Dispositif pour transformer une bicyclette en un tricycle à moteur. La présente invention se rapporte à un dispositif pour transformer une bicyclette en un tricycle à moteur; ce dispositif est carac térisé par un châssis comprenant un dispo sitif pour sa liaison avec le châssis de la bicy clette et portant une roue ainsi qu'un moteur avec un mécanisme de transmission destiné à être relié à la roue arrière de la bicyclette, le tout de façon que, lorsque le châssis du dis positif est relié à celui de la bicyclette, la roue du dispositif se trouve disposée à côté de la roue arrière de cette bicyclette.
Le dessin ci-annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution de l'objet de l'invention.
La fig. 1 en est. une élévation latérale, la fig. 2, un plan, et la fig. â, une élévation arrière; la fig. 4 se rapporte à un détail, et la fig. 5 montre la .forme d'exécution com binée avec une bicyclette de façon à consti tuer un tricycle.
Le dispositif représenté comprend un châssis formé par quatre tubes a' a2 a3 et a4, ces deux dernières étant réunis ensemble par une traverse a'. Ce châssis porte une roue b, montée folle sur son essieu, et un moteur à explosions c, disposé entre les tubes a3 et a4 et près de la roue b. Dans l'intérieur du tube a3 est monté un arbre rotatif d relié au moteur c par la chaîne d3 et les deux roues dentées d- et d-. Cet arbre porte,
à l'extrémité opposée à celle portant la roue dl, une roue dentée e destinée à être reliée par une chaîne à une roue cl se fixant sur le moyeu de la roue arrière de la bicyclette.
Les tubes<I>a' et a'</I> portent, à leur extré mité libre, des brides f' et f û destinées à être fixées au cadre de la bicyclette. La. traverse a" porte aussi une bride f3 destinée au même but et présente un trou f4 destiné à s'engager sur le petit marchepied disposé sur la roue arrière de la bicyclette, marchepied sur lequel la traverse a' est maintenue par un écrou.
Lorsque l'on veut utiliser le dispositif, on en fixe le châssis à la bicyclette de la façon représentée en fig. 5 et on relie, par une chaîne, la roue dentée e à la roue den tée e' préalablement fixée au moyeu de la roue arrière de la bicyclette; le tout forme alors un tricycle mû par le moteur c. Dans ce tricycle, c'est la roue arrière de la bicy clette qui est motrice et qui porte en majeure partie le poids du conducteur; la deuxième roue arrière, par contre, porte la majeure par tie du poids du moteur.

The present invention relates to a device for transforming a bicycle into a motor tricycle; this device is charac terized by a frame comprising a device for its connection with the frame of the bicycle and carrying a wheel as well as a motor with a transmission mechanism intended to be connected to the rear wheel of the bicycle, the whole so that, when the frame of the positive device is connected to that of the bicycle, the wheel of the device is placed next to the rear wheel of this bicycle.

Fig. 1 is. a side elevation, FIG. 2, a plan, and FIG. â, a rear elevation; fig. 4 relates to a detail, and FIG. 5 shows the embodiment combined with a bicycle so as to constitute a tricycle.
The device shown comprises a frame formed by four tubes a 'a2 a3 and a4, the latter two being joined together by a cross member a'. This chassis carries a wheel b, mounted loose on its axle, and an explosive motor c, arranged between the tubes a3 and a4 and near the wheel b. In the interior of the tube a3 is mounted a rotary shaft d connected to the motor c by the chain d3 and the two toothed wheels d- and d-. This tree bears,
at the end opposite to that carrying the wheel dl, a toothed wheel e intended to be connected by a chain to a wheel cl which is fixed to the hub of the rear wheel of the bicycle.
The tubes <I> a 'and a' </I> carry, at their free end, flanges f 'and f û intended to be fixed to the frame of the bicycle. The cross member a "also carries a flange f3 intended for the same purpose and has a hole f4 intended to engage with the small step arranged on the rear wheel of the bicycle, on which step the cross member a 'is held by a nut.
When it is desired to use the device, the frame thereof is fixed to the bicycle in the manner shown in FIG. 5 and the toothed wheel e is connected by a chain to the toothed wheel e 'previously fixed to the hub of the rear wheel of the bicycle; the whole then forms a tricycle driven by the motor c. In this tricycle, it is the rear wheel of the bicycle which is the driving force and which mainly carries the weight of the driver; the second rear wheel, on the other hand, carries most of the engine's weight.
