Abstract

Un proceso para preparar una emulsión de aglutinante hidrocarbonado modificada con látex catiónico que comprende los pasos de: (a) preparar una emulsión de látex de copolímero catiónico por una polimerización en emulsión de monómeros polimerizables, donde dichos monómeros polimerizables comprenden A- uno o más monómeros no iónicos de ésteres de acrilato y/o ésteres de metacrilato, y B- opcionalmente monómero de estireno y/o uno o más monómeros no iónicos de derivados de estireno, C- opcionalmente uno o más monómeros reticulantes que tienen dos o más dobles enlaces (C=C) etilénicamente insaturados susceptibles a copolimerización por radicales libres, D- opcionalmente uno o más monómeros epoxi funcionales que tienen un doble enlace C=C susceptible a copolimerización por radicales libres y un grupo funcional epóxido, en donde dichos monómeros polimerizables no comprenden ningún monómero de dieno conjugado alifático, en presencia de un tensoactivo estabilizador catiónico, y (b) añadir la emulsión de látex de copolímero catiónico resultante del paso (a) a una emulsión catiónica de aglutinante hidrocarbonado, o 77 (b’) añadir la emulsión de látex de copolímero catiónico resultante del paso (a) a una solución de emulsificante, donde dicha solución de emulsificante comprende agua, uno o más tensoactivos catiónicos, uno o más ácidos y opcionalmente aditivos para proporcionar una mezcla, y añadir la mezcla resultante a aglutinante hidrocarbonado; para formar una emulsión de aglutinante hidrocarbonado modificada con látex catiónico.
