一种使用丙烯和/或丙烷,通过逆流液液萃取处理含丙二醇和/或其烷基醚的含水物流,以从含水物流中分离出丙二醇和/或醚的方法。

Description

从含水物流中除去丙二醇和丙二醇醚
技术领域
本发明涉及一种从含丙二醇和丙二醇醚的含水物流中分离这些物质的改进方法。
背景技术
在改进环氧丙烷的制备方法方面,人们已经进行了大量研究。所述方法包括直接氧化法,其中丙烯、氧气和氢气的混合物在适当的催化剂存在下发生反应,形成环氧丙烷。参见,例如US专利6710192、6063942、6281369、6005123等。
在上述过程中,产生大量废水物流,其中含有通常少量的丙二醇和丙二醇醚。虽然能够通过蒸馏法分离丙二醇和醚,但是由于需要蒸发几乎所有的水而导致成本高昂。
因此,本发明的一个重要目的在于设计全新的、改进的方法,用于分离丙二醇及其低级烷基醚。
发明内容
现已发现,可以使用丙烷和/或丙烯作为萃取剂,通过逆流液液萃取从含丙二醇和丙二醇醚的含水物流中有效分离出上述物质。

以下附图用于阐述本发明的实施过程。
具体实施方式
本发明的方法尤其适用于处理以直接氧化法制备环氧丙烷过程中形成的含水物流。所述含水物流主要包括水,还含有明显量的丙二醇和丙二醇烷基醚。通常该物流中的丙二醇含量约1-30重量%,优选5-15重量%,丙二醇烷基醚含量约0.5重量%-约10重量%,优选约1重量%-5重量%。
现已发现,丙二醇及其醚可以使用丙烷和/或丙烯作为萃取剂,通过液液萃取过程有效分离。由于环氧丙烷生产过程一般均存在丙烷和丙烯,因此本发明的分离方法可以使用整个过程中所用的材料进行,而无需使用外来的且加大成本的材料。
通过参照附图也许能够最佳地描述本发明。参照附图,萃取器1表示具有至少5块理论塔板,优选具有至少8块理论塔板的常规多级液液萃取塔。
将含丙二醇和丙二醇醚的含水物流经管线2引入萃取器的上段,而丙烷和/或丙烯的液体萃取剂物流经管线3引入萃取器1的下段。萃取器1的条件是使得丙烷和/或丙烯萃取剂物流在萃取器中的逆流萃取接触过程中保持液相。在萃取器中,丙烷和/或丙烯物流与含丙二醇和/或丙二醇醚的含水物流按常规萃取方式充分接触和混合。萃取剂流向上流经萃取器并与萃取后的丙二醇及其醚一起经由管线4除去。含水物流向下流经萃取器1并经由管线5除去,其中的丙二醇及其醚的含量大大降低。
萃取剂流经管线4通往蒸馏塔6,萃取剂丙烷和/或丙烯经管线7从塔顶除去,可在萃取过程中重复使用或用于其他用途,而萃取后的丙二醇和醚经管线8分离后是可利用的,例如作为燃料。
有机萃取剂流是丙烯、丙烷或其基本上任意比例的混合物。如上所述,待萃取的含水物流含少量丙二醇和/或醚,最主要是甲醚。
萃取器的条件是有效提供液相的丙烯和/或丙烷萃取剂。说明性的条件是50℉或更低的温度,以及约200psia或更高的压力。适合的液相条件可以由各种现有技术已知、易于获得的计算机程序,诸如ASPEN PLUS,方便地确定。调节含水物流和烃萃取剂的相对流速,以利于丙二醇和/或醚的充分接触和萃取。一般每磅待纯化含水物流使用约1-5磅烃萃取剂是适当的比例,尽管也可以使用该范围以外的量。
以下实施例用于阐述本发明。
在50℉温度和200psia压力下,将来自直接氧化环氧丙烷法中产生的含水物流以约74764lbs/hr的速率经由管线2引入萃取器1。含水物流含约2wt%丙二醇和约10wt%丙二醇单甲醚。
在约50℉温度和250psia压力下,液体丙烯萃取剂物流以约210406lbs/hr的速率进料,经由管线3引入萃取器1。
萃取器1是带有约8块理论塔板的常规液液塔式萃取器。将互不混溶的液体在萃取器1中进行充分萃取性接触,萃取液丙烯流以219019lbs/hr的速率经由管线4除去。萃取液丙烯流含有从含水进料流中萃取出来的0.7重量%的丙二醇和3.2重量%的丙二醇单甲醚。萃取液流通往蒸馏塔6进行各种组分的分离。
含水萃余流以约66150lbs/hr的速率从萃取器1中除去。所述处理后的含水物流中二醇和醚的含量大大降低,含约0.1wt%丙二醇和约0.3wt%丙二醇单甲醚。该物流还可以进一步按需处理。
使用丙烷或丙烷/丙烯混合物作为萃取剂,可得到类似结果。
从上述内容可以看出,本发明的萃取方法能高效地从含水工艺物流中分离丙二醇及其醚,所述方法比其它诸如蒸馏的分离方法成本大大降低,而且仅使用了,例如也在环氧丙烷生产中所使用的材料。

Claims (5)

1.一种从含少量丙二醇和/或丙二醇烷基醚的含水物流中分离这些物质的方法,包括将所述含水物流与液体丙烷和/或丙烯萃取剂以逆流液液萃取方式接触,并将含被萃取的丙二醇和/或丙二醇烷基醚的液体丙烷和/或丙烯流与丙二醇和/或丙二醇烷基醚含量已降低的含水物流分开。
2.权利要求1的方法,其中萃取剂是丙烷。
3.权利要求1的方法,其中萃取剂是丙烯。
4.权利要求1的方法,其中萃取剂是丙烷和丙烯的混合物。
5.权利要求1的方法,其中丙二醇烷基醚是丙二醇单甲醚。
