Pneumatic tires for vehicle wheels. In order to better protect the air hose against the ingress of pointed foreign bodies in pneumatic wheel tires than is possible with the usual protective cover, a wide variety of proposals have already been made. On the one hand, this was done by arranging a protective insert between the air hose and the tread of the tires, which was associated with considerable difficulties, and on the other hand, by laying the air hose between the hub and the tire, which required significant changes in the construction of the wheel.
In order to achieve such protection of the Luftschlau ches, the subject of the invention forming pneumatic tires for wheels of vehicles, such. B. automobiles, Mo torfahrräder, bicycles, etc., a wreath provided which is worn by the hose covering the air coat.
The tread is held by the jacket by means of this existing claw-like, stiffened, lateral lugs by engaging the two correspondingly profiled longitudinal wheels of the tread, where at the maximum distance between the two lugs in the tire transverse plane by a flexible connecting arm ture is limited and the tread on the inside of the circumference offers space for the flexing of the air hose and jacket on the outside of the circumference, the whole thing in such a way that when the pressure in the tire or tire increases. Wheel plane a firmer contact pressure between the claw-like approaches and the longitudinal edges of the tread occurs.
In the accompanying drawing, two embodiments of the subject invention are shown.
Fig. 1 shows the tire according to the first example in cross section; Fig. 2 illustrates on a smaller scale a view of one half of the circumference of the tire; Fig. 3 shows the tire according to the second example in cross section.
While the first example, imple mentation form for lighter tires ge is suitable, for. B. for passenger cars, Mo torfahrräder and bicycles, the second example embodiment is specifically for wheels with heavy tires, eg. B. for trucks, etc., intended.
In Fig. 1 and 2, 1 denotes the rim, 2 the air hose and 3 the jacket. The jacket 3 covering the air hose has in cross section on the running side left and right each an inwardly directed claw-like projection 4, which extends over the entire circumference of the tire. The two approaches 4 are more suitable. Way stiffened by a fitting 5, and according to the (schematically drawn) course of this fitting from one approach to the other, the maximum distance between these two approaches is limited in the tire transverse plane; on the other hand, this connection is more or less flexible in itself. With 6 the running wreath is designated, which is composed of individual solid rubber segments in the circumferential direction (Fig. 2). The tread.
which is provided inside at the level of the lugs 4 with a stiffening fitting 7, is profiled on the two longitudinal edges according to the shape of the lugs 4: it has for this purpose on each longitudinal edge a groove for the engagement of the relevant to set 4, so that the Tread 6 on the side of the jacket 3, as well as a secure hold against centrifugal action. The tread is on the inner circumferential side, in the middle part of its cross-sectional area, with a countersink 8 provided.
Since the maximum distance between the approaches 4 is limited to each other by the intended cross connection 5, this connection is flexible in itself and according to the A reduction 8 in the tread space for expansion possibility of the air hose and jacket on the outer circumference is created when increasing the pressure in the wheel plane a stronger contact pressure between the claw-like lugs 4 and the longitudinal edges of the tread occur. As a result of such an increase in pressure, the transverse expansion of the air hose that occurs acts to a certain extent in the sense of tilting the two attachments 4 with their head part in the direction of one another; an extension, d. H.
Deflection of the air hose in the wheel plane, d. H. in the area of the depression 8 of the tread 6 exposed to the reaction of the road also acts in the sense of a mutual approach of the two sets 4, whereby the contact pressure between the latter and the tread is further strengthened. The tread could on the inner circumferential side, instead of just one indentation, several such indentations next to each other.
The illustrated in Fig. 3 second embodiment of the tire differs from the example just explained in so far as the tread is formed in the cross-section of two juxtaposed rings 6 'and the jacket 3 has three lugs 4, which in a suitable manner by a fitting 5 are stiffened, through which Ar matur in turn at the same time the maximum distance from the approaches in the tire transverse plane is limited. The middle approach 4 is profiled claw-like on both sides, so that it is the two similar parts 6 'of the tread by attack on their ent speaking, ausgebil Deten edge. Hold offers. The two parts 6 'of the tread, which is also composed of individual solid rubber segments here, are individually in the amount of lugs 4 in nern with a Versteifunsarmatur 7 see ver.
Each tread part 6 'has a depression 8 on the inner circumferential side in the middle part, in order to allow the air hose along with the jacket to expand on the outer circumference, but could also have several such depressions besides one another. When the pressure in the tire or tire increases. Wheel plane is, similar to the first example, a stronger pressure between tween the claw-like approaches 4 and the longitudinal edges of the air ring parts 6 'caused. The adjacent longitudinal edges of the two tread parts 6 'are also pressed more tightly against each other. Instead of consisting of individual segments, the tread could also form an actual ring in the circumferential direction.
