Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明涉及一种涂布喷墨记录片材以及用于制备该片材的涂料组合物。具体地说,本发明涉及适合制备具有良好适印特性的有光喷墨片材的涂料组合物。
背景技术
喷墨印刷方法是众所周知的。此种系统以各种不同密度和速度将墨滴喷射到片材,例如,纸上。当采用多色喷墨系统时,此种方法在非常靠近的区域喷射大量性质和吸水速率各异、颜色各异的彩色油墨。的确,此类多色系统设计得能提供模拟照相成象的图象,因此此类图象要求高分辨率和色域。因此,喷墨记录片材必须能吸收高密度油墨,能使沉积的彩色鲜艳和清晰,其吸收速度应促使快干,吸收油墨以使之不扩散或涂污,产生光滑图象的效果。
为满足这些目标,人们已经向纸涂料中加入高孔隙率颜料,例如,多孔二氧化硅。二氧化硅基涂布体系在满足适印性目标上是成功的。然而,要获得这些性能并产生传统照相体系中看到的典型非消光或有光表面效果却难以达到。上述多孔颜料通常具有高于1cc/g的孔隙率并具有大于1μm的平均粒度。此种粒度和孔隙率增加了最终涂层的表面粗糙度,从而使入射光发生偏转,将其散射,从而使涂层消光。
为提高此种涂层的光泽,在由上述多孔颜料制备的受墨层上面设置第二光泽层。此种罩面层由固有光泽基料体系组成,或者由含有基料和粒度小得多的无机氧化物颗粒,例如,传统胶态二氧化硅的层制成。胶态二氧化硅在后一种方法中趋于强化表面涂层的受墨特性,但粒度又不大到足以导致表面变形。然而,胶态颗粒在高浓度下具有聚集倾向,从而导致罩面层瑕疵和表面粗糙,并从而降低光泽。因此,当采用此种做法时,一直采用较低浓度(即,低胶态固体∶基料固体比)。
因此,若能提高这些罩面层中的无机氧化物固体含量以进一步改善适印性,那将是相当可心的。的确,若能采用具有至少1∶1胶态固体/基料固体比例的涂层,更优选采用具有高达4∶1胶态二氧化硅固体与基料比例的涂层而同时又保持可接受光泽,那将是可心的。
再者,喷墨纸用的涂布体系常常被设计成具有一定总阳离子电荷。许多用于喷墨方法中的油墨具有负电荷;因此,可心的是,涂布成分具有能固定油墨的相反电荷。胶态铝具有正电荷并被广泛用于此种用途的涂布颜料。也使用阳离子染料固定成分和阳离子基料。的确,后面这些带阳离子电荷的材料的存在通常要求,涂料中的诸颜料成分是阳离子或至少非离子的。否则,该涂料中的材料将趋于聚集,从而造成表面瑕疵和降低光泽。因此,若能提供一种含有较高含量阳离子二氧化硅固体的涂层那将是可心的,这正是本发明的目的。
发明内容
本发明提供一种包含基材及其上至少一个涂层的喷墨记录片材,所述至少一个涂层(a)具有至少30的沿60°的镜面光泽,(b)含有阳离子胶态二氧化硅、其具有满足下式的二氧化硅固体与碱金属之比:SiO2/碱金属≥AW(-0.013SSA+9),以及(c)基料,其中胶态二氧化硅固体和基料固体以至少1∶1的重量比存在,AW是碱金属的原子量,而SSA是胶态二氧化硅的比表面积。
优选的是,胶态二氧化硅固体与基料固体之比介于约6∶4~约4∶1。
优选的是,胶态二氧化硅的二氧化硅固体与碱金属之比至少是150。
优选的是,胶态二氧化硅具有约1~约300nm的平均粒度。
更优选的是,二氧化硅固体与碱金属之比满足下式:SiO2/碱金属≥-0.30SSA+207,并且碱金属是钠。
本发明的目的又是一种涂料组合物,它包含(a)阳离子胶态二氧化硅,其固体与碱金属之比满足下式:SiO2/碱金属≥AW(-0.013SSA+9),以及(b)基料,其中(a)的二氧化硅固体和(b)的基料固体以至少1∶1的重量比存在,AW是碱金属的原子量,而SSA是胶态二氧化硅的比表面积。

进一步更优选地,胶态二氧化硅具有15~100nm的中值粒度并具有这样的粒度分布,即,至少80%颗粒分布在从至少30nm到最高约70nm的粒度范围。
现已发现,具有较低含量碱金属,例如,钠,的阳离子胶态二氧化硅提供在较高固体含量下不聚集的胶态二氧化硅,从而减轻涂层表面的变形和消光。

所谓术语“胶态二氧化硅”或“胶态二氧化硅溶胶”,系指源于这样的分散体或溶胶的微粒,在这些分散体或溶胶中颗粒经历较长时间也不从分散体中沉降。此种颗粒的粒度通常小于1μm。平均粒度介于约1~约300nm的胶态二氧化硅及其制备方法在技术上是熟知的。参见,美国专利2,244,325;2,574,902;2,577,484;2,577,485;2,631,134;2,750,345;2,892,797;3,012,972;和3,440,174,在此将其内容收作参考。平均粒度介于5~100nm的胶态二氧化硅更为本发明所优选。胶态二氧化硅可具有介于9~约2700m2/g的表面面积(按BET法测定)。
特别适合本发明的胶态二氧化硅是所谓多分散胶态二氧化硅。“多分散”在这里的定义是指某种颗粒的分散体,其粒度分布中的中值粒度介于15~100nm的范围,并且具有比较大的分布跨度。优选的分布是,80%颗粒分布在从至少30nm直至最高70nm的粒度范围。该80%范围是用从采用下面将要描述的TEM-基粒度测定法产生的d90粒度中减去d10粒度获得的差值来衡量的。该范围也称作“80%跨度”。多分散颗粒的一种实施方案的粒度分布偏向粒度小于中值粒度的粒度一边。结果,该分布具有位于那一区域的一个峰值和大于中值的“尾部”粒度。参见附图1。涵盖80%颗粒的跨度的下限和上限粒度可分别为中值的-11%~-70%和110%~160%。一种特别合适的多分散二氧化硅的中值粒度位于20~30nm的粒度范围,而80%颗粒则介于10~50nm之间,即,分布的80%具有40nm的跨度。
大多数胶态二氧化硅溶胶还含有碱。该碱一般是周期表IA族的碱金属氢氧化物(锂、钠、钾等的氢氧化物)。大多数市售的胶态二氧化硅溶胶含有氢氧化钠,它们至少部分地源于制造胶态二氧化硅使用的硅酸钠,尽管也可加入氢氧化钠,以稳定溶胶从而防止胶凝化。
一般而言,胶态二氧化硅具有净负电荷,因此是阴离子的,这是由存在于二氧化硅表面的硅烷醇基团失去质子造成的。就本发明的目的而言,胶态二氧化硅在以下情况下被认为是阳离子的,即,当一种阴离子胶态二氧化硅经过物理涂布或化学处理,从而使胶态二氧化硅具有净正电荷时。于是,阳离子二氧化硅将包括这样的胶态二氧化硅,其中二氧化硅的表面含有充足数目阳离子官能团,例如,金属离子如铝或铵阳离子,以致二氧化硅表面的净电荷呈正。
已知有几种类型阳离子胶态二氧化硅。此种阳离子胶态二氧化硅描述在美国专利3,007,878中,在此将其内容收作参考。扼要地说,一种致密胶态二氧化硅溶胶通过令该溶胶与三价或四价金属的碱式盐接触而稳定化,于是被包覆。三价金属可以是铝、铬、镓、铟或铊,而四价金属可以是钛、锗、锆、正锡、铈、铪和钍。铝是优选的。
多价金属盐中的阴离子,除了氢氧根离子之外,应选择那些能使盐可溶于水的。要知道,当在这里提到该盐除了氢氧根之外还具有一价阴离子这一事实时,这意思不是要从盐中排除氢氧根,而是指出,除了氢氧根之外该盐还含有另一种阴离子。于是,所用的碱式盐都被包括在内,只要它们可溶于水并且能产生下面所描述的的离子关系。
优选地,带正电二氧化硅的胶态溶胶通过在胶态二氧化硅颗粒表面沉积氧化铝而制成。这可通过以碱式铝盐如乙酸铝或碱性铝处理带负电的二氧化硅水凝胶来实现。制备此种带正电二氧化硅溶胶的方法公开在Moore,美国专利3,620,978;Moore,美国专利3,956,171;Moore,美国专利3,719,607;Moore,美国专利3,745,126;和Bergna,美国专利4,217,240,在此全部收入本文作为参考。铝处理导致在胶体颗粒表面的铝∶二氧化硅的比例介于约1∶19~约4∶1。这里优选使用的是约1∶2~约2∶1的铝∶表面二氧化硅的比值。该溶胶在微酸性pH值范围将变得稳定,这可通过加入少量酸,例如,乙酸,或者将溶胶送过强酸性离子交换树脂来实现。
如上面所指出,本发明阳离子胶态二氧化硅溶胶具有比市售供应的胶态二氧化硅溶胶显著低的碱金属离子含量。较低的碱含量可通过计算胶态二氧化硅溶胶的二氧化硅固体与钠的重量比来证明,正如在公式1中所示。图2显示,可接受的光泽可从胶态二氧化硅溶胶利用下式获得:

SiO2/碱金属是胶态二氧化硅溶胶中二氧化硅固体与碱金属含量之间的重量比。AW是碱金属的原子量,例如,锂是6.9,钠是23,钾是39,且SSA是胶态二氧化硅颗粒的比表面积,m2/g。当碱金属是钠时,SiO2/碱金属比≥-0.30SSA+207。
低碱阳离子胶态二氧化硅可通过将它去离子直至胶态二氧化硅与碱金属具有公式1规定的比例的程度。所谓“去离子的”指的是,任何金属离子,例如,碱金属离子,例如,钠,已被从胶态二氧化硅溶液中去除。去除碱金属离子的方法是众所周知的,包括与适当离子交换树脂进行离子交换(美国专利2,577,484和2,577,485),渗析(美国专利2,773,028)和电渗析(美国专利3,969,266)。
如下面所指出,胶态二氧化硅可结合到传统涂料基料中。该基料不仅起粘合胶态二氧化硅和形成漆膜的作用,而且给上光层与基材之间的界面或上光层与基材之间的任何中间受墨层提供胶粘性。
阳离子和非离子基料特别适合本发明。合适的基料包括但不限于,具有官能阳离子基团的苯乙烯-丁二烯或苯乙烯-丙烯酸酯共聚物和/或阳离子聚醋酸乙烯、阳离子聚乙烯醇或其共聚物。
再有,基料可选自分解的和天然的以阳离子形式存在的瓜耳胶、淀粉、甲基纤维素、羟甲基纤维素、羧甲基纤维素、海藻酸盐、蛋白质和聚乙烯醇。蛋白质之所以也适合是因为它们是两性的。
阳离子水溶性基料的具体例子包括,例如,二乙氨基乙基化淀粉、三甲基乙基氯化铵改性的淀粉和二乙氨基乙基铵甲基化氯盐-改性的淀粉;和阳离子-改性的丙烯酸酯共聚物。
合适的非离子水溶性基料包括但不限于,聚乙烯醇、羟乙基纤维素、甲基纤维素、糊精、pluran、淀粉、阿拉伯胶、葡聚糖、聚乙二醇、聚乙烯基吡咯烷酮、聚丙烯酰胺和聚丙二醇。
水乳液形式、不溶于水或难溶于水的阳离子或非离子基料,包括但不限于丙烯酸和甲基丙烯酸共聚物树脂,例如,甲基丙烯酸甲酯-丙烯酸丁酯共聚物树脂、甲基丙烯酸甲酯-丙烯酸乙酯共聚物树脂、甲基丙烯酸甲酯-丙烯酸-2-乙基己酯共聚物树脂、甲基丙烯酸甲酯-丙烯酸甲酯共聚物树脂、苯乙烯-丙烯酸丁酯共聚物树脂、苯乙烯-丙烯酸-2-乙基己酯共聚物树脂、苯乙烯-丙烯酸乙酯共聚物树脂、苯乙烯-丙烯酸甲酯共聚物树脂、甲基丙烯酸甲酯-苯乙烯-丙烯酸丁酯共聚物树脂、甲基丙烯酸甲酯-苯乙烯-丙烯酸-2-乙基己酯共聚物树脂、甲基丙烯酸甲酯-苯乙烯-丙烯酸乙酯共聚物树脂、甲基丙烯酸甲酯-苯乙烯-丙烯酸甲酯共聚物树脂、苯乙烯-丙烯酸丁酯-丙烯腈共聚物树脂以及苯乙烯-丙烯酸乙酯-丙烯腈共聚物树脂。
其它合适的基料包括酪蛋白、明胶、马来酐树脂、共轭二烯型共聚物胶乳如乙烯基型聚合物胶乳,例如,乙烯-醋酸乙烯共聚物;合成树脂型基料,例如,聚氨酯树脂、不饱和聚酯树脂、氯乙烯-醋酸乙烯共聚物、聚乙烯醇缩丁醛或醇酸树脂。
基料可采用传统混炼机和混合机与胶态二氧化硅混合。诸组分可在环境条件下合并并混合。
可心的是,胶态二氧化硅固体与基料固体以(二者之间)较高比例存在于涂料中。现已发现,在某些实施方案中,较高二氧化硅∶基料的比例给最终受墨涂层片材提供好的适印性,同时也提供有利的机械性能。特别可心的是,胶态二氧化硅与基料固体以至少1∶1的比例存在,更优选6∶4~4∶1重量比。该比例可高达9.9∶1。胶态二氧化硅比基料固体的比例在这里也称作颜料与基料之比。
也可心的是,在本发明涂料组合物中包括附加组分。本发明涂料可含有一种或多种下列组分:分散剂、增稠剂、流动改进剂、消泡剂、抑泡剂、脱模剂、发泡剂、渗透剂、着色染料、着色颜料、荧光增白剂、紫外线吸收剂、抗氧化剂、防腐剂、防尘剂、防水剂和湿强度剂。
阳离子染料媒染剂是一种优选的添加剂。合适的媒染剂的例子包括但不限于,聚合物季铵化合物,或碱性聚合物,例如,聚(二甲氨基乙基)甲基丙烯酸酯、聚亚烷基多胺及其与二氰基二酰胺的缩合产物、胺-表氯醇缩聚物;卵磷脂和磷脂化合物。此种媒染剂的具体例子包括下列化合物:乙烯基苄基三甲基氯化铵/乙二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯;聚(二烯丙基二甲基氯化铵);聚(2-N,N,N-三甲铵)乙基的甲基丙烯酸酯的甲硫酸盐;聚(3-N,N,N-三甲铵)丙基的甲基丙烯酸酯的氯化物;乙烯基吡咯烷酮与乙烯基(N-甲基咪唑啉翁的氯化物;以及以3-N,N,N-三甲基铵)丙基化氯衍生的羟乙基纤维素。在优选的实施方案中,阳离子媒染剂是季铵化合物。
可用于本发明的媒染剂可以达到预定目的有效的数量使用。一般而言,良好的结果在媒染剂以整个涂料配方的约0.1~10wt%的数量存在时取得。这些媒染剂在基料为非离子化合物时尤其优选。
本发明阳离子胶态二氧化硅的一部分也可由一种或多种其它胶态物质替代,例如,具有较高含量碱金属的那些材料,只要胶态二氧化硅和其它材料的组合中存在的碱金属总量满足由公式1给出的二氧化硅固体与碱金属之比的关系,并且此种胶体材料的存在不改变最终涂层所要求的整体阳离子特性或光泽。这些其它胶态材料可以是二氧化硅,也可以是二氧化硅以外的无机氧化物,例如,二氧化钛、氧化锆等。此种附加无机氧化物胶态颗粒可作为填料和/或作为附加颜料加入。
本发明的涂层具有,根据BYK Gardner测定仪器,至少30的沿60°光泽。优选的本发明涂层具有,在6∶4胶态二氧化硅/基料比例条件下,至少80的光泽,优选在4∶1胶态二氧化硅/基料比下,至少70的光泽。进一步优选地,涂层具有在4∶1胶态二氧化硅/基料比下,至少90的光泽。
合适制备本发明喷墨记录片材的基材可以是技术上使用的典型基材。合适的基材包括重量介于约40~约300g/m2的那些。该基材可以是由各种各样方法和机器,例如长网造纸机、圆网造纸机或双长网造纸机制备的。基材通过其主要组分的混合来生产,包括:传统颜料和木浆,例如包括,化学浆、机械浆和废纸浆,连同各种各样添加剂当中的至少一种,包括粘结剂、施胶剂、固定剂、得率改进剂、阳离子剂和纸强度-增加剂。其它基材包括透明基材、织物等。
另外,基材也可以是采用淀粉或聚乙烯醇施胶-压制的纸张。基材也可以是其上带有固着涂层的基材,例如,在基础纸上已经具有初步涂层的纸。基础纸也可具有在本发明涂料施涂之前就涂上去的受墨层。
包含胶态二氧化硅、基料和任选添加剂的涂料可在基材制造过程中被在线地施涂上去,或者在基材制成以后离线地涂布。涂料可采用传统涂布技术施涂,例如,空气刀涂布、辊涂、刮涂、缠绕棒涂布、帘涂、模涂和采用计量施胶的压机的方法。产生的涂层可在环境室温干燥,采用热空气干燥方法、加热表面接触干燥或辐射干燥来完成干燥。就典型而言,本发明涂料组合物以及任何任选的中间层按照1~50g/m2的涂布量,更常见按2~20g/m2涂布。
下面的例子显示具有良好适印性的有光喷墨记录片材可基本上由基材和一个本发明的层制成。然而,某些情况下可心的是,在本发明光泽提供层与基材之间放上另一层,也就是受墨层,以提高最终片材的适印性。例如,以某种去离子胶态二氧化硅涂布的片材将优选含有在光泽层与基材之间的单独受墨层,以改进最终喷墨记录片材的适印性。
合适的受墨层是例如,在美国专利5,576,088中公开的那种,在此收作参考。扼要地,合适的受墨层包含基料,如上面列举的水溶性基料,以及受墨颜料。此类颜料包括无机白颜料如轻质碳酸钙、重质碳酸钙、碳酸镁、高岭土、滑石、硫酸钙、硫酸钡、二氧化钛、氧化锌、硫化锌、碳酸锌、缎白、硅酸铝、硅藻土、硅酸钙、硅酸镁、合成无定形二氧化硅、胶态二氧化硅、氧化铝、胶态氧化铝、假勃姆石、氢氧化铝、锌钡白、沸石、水解埃洛石或氢氧化镁、或者有机颜料,例如,苯乙烯型塑料颜料、丙烯酸塑料颜料、聚乙烯、微胶囊、脲醛树脂或蜜胺树脂。适合受墨层的颜料具有介于0.5~3.0μm(按光散射测定)的平均粒度和0.5~3.0cc/g的孔隙体积,优选1.0~2.0cc/g的孔隙体积,根据氮气孔隙度测定法测定。为获得具有高油墨吸收性的喷墨记录片材,优选的是,受墨层中的颜料含有至少30%(体积)粒度至少是1.0μm的颗粒。
本发明的优选实施方案和操作模式已在上面说明书正文中做了说明。虽然本发明意在要求对所公开的特定实施方案的保护,然而却不应认为仅限于这些内容,因为它们只拟作为举例说明而不具有限制性。因此,在不偏离本发明精神的前提下本领域技术人员可制定出各种变换方案和修改。
另外,本说明或权利要求中给出的任何数字范围,例如,代表一组特定性质、条件、物理状态的那些以及百分数都应从字意上包括如此列举的任何范围的任何子范围。
具体实施方式
下面列举和/或前面指出的参数按如下所述测定:
平均粒度——除非另行指出,否则是采用公式SSA=3100/dn确定的数均粒度,其中dn是平均粒度,SSA是下面定义的比表面积。
中值粒度——是采用电子显微镜(TEM)测定的数量加权中值。
光泽——采用预先用透明膜校准的BYK Gardner micro-TRI-gloss仪器测定。光泽值是采用60°的几何形状测定的。
碱金属(例如,Na)含量——基于碱金属离子含量的重量百分率,采用电感偶合等离子体-原子发射(ICP-AES)光谱术测定。首先将样品在环境条件,例如,25℃和75%相对湿度下,溶解在氢氟酸和硝酸(30/70重量比)中,然后再用此法。测定前,让样品溶解16h。
二氧化硅固体含量——在205℃的Ohaus炉中测定,固体含量测定的终点取为样品重量在60s内改变小于0.01g时。
比表面积——采用与氮气吸附测得的表面积相关的滴定方法,正如G.W.Sears Jr.,《分析化学》卷28,p.1981(1956)中给出的。
实施例1(比较例)
MartoxinGL3(SSA=332m2/g)氧化铝,由Martinwerks供应,按照制造商的程序配制成胶体溶液。MartoxinGL3粉末按照15%固体含量加入到去离子(DI)水中并搅拌5min。随后用乙酸将pH值调节到4.5,该淤浆再搅拌10min。在终点,pH值利用乙酸再次调节到4.5.21.015g(15wt%)上面制备的胶态氧化铝淤浆放入到烧杯中。向其中加入4.85g Airvol523(15.5wt%溶液)聚乙烯醇。随后,在该混合物中加入以0.768g去离子水稀释的0.19g AgeflocB50染料媒染剂。配成的制剂被涂布到杜邦公司生产的MelinexTM-534聚酯不透明白色薄膜上成为100μm湿膜,其中采用TMI涂布器(Kcontrol涂布器),采用8号棒沉积100μm膜厚。获得的涂层具有93%沿60°的光泽。
实施例2(比较例)
10.01g LudoxCL-P(40%固体;140 SSA;22nm平均粒度;wt%Na=0.250;SiO2/Na=160)W.R.Grace公司,-Conn.生产的阳离子胶态二氧化硅被放入到烧杯中,并以10.31g去离子水稀释。向其中加入5.81g Airvol523(15.5wt%溶液)聚乙烯醇,随后加入0.22g AgeflocB50(50wt%)。配成的制剂按照实施例1所述涂布在聚酯薄膜上。获得的涂层具有4%沿60°的光泽。这样相对低的光泽与公式1是一致的,根据该式,SiO2/Na必须等于或大于165才能获得可接受的光泽。
实施例3(比较例)
12.06g LudoxCL(30%固体;230SSA;12nm平均粒度;%Na=0.260;SiO2/Na=115)W.R.Grace公司,-Conn.生产的胶态二氧化硅被放入到烧杯中,并以6.31g去离子水稀释。向其中加入5.26gAirvol523(15.5wt%溶液)聚乙烯醇,随后加入0.20g AgeflocB50(50wt%)。配成的制剂按照实施例1所述涂布在聚酯薄膜上。获得的涂层发生龟裂。这样的结果本可从公式1预测到,根据该式,SiO2/Na必须至少是138才能获得可接受的有光涂层。
实施例4
84g去离子水加入到329g LudoxHS-40(W.R.Grace)胶态二氧化硅中,后者含有40.0%SiO2、平均粒度=22nm且比表面积=220m2/g。混合物加热到40~50℃,并在搅拌下一点一点加入氢形式的AmberliteIR-120 Plus阳离子交换树脂,直至pH降低到2.5。维持搅拌和温度1h,在此期间加入少量树脂以便将pH值维持在2.5~3.0的范围。混合物经粗滤纸过滤以便将去离子胶态二氧化硅溶胶与树脂分离。1%氢氧化铵溶液在搅拌下滴加到去离子胶态二氧化硅溶胶中,直至溶胶的pH值达到7.2~7.5的范围。
制成的胶态二氧化硅溶胶在剧烈搅拌下滴加到装有87.2g 45%水合氯化铝(chlorohydrol)(20.7%Al2O3和2∶1的Al∶Cl原子比)中。加毕后,让混合物平衡约12h,随后经过细滤纸过滤。获得的溶胶含有30%固体,表现出3.5的pH值,钠含量是0.06wt%,SiO2/Na比,500。
14.51g上述产物(30wt%)放入到烧杯中,并以7.52g去离子水稀释。向其中加入6.27g Airvol523(15.5wt%溶液)聚乙烯醇。随后,在该混合物中加入0.22g AgeflocB50(50wt%)。配成的制剂在实施例1中描述的条件下被涂布到聚酯薄膜上。获得的涂层具有93%沿60°的光泽。该光泽符合公式1,根据该式,SiO2/Na应至少是141才能获得可接受的光泽。
实施例5
62g去离子水加入到367g LudoxTM-50(W.R.Grace)胶态二氧化硅中,后者含有50.6%SiO2、平均粒度=22nm且比表面积=140m2/g。混合物加热到40~50℃,并在搅拌下一点一点加入氢形式的AmberliteIR-120 Plus阳离子交换树脂,直至pH降低到2.5。维持搅拌和温度1h,在此期间加入少量树脂以便将pH值维持在2.5~3.0的范围。混合物经粗滤纸过滤以便将去离子胶态二氧化硅溶胶与树脂分离。1%氢氧化铵溶液在搅拌下滴加到去离子胶态二氧化硅溶胶中,直至溶胶的pH值达到7.2~7.5的范围。
制成的胶态二氧化硅溶胶在剧烈搅拌下滴加到装有70.8g 45%水合氯化铝(chlorohydrol)(20.7%Al2O3和2∶1的Al∶Cl原子比)中。加毕后,让混合物平衡约12h,随后经过细滤纸过滤。获得的溶胶含有39%固体,表现出3.5的pH值,钠含量是0.099wt%,SiO2/Na比,394。
10.77g上述产物(39wt%)放入到烧杯中,并以10.56g去离子水稀释。向其中加入6.23g Airvol523(15.5wt%溶液)聚乙烯醇。随后,在该混合物中加入0.24g AgeflocB50(50wt%)。配成的制剂被涂布到聚酯薄膜上。获得的涂层具有86%沿60°的光泽。该光泽符合公式1,根据该式,SiO2/Na应至少是165才能获得可接受的光泽。
实施例6
35g去离子水加入到422g比表面积为70m2/g且二氧化硅固体/钠之比为179的多分散胶态二氧化硅(50wt%固体,中值粒度,22nm,以及80%颗粒跨度为约40nm)中。混合物加热到40~50℃,并在搅拌下一点一点加入氢形式的AmberliteIR-120 Plus阳离子交换树脂,直至pH降低到2.5。维持搅拌和温度1h,在此期间加入少量树脂以便将pH值维持在2.5~3.0的范围。混合物经粗滤纸过滤以便将去离子胶态二氧化硅溶胶与树脂分离。1%氢氧化铵溶液在搅拌下滴加到去离子胶态二氧化硅溶胶中,直至溶胶的pH值达到7.2~7.5的范围。
制成的胶态二氧化硅溶胶在剧烈搅拌下滴加到装有43.6g 45%水合氯化铝(chlorohydrol)(20.7%Al2O3和2∶1的Al∶Cl原子比)中。加毕后,让混合物平衡约12h,随后经过细滤纸过滤。获得的溶胶含有42%固体,表现出3.5的pH值,溶胶钠含量是0.110wt%,SiO2/Na比,382。
10.22g上述产物(41.9wt%)放入到烧杯中,并以11.53g去离子水稀释。向其中加入6.22g Airvol523(15.5wt%溶液)聚乙烯醇。随后,在该混合物中加入0.20g AgeflocB50(50wt%)。配成的制剂被涂布到聚酯薄膜上。获得的涂层具有81%沿60°的光泽。该光泽符合公式1,根据该式,SiO2/Na应至少是186才能获得可接受的光泽。

Claims (13)
1.一种喷墨记录片材,它包含基材及其上的至少一种涂层,所述至少一种涂层(a)处于60°时具有至少30的镜面光泽,采用预先用透明膜校准的BYK Gardner micro-TRI-gloss仪器测定,(b)含有阳离子胶态二氧化硅,所述二氧化硅具有满足下式的二氧化硅固体与碱金属之比:
SiO2/碱金属≥AW(-0.013SSA+9)
以及(c)基料,其中胶态二氧化硅固体和基料固体以至少1∶1的重量比存在,AW是碱金属的原子量,且SSA是胶态二氧化硅的比表面积。
2.权利要求1的喷墨记录片材,其中胶态二氧化硅固体与基料固体的比例介于6∶4~4∶1。
3.权利要求1的喷墨记录片材,其中胶态二氧化硅的二氧化硅固体与碱金属的比值至少是150。
4.权利要求1的喷墨记录片材,其中胶态二氧化硅的平均粒度介于1~300nm。
5.权利要求1的喷墨记录片材,其中二氧化硅固体与碱金属之比满足下式:
SiO2/碱金属≥-0.30SSA+207。
6.权利要求1的喷墨记录片材,其中碱金属是钠。
7.一种涂料组合物,包含
(a)阳离子胶态二氧化硅,其具有满足下式的二氧化硅固体与碱金属之比:
SiO2/碱金属≥AW(-0.013SSA+9),以及
(b)基料,
其中(a)的二氧化硅固体和(b)基料固体以至少1∶1的重量比存在,AW是碱金属的原子量,且SSA是胶态二氧化硅的比表面积。
8.权利要求7的涂料组合物,其中(a)的二氧化硅固体和(b)基料固体之比介于6∶4~4∶1。
9.权利要求7的涂料组合物,其中胶态二氧化硅的二氧化硅固体比碱金属之比至少是150。
10.权利要求7的涂料组合物,其中胶态二氧化硅的平均粒度介于1~300nm。
11.权利要求7的涂料组合物,其中二氧化硅固体比碱金属之比满足下式:
SiO2/碱金属≥-0.30SSA+207。
12.权利要求11的涂料组合物,其中碱金属是钠。
