技术领域
本发明通常涉及电子设备,更具体地,涉及一种用于诸如手机等电子设备的可变换用户外观的外壳,以及其结合和方法。
背景技术
无线通讯手机的成功市场营销在某种程度上依赖于其风格潮流以及用户个性化和定制其设备的能力,包括其美学外观。
具有可互换彩色的面板和其它用户可互换/配置部件的手机,对客户和生产厂家等等具有很大的吸引力。具有彩色互换性能的面板以及外壳的其它部分允许用户个性化其手机,比如根据个人喜好表现其心情或者心理,与众不同,彰显尊贵。
本领域的普通技术人员结合下面的附图以及本发明的详细说明,将对本发明的各个方面,特征以及其优点更加清楚。

具体实施方式
图1是无线通讯手机100的示例,其通常包括电子通讯电路,该电路典型地包括安装在具有输入键盘120的印刷电路板1 10上的集成和分立元件,比如凸起形的输入键,以及某些实施例中的显示屏130。
在实施例中,电子电路至少是部分地被包容在一个外壳之中,该外壳包括一个上外壳部分140以及一个下外壳部分150。示例的上外壳部分140包括一个显示窗口142,显示窗口周围分布有显示边框144,以及在一个实施例中包括有固定的键区148,该键区148上分布有用来激活印刷电路板110上的输入键盘120的用户按键。
外壳或者至少其部分具有外观变换性能。在一个实施例中,外壳或者其部分含有电铬材料,它在施加到其上的电压的作用下可以变化颜色。
图2表示电铬材料200,它通常包括位于上下电铬聚合物层220和222之间的一个凝胶电解层210,上下电铬聚合物层220和222位于上下透明导电层230和232之间,透明导电层230和232又位于上下透明层240和242之间。在实施例中,来自于直流电压源250的可变电压输出施加到透明导电层230和232上。
在图3中,电铬材料300为电铬聚合物,其包括位于阳极变色聚合物电铬材料320和322之间的固态凝胶电解层310,电铬材料320和322又位于透明导电层330和332之间,导电层330和332位于透明绝缘基板340和342之间。在别的实施例中,也可以采用其它的电铬材料。
一个彩色控制电路通常包括一个直流电压源350以及一个可变电阻360,该彩色控制电路与透明导电层330和332连接。也可以采用其它的可变电源,比如可变电流源。
在示例实施例中,通过改变施加在透明导电层上的电压来改变电铬材料的颜色。用户操作位于手机上的机械式电位计或者最好是一个软件控制的输入,比如是该设备的软件设置模式中的菜单选项,就可以改变被施加电压从而改变外壳的彩色。
在图4中,控制电路410的电压由可变电阻设置,产生对应于外壳部分420的第一种颜色的第一彩色外观。在图5中,控制电路510的电压产生对应于外壳部分520的第二种颜色的第二彩色外观。在图6中,控制电路610的电压产生对应于外壳部分620的第三种颜色的第三彩色外观。在图7中,控制电路710的电压产生对应于外壳部分720的第四种颜色的第四彩色外观。在图4-7中,外壳或者部分外壳420,520,620和720的不同的颜色以剖视图用不同的阴影表示。
在其它的实施例中,外壳的外观随输入可变部分是不同于变彩色电铬聚合物材料的其它材料,从而外壳的外观随输入可变部分根据除可变电压以外的其它可变输入改变其外观。
例如,在一个实施例中,外壳的外观随输入可变部分是光铬材料,可以根据阳光的变化变换颜色。在另一个替代实施例中,外壳的外观随输入可变部分是热铬材料,它可以根据温度的变化改变外观,比如用户的手接触外壳时产生的热量输入。在另一个替换实施例中,外壳的外观随输入可变部分是角度敏感铬材料(gonio-chromic material),可以根据反射光的角度变化改变外观。外壳或者其部分也可以是这些材料和其它材料的组合,包括上述的变色电铬材料。
本发明可以在无线通讯手机上实施,也可以更普遍地在任何电子设备上实施,使其外壳具有上述的外观变换性能。在图8的方框810中,手机或者其它电子设备的用户可以给它施加变化的输入,比如通过选择可变电压,或者给设备施加体温,或者把它暴露在阳光或者其它的入射光线之中。
在方框820中,外壳的外观变换性能随着方框810中的施加给设备的可变用户输入而发生改变。在示例的实施例中,可变用户输入是通过选择电子控制电路的电压提供的,电子控制电路的可变电压输出和外壳的电铬材料部分连接,随着施加到其上的可变电压来改变外壳的电铬材料部分的颜色从而改变外观变换性能。
在一个实施例中,基本上整个外壳由外观随输入可变的材料形成,在其它实施例中,只有外壳的一部分由这种材料形成。在图1中,比如上外壳140或者其中的面板部分145可以包含电铬材料。同样,只有外壳的显示屏外框部分144、或者只有键区148、或者两者的组合包含电铬材料。这样,外壳或者外壳的一部分可能包含聚合物或者塑料外壳部分,比如面板、边框或者键区具有外观随输入变化材料的部分。同样,外壳部分的整个壳体可以为外观随输入变化的材料。
虽然以本发明的发明人所掌握的方式来介绍了本发明和被认为是最佳的实施例,使得本领域的普通技术人员可以实施和使用本发明,可以理解和想到,这里公开的实施例可以有很多替代方案,在不背离本发明的精神和宗旨的情况下,可以作各种改进和变化,本发明并不是由示例的实施例所限定,而是由权利要求书所限定。

Claims (11)

1.一种电子设备,其包括:
电子硬件;
分布在电子硬件的至少一部分周围的外壳,
所述外壳的至少一部分包含外观随输入可变部分,
具有耦合至所述外壳的外观随输入可变部分的用户可变输出的控制电路,
由此,所述外壳的外观随输入可变部分随着所述控制电路的用户可变输出而改变外观。
2.如权利要求1所述的电子设备,其中,所述外壳的外观随输入可变部分是发光聚合物材料。
3.如权利要求1所述的电子设备,其中,所述外壳的外观随输入可变部分是电铬材料,所述控制电路具有跨接在该电铬材料上的可变电压输出。
4.如权利要求3所述的电子设备,其中,所述的电铬材料为电铬聚合物。
5.如权利要求3所述的电子设备,其中,所述的电铬材料包括被固态凝胶电解层隔开的阳极变色聚合物层和阴极变色层,该阳极和阴极变色层位于第一和第二透明导电层之间。
6.如权利要求5所述的电子设备,其中,所述的电铬材料包括第一和第二透明绝缘层,所述第一和第二透明导电层位于所述第一和第二绝缘层之间。
7.如权利要求5所述的电子设备,所述控制电路具有和第一透明导电层连接的第一输出,所述控制电路具有通过可变电阻元件和第二透明导电层连接的第二输出。
8.如权利要求1所述的电子设备,所述的电铬材料包括被固态凝胶电解层隔开的阳极变色聚合物层和阴极变色层,该阳极和阴极变色层位于第一和第二透明导电层之间。
9.一种用于具有带随着可变输入而改变外观性能部分的外壳的无线通信手机中的方法,其包括:
向所述无线通讯手机提供可变用户输入;
响应施加到所述无线通讯手机上的可变用户输入,改变所述外壳上的随输入可变而变化的外观性能部分的外观变换性能。
10.如权利要求9所述的方法,通过选择电子控制电路施加的电压来提供所述可变用户输入,所述电子控制电路具有耦合至所述外壳的电铬部分的可变电压输出。
11.如权利要求9所述的方法,响应被施加到其上的电压,通过改变所述外壳的电铬部分的颜色,从而改变所述外观变换性能。
