图像、视频剪辑、菜单项和图标。在播放模式中,显示屏幕12被用做重放屏幕,以便允许用户单独地观看对象或者同时观看多个对象。除了显示屏幕12之外,该硬件用户接口还包括多个按键、按钮或开关,以用于操作装置10并且用于在所显示的对象14之间进行导航。示例性的按键包括用于缩放所显示的图像的缩放按键(没有示出)、导航控制器18和选择按键20。图1A中显示的是四向导航控制器18,其包括四个按键:具有水平指向的左/右按键18a和18b,以及具有垂直指向的上/下按键18c和18d。图1B是类似于图1A的图示,其中相同的组件具有相同的附图标记,但是图1B示出具有两向导航控制器的传统成像装置10,该两向导航控制器仅包括两个按键18a和18b。
在图1A和图1B所示的两个实施例中,用户通过按压导航控制器18来导航至所期望的对象14。在单个对象14被显示在屏幕12上时,所显示的对象14被认为是当前选择。在多个对象14被显示的情况下,当用户导航以指示当前选择的对象14时,高亮显示或者其它指示被从一个对象14移动到另一个对象14。一旦用户导航到所期望的对象14,该用户可以通过按压选择按键20启动与当前选择相关联的默认动作。可以通过按压选择按键20来执行的动作包含编辑、打开/执行和删除。选择按键20被显示在图1A的导航控制器18的中心处,但是选择按键20也可以位于导航控制器的外部,正如图1B所示。在另一实施例中,所述2向/4向导航控制器18可以被实现为整合的2向/4向按键。
尽管允许用户在各对象之间进行导航以及通过使用导航控制器18和选择按键20的组合来启动与对象14相关联的动作的当前解决方案对于其预定目的是可行的,但是该实现方式具有很多缺点。首先,在便携式成像装置上用于按键的空间是有限的。使用分离的导航按键18和选择按键20占用了装置10上的宝贵空间。用户必须按照正确的序列找到并且按压正确的按键,但是由于小型化在许多便携式装置上的按键很小,因此这并不总是很容易实现的。
此外,用户必须找到对应于所期望的导航方向的导航控制器18的正确部分。带有导航控制器按键的装置的用户常常因为按压了导航控制器按键18的非期望的部分而导致意外的结果。最典型的错误就是当用户想要按压选择按键20以启动选择功能时却按压了导航按键。
因此,需要一种改进的方法和设备以用于实现便携式电子成像装置上的导航和选择功能。本发明就解决这个需求。
发明概要
本发明提供一种便携式电子成像装置,其包括:显示屏幕,用于显示包含数字静止图像、视频剪辑、菜单项和图标的任何组合的对象;以及包含导航按键的导航控制器,其用于允许用户在所显示的对象之间进行导航,其中用户可以选择当前显示的对象而不需要从最后一次按压的导航按键上移动手指,从而在单个控制器上实现导航和选择功能。在该优选实施例中,该便携式成像装置被设置为检测任何导航按键上的双击和按压-保持,其中,任一个或者全部两个事件可以被解释成用户选择事件,其调用对于当前选择的(一个或多个)对象的默认操作。
根据本文公开的方法和设备,本发明使得用户不需要使用选择按键,从而减少了用户错误。此外,可以从装置上完全消除选择按键,从而节省了装配有导航控制器的装置上的空间。

发明的详细描述
本发明涉及在便携式电子装置上实现导航和选择功能。以下描述使得本领域技术人员能够实施和使用本发明,并且被提供在专利申请及其权利要求的上下文中。对于优选实施例的各种修改以及在此描述的一般原理和特征都易于被本领域技术人员所理解。但是本发明并不局限于所示出的实施例,而应当与在此描述的原理和特征的最宽范围相一致。
本发明提供一种改进的方法和设备以用于实现便携式电子成像装置上的导航和选择功能,这是通过提供一种执行导航和选择功能的多用途导航控制器来实现的。在一个优选实施例中,所述便携式电子装置可以是能够显示图像的任何装置,例如数字摄影机、具有摄影机的蜂窝电话、音乐播放器或PDA。但是,在一个可选的实施例中,该便携式电子装置包含控制各成像装置的装置,例如遥控器。
图2A和2B是表示用于带有根据本发明的多用途导航控制器的便携式电子成像装置的硬件用户接口实施例的图示,其中相同的组件具有相同的附图标记。成像装置50配备有本发明的多用途导航控制器56,该成像装置允许用户选择在屏幕52上显示的对象54而不需要从最后一次按压的导航按键56移动他/她的手指。在该优选实施例中,便携式成像装置50被设置成检测在任何导航按键56上的双击和按压-保持。其中的任一个或者全部两个事件可以被解释成用户选择事件,当其被检测到时就调用对于当前选择的(一个或多个)对象的默认操作。因此,当用户导航到所显示的对象54时,他/她可以简单地双击最后一个按压的导航按键56(或者任何导航按键)或者按压-保持该最后一个按压的导航按键56,以便选择(一个或多个)当前对象54。在另一实施例中,装置50可以被设置成检测在任何导航按键56上的双击和按压-保持,使得所检测到的双击表示用户选择,而所检测到的按压-保持调用对于当前选择的对象的动作,反之亦然。利用本发明的多用途导航控制器56,不需要单独的选择按键来指示选择事件,从而消除了对于单独的选择按键的需求,因此潜在地节省了装置上的空间并且减少了用户错误。
在一个优选实施例中,多用途导航控制器56可以被实现为4向或2向导航控制器(分别如图2A和2B所示),并且导航控制器56可以利用单独的导航按键或者整合的4向/2向按键来实现。此外,在该优选实施例中,从装置50上消除了选择按键以便节约空间。但是,在一个可选的实施例中,装置50可以包括单独的选择按键(未示出)以方便用户,而不管其位于导航控制器的中心处还是与导航控制器分开。
图3是表示通过提供根据本发明一个优选实施例的多用途导航控制器56来实现便携式电子成像装置上的导航和选择功能的方法的流程图。当装置50在步骤100中检测到一个导航按键56被按压并且被释放时,所述处理开始。如果是的话,装置50在步骤102中确定对同一个按键的先前按压和当前键击之间的时间是否小于所存储的双击时间。
再次参考图2A和2B,双击时间58连同释放时间60优选地被存储在装置50内的非易失性存储器60中。在一个优选实施例中,这两个时间都是可设置的。参见图2A、2B和图3,如果在步骤102中确定两次按压之间的时间长于该双击时间58,则装置50在步骤104中将所述键击解释为导航事件并且显示下一个对象(或者把高亮显示移动到下一个对象上,这取决于当前的操作模式)。
根据本发明的一个方面,装置50进一步被配置为如下区分导航期间的快速滚动和双击。如果在步骤102中确定对于同一按键的先前按压和当前键击之间的时间短于所存储的双击时间58,则装置50在步骤106中检查最后的几次按压(例如三次)是否是在同一个导航按键56上执行的。如果在步骤106中确定最后几次按压都是在同一个按键上执行的,则装置50在步骤108中确定用户是在导航期间快速滚动通过所显示的对象。因此,当前键击被解释为导航事件并且显示下一个对象,正如步骤104中所描述的那样。
如果在步骤102中确定对于同一个按键的先前按压和当前键击之间的时间短于所存储的双击时间58,但是在步骤106中确定最后几次按压不是在同一个导航按键上执行的,则在步骤110中把当前键击解释为选择事件。在步骤112中,装置50执行与当前选择的对象相关联的动作。
此外,根据本发明,如果装置50在步骤14中检测到一个导航按键被按压但是直到被释放前的时间长于释放时间62,则在步骤110中把该“按压-保持”解释为选择事件,并且装置50如步骤112所描述的那样执行动作。
已经公开了一种使用多用途导航按键来实现便携式电子成像装置上的导航和选择功能的方法和设备。已经根据所示出的实施例描述了本发明,并且本领域技术人员容易理解所述实施例可以有多种变型,并且任何变型都落在本发明的精神和范围之内。因此,本领域技术人员可以在不脱离权利要求书的精神和范围的情况下做出许多修改。
Claims (22)
1.一种便携式电子成像装置,包括:
显示屏幕,用于显示包含数字静止图像、视频剪辑、菜单项和图标的任何组合的对象;以及
包含导航按键的导航控制器,以用于允许用户在所显示的各对象之间进行导航,其中该用户可以选择当前显示的对象而不需要从最后一次按压的导航按键移动手指,从而可以在单个控制器上实现导航和选择功能。
2.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中,该装置被配置成检测在任一个导航按键上的双击,并且将该双击解释为调用对于当前选择的对象的默认操作的用户选择事件。
3.如权利要求2所述的装置,其中,该装置被配置成检测在任一导航按键上的按压-保持,并且将该按压-保持解释为调用对于当前选择的对象的默认操作的用户选择事件。
4.如权利要求3所述的装置,其中,该装置被配置成检测在任何导航按键上的双击和按压-保持,其中,所检测到的双击指示用户选择,所检测到的按压-保持调用对于当前选择的对象的动作。
5.如权利要求3所述的装置,其中,所述所检测到的按压-保持指示用户选择,所检测到的双击调用对于当前选择的对象的所述操作。
6.如权利要求2所述的装置,其中,响应于检测到其中一个导航按键被按压,如果对所述同一个按键的先前按压和当前键击之间的时间长于所述预定双击时间,则把该当前键击解释为导航事件。
7.如权利要求6所述的装置,其中,响应于检测到其中一个导航按键被按压,如果对所述同一个按键的先前按压和当前键击之间的时间短于所述双击时间,则把该当前键击解释为选择事件。
8.如权利要求7所述的装置,其中,该装置如下区分导航期间的快速滚动和双击:确定对所述同一个按键的先前按压和当前键击之间的时间是否长于所述预定双击时间,如果是的话,检查最后多次按压是否是在该同一导航按键上执行的,如果是的话,则确定用户是在导航期间快速滚动通过所显示的对象。
9.如权利要求8所述的装置,其中,如果对所述同一个按键的先前按压和当前按压之间的时间短于所述双击时间但是最后多次按压不是在同一导航按键上执行的,则将该当前键击解释为选择事件。
10.如权利要求3所述的装置,其中,该装置包含数字摄影机、具有摄影机的蜂窝电话、MP3播放器和个人数字助理的至少其中之一。
11.一种便携式电子成像装置,包括:
显示屏幕,用于显示包含数字静止图像、视频剪辑、菜单项和图标的任何组合的对象;以及
包含导航按键的导航控制器,其用于允许用户在所显示的对象之间进行导航,其中,该装置被配置成检测在任一导航按键上的双击,并且将该双击解释为调用对于当前选择的对象的默认操作的用户选择事件。
12.一种便携式电子成像装置,包括:
显示屏幕,用于显示包含数字静止图像、视频剪辑、菜单项和图标的任何组合的对象;以及
包含导航按键的导航控制器,其用于允许用户在显示的对象之间进行导航,其中,该装置被配置成检测在任一导航按键上的按压-保持,并且将该按压-保持解释为调用对于当前选择的对象的默认操作的用户选择事件。
13.一种为便携式电子成像装置提供多用途导航控制器的方法,包括:
在显示屏幕上显示对象,其中所述对象包含数字静止图像、视频剪辑、菜单项和图标的任何组合;以及
为该装置提供包含导航按键的导航控制器,其允许用户在所显示的对象之间进行导航,其中,用户可以选择当前显示的对象而不需要从最后一次按压的导航按键移动手指,从而可以在单个控制器上实现导航和选择功能。
14.如权利要求13所述的方法,进一步包括:把所述装置配置成检测在任一导航按键上的双击,并且将该双击解释为调用对于当前选择的对象的默认操作的用户选择事件。
15.如权利要求14所述的方法,进一步包括:
配置装置以检测在任一导航按键上的按压-保持,把所述装置配置成检测在任一导航按键上的按压-保持,并且将该按压-保持解释为调用对于当前选择的对象的默认操作的用户选择事件。
16.如权利要求15所述的方法,进一步包括:把所述装置配置成检测在任何导航按键上的双击和按压-保持,其中,所检测到的双击指示用户选择,所检测到的按压-保持调用对于当前选择的对象的动作。
17.如权利要求15所述的方法,进一步包括:把所述装置配置成检测在任何导航按键上的双击和按压-保持,其中,所检测到的按压-保持指示用户选择,所检测到的双击调用对于当前选择的对象的动作。
18.如权利要求14所述的方法,进一步包括:响应于检测到其中一个导航按键被按压,如果对所述同一个按键的先前按压和当前键击之间的时间长于所述预定双击时间,则把该当前键击解释为导航事件。
19.如权利要求18所述的方法,进一步包括:响应于检测到其中一个导航按键被按压,如果对所述同一个按键的先前按压和当前键击之间的时间短于所述预定双击时间,则把该当前键击解释为选择事件。
20.如权利要求19所述的方法,进一步包括如下区分导航期间的快速滚动和双击:确定对所述同一个按键的先前按压和当前键击之间的时间是否长于所述预定双击时间,如果是的话,检查最后多次按压是否是在该同一导航按键上执行的,如果是的话,则确定用户是在导航期间快速滚动通过所显示的对象。
21.如权利要求20所述的方法,进一步包括:如果对所述同一个按键的先前按压和当前按压之间的时间短于所存储的双击时间但是最后多次按压不是在同一导航按键上执行的,则将该当前键击解释为选择事件。
22.如权利要求15所述的方法,进一步包括:为所述装置提供数字摄影机、具有摄影机的蜂窝电话、MP3播放器和个人数字助理的至少其中之一。
