Abstract

La presente invención proporciona un electrodo de generación de oxígeno provisto de una capa catalizadora que tiene una alta conductividad eléctrica específica y una excelente durabilidad, de modo que incluso cuando se electroliza un electrolito ácido, es poco probable que se consuman los componentes catalizadores y se puede realizar la electrólisis a largo plazo. El electrodo de generación de oxígeno es un electrodo de generación de oxígeno 10 provisto de un sustrato 2 formado con titanio o una aleación de titanio, y una capa catalizadora 4 dispuesta sobre el sustrato 2 y formada con un óxido metálico mixto, donde la capa catalizadora 4 cumple al menos una cualquiera de las siguientes condiciones (1) y (2). Condición (1): contiene rutenio, estaño y un elemento metálico trivalente o polivalente superior, excluido un elemento metálico tetravalente. Condición (2): contiene rutenio y estaño, y posee un contenido de rutenio igual o superior al 40% molar según el contenido total de rutenio y estaño.
