本发明涉及使用容隙环将部件固定到枢轴或销上。
背景技术
使用容隙环来将部件安装在枢轴或销上是众所周知的。该部件中有一个容纳枢轴或销的孔;并且该容隙环被安装于该孔内,位于该枢轴或销与孔壁之间以用作一连接件。该容隙环在该联结中提供了充足的刚度,不过还容许该部件被施加过载时相对于该枢轴或销移动。容隙环用于,例如将硬盘驱动器的动臂机构(actuator arm)装到该动臂机构的枢轴组件上。
然而,这种硬盘驱动器装置新近的发展倾向于使用厚度减薄的动臂机构,从而减少了容隙环与臂之间的接触量。随着该动臂的厚度减少,在动臂内的孔的轴向长度也减少,因此动臂通过容隙环的接合度也降低,可能会降低到动臂通过容隙环的卡合失效的程度。在实践中,如果动臂的厚度小于3mm,用于通过容隙环将动臂机构安装在其枢轴组件上的普通装置将不会成功。
附图中的图1示出了硬盘驱动器的常规动臂机构的安装。动臂机构10中具有一个容纳枢轴组件12的孔11。该枢轴组件12被安装于一个适合的固定件上(图中未示出),以使得该动臂机构能相对于该驱动器的硬盘移动。在图1中的装置中,动臂机构10预定供三个硬盘使用,并且在动臂机构10末端分成三个头部13,这些头部13将紧接该驱动器的相应的硬盘(图中未显示)运动。

然而,随着硬盘容量的减少,在硬盘驱动器中对多头部和多盘片的需要减少,因此动臂机构10的厚度可能会减少。因此孔11的轴向长度可能不足以提供通过容隙环14的适当卡合。
已经提出了使用其它装置将硬盘驱动器的动臂安装到枢轴组件上。因此,如图2所示,动臂机构10可以通过一个卡箍保持在该枢轴组件12上。或者,如图3所示,可以将粘合剂21施用到动臂机构10与该枢轴组件12之间。然而,这些装置不能令人满意,因为图2的装置不能提供足够的径向刚度,而如图3中所示粘合剂的使用使制造更加困难。
发明内容
因此,在最一般形式中,本发明提出了使用容隙环将诸如硬盘驱动器的动臂机构的薄部件安装到诸如硬盘驱动器的枢轴组件的枢轴或销上,该部件和容隙环的接合对该部件施加一力,该力倾斜于轴向和径向两个方向。此外,该枢轴或销具有凸缘,容隙环在该部件上所产生的力的轴向分量将该部件压到该凸缘上。
因此,本发明能提供一种将部件安装在枢轴或销上的方法,在该部件中有一孔并且在枢轴或销上具有第一和第二凸缘,该方法包括:
在枢轴或销上安装部件以使得该枢轴或销的一部分以及第一凸缘穿过该孔,该安装使该部件邻接所述第二凸缘;以及
在该部件和所述第一凸缘之间安装一个环,该环为一具有至少一个从其上径向向外凸出的凸出部的开口环,该环的安装使得该环的远离该部件的边缘邻接该第一凸缘,并且至少一个凸出部在该部件上施加一个力,该力倾斜于枢轴或销的径向和轴向两个方向。
尽管本发明设计用于在硬盘驱动器的枢轴组件上安装动臂机构,但本发明不限于这种装置并适用于其中薄部件安装在枢轴或销上的任何装置。
优选地,将该薄部件邻接凸缘安装到枢轴销上,然后环在该枢轴或销上、在部件远离该凸缘的一侧滑动,以接合该部件并将其压到该凸缘上。优选地,该枢轴或销具有另一凸缘,当该环在适当位置时,该另一凸缘与该环远离该部件的边缘接合。
由于环是通过其上的凸出部与部件接合的,因此当环接合部件时那些凸出部会局部变形。替代地或此外,该部件中容纳该环的孔可以是锥形的。
该环可以是诸如那些在参照图1所描述的已知装置中使用的容隙环。这种环围绕其圆周具有多个凸出部,其凸出部均匀间隔开以限定一波形圆周轮廓。如上文所述,然后容隙环的凸出部以既产生径向力又产生轴向力的方式接合该部件。也可使用改型的容隙环,例如,使用具有圆周肋的容隙环,该圆周肋在使用中邻近第一凸缘并为容隙环提供一定的轴向弹性。此外,虽然通常的容隙环在除了凸出部之外的部分是轴向笔直的,但是容隙环在轴向上也可能是弓形的,以同样提供一定的弹性。

具体实施方式
首先参考图4,使用一个为容隙环32的开口环将诸如硬盘驱动器的动臂机构的薄部件30安装到诸如硬盘驱动器的枢轴组件的枢轴或销31上。该枢轴或销31具有第一凸缘33和在其远离凸缘33的末端的另一凸缘34,其中部件30被容隙环32压到该第一凸缘33上,容隙环32的远离部件30的轴向末端邻接该凸缘34,从而阻止该容隙环32在图4中向上移动。

通常,除在凸出部之外,容隙环在轴向上是直的。因此,例如在图7a中,环在凸出部51之间的部分54平行于轴线。图7c显示了一个带有凸出部61和开口62的改体的容隙环60,除了该环是弓形的之外,它基本类似于图7a的容隙环。因此,在凸出部61间的部分64不平行于环60的轴线,而是弧形的以使得它们的末端比其中点更接近环60的轴线。因此可以认为图7c中的装置是一个改体的容隙环,尽管容隙环通常不是像这样是弓形的。
