Abstract
Los sistemas y métodos utilizan el intercambio iónico para extraer litio de una solución de alimentación que contiene litio, como una salmuera de salar. Los iones de litio se cargan en una resina de intercambio iónico y luego se eluyen mientras se recarga la resina. Se puede utilizar hidróxido de sodio o bicarbonato de sodio para recargar la resina, pero no se mezclan directamente con la solución de alimentación que contiene litio. Se produce una corriente de eluyente que contiene hidróxido de litio o bicarbonato de litio. El hidróxido de litio puede precipitarse como hidróxido de litio o en forma de hidrato. El bicarbonato de litio puede convertirse en carbonato de litio. El sistema y el método incluyen opcionalmente el procesamiento de una corriente de eluyentes para recuperar uno o más compuestos para su reutilización en la regeneración del lecho de resina.
