Fig. 1 ist ein vertikaler Längsschnitt durch ein erstes Beispiel; Fig. 2 ist eine Endansicht desselben ; Fig. 3 zeigt einen Horizontalschnitt durch das Zerstäuberrohr: Fig. 4 und 5 sind Querschnitte durch die Luftöffnungen des Zerstäuberrohres, wobei eine Hülse im Schnitt gezeichnet und dargestellt ist, wie eine Regulierung der Luftöffnungen stattfindet; Fig. 6 ist ein Schnitt durch einen Ver gaser vertikaler Bauart, gemäss der Erfindung;
Carburettors for internal combustion engines. The carburetor according to the present invention is of the type in which air is sucked in past a fuel nozzle in an atomizer tube in the suction tube, the fuel being atomized by means of the air passing through the atomizer tube, which is then mixed with the other air.
With this construction of carburetors, the problem has been encountered that the mixture becomes too rich in fuel when starting and for slow gear.
The aim of the present invention is to obtain a correct mixture for tempering and for leaching. For this purpose, the atomizer tube is provided with air openings between the nozzle and its outlet end, through which air is sucked in at low speed, which reduces the suction force at the nozzle, while, when a throttle valve is opened, the effect of the air openings mentioned without the aid of special movable ones Parts is turned off. The drawing illustrates two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention and detailed variants.
Fig. 1 is a vertical longitudinal section through a first example; Fig. 2 is an end view of the same; 3 shows a horizontal section through the atomizer tube: FIGS. 4 and 5 are cross-sections through the air openings of the atomizer tube, a sleeve being drawn in section and showing how the air openings are regulated; Fig. 6 is a section through a vertical type gasifier according to the invention;
7 is a cross section through the atomizer tube and through the regulating device, and FIGS. 8-10 illustrate detail variants.
In FIGS. 1 to 5, the nozzle 1 is directed vertically and extends into the bore of the horizontal atomizer tube 2, which is rotatably arranged within an outer regulating sleeve 3 which is carried by a rib web 4 transversely penetrating the air inlet 5. The inner ends of the atomizer tube and the regulating sleeve extend into the narrow neck 6 and are directed towards the throttle valve 7.
Between the nozzle and the outlet end of the atomizer tube 2 air openings 8 are mounted in the tube 2, which act with similar openings 9 of the Re gulierhülse 3 together. The throttle valve 7 has a slot 10 which comes to lie opposite the atomizer tube 2 when the throttle valve 7 is set to Langsainlauf.
In order to adjust the amount of fuel supplied at low speed for a machine, or for the given temperature, atmospheric and altitude conditions, the effective size of the air openings 9 can be increased or reduced by the atomizer tube 2 inside the fixed outer regulating sleeve 1 rotates; As a result, the openings 8, 9 more or less over each other; according to the desired regulation.
The rotatable atomizer tube 2 is provided with a slot 11 at the point where the nozzle 2 enters, whereby a partial rotation of the tube 2, which is provided with a corrugated head 12 at the outer end, is made possible. The securing of the head 12 and thus of the tube 2 in the set position is achieved by means of a spring-loaded bolt 13 (FIGS. 1 and 2) which engages the grooved circumference of the head 12 in (FIGS. 4 and 5). Two stop pins 14 determine the adjustment range.
When running slowly, the throttle path 7 is almost closed and its slot 10 is opposite the atomizer tube 2. As a result, the suction effect of the motor is almost completely concentrated on the atomizer tube 2 and the air is forced out of the narrow neck through the air openings 8, 9 into the atomizer tube to pass through between the nozzle 1 and the outlet end of the tube 2. As a result, the negative pressure around the nozzle opening is reduced and the supply of fuel is reduced accordingly.
As the rotary throttle valve is opened and the (-xe speed of the machine increases, the negative pressure in the narrow throat around the atomizer tube 2 increases and the air admission through the air openings 8, 9 is reduced , until a limit is reached where the negative pressure outside the atomizer tube is the same as that inside the named tube, so that no air passes through the air openings, and consequently no reduction in the fuel supply occurs.
This supply can be increased to such a large amount that it covers the full amount of fuel required when the throttle valve is wide open.
In the vertical type carburetor (FIGS. 6 and 7), the atomizer tube 0 is arranged vertically and mounted on a bracket arm 15 which is supported by the float chamber 16. Said pipe 2 is provided with a vertical bore 17 extending through the center for the passage of the atomizing air and its upper end extends towards the throttle valve 7.
The fuel nozzle 1 is inserted in the horizontal direction into a side hole of the atomizer tube and its bore communicates with a vertical fuel channel 18 which is arranged in the body of the atomizer tube. At the lower end of the latter, the fuel channel leads into a groove 19 which communicates with a channel in the bracket arm 15 starting from the float chamber.
The atomizer tube 2 is arranged in the A lacing 6 of the air supply line. The air openings 8 are arranged inclined in the fixed atomizer tube 2 against the inner Mün extension.
A sleeve 3 provided with air openings 9 is rotatably arranged around the atomizer tube 2. By rotating the sleeve 3 with respect to the tube 2, the openings 9 can be more or less made to coincide with the openings 8 and the amount of air entering the tube 2 can be regulated. The sleeve 3 is provided with a stellar 22 ending in a tip 21, the position of which can be read off on a scale and which can be determined.
Instead of the rotatable sleeve 8, an axially displaceable sleeve could also be arranged. In the detailed variant shown in FIG. 8, a vertical nozzle 1 extends into the lower open end of an atomizer tube 2 arranged vertically and concentrically to the nozzle. The same is located within the suction tube 5 and extends with the upper end into the constriction 6, which is upstream of the throttle valve 7. The part of the tube 2 lying above the nozzle 1 has a smaller diameter than the part of the tube 2 lying below the nozzle 1.
In this embodiment, air is also sucked in through the atomizer tube 2. A rotatable sleeve 3 with openings 9 regulates the access of air to the openings 8 of the atomizer tube 2.
In the detailed variant shown in FIG. 9, the lower end of the atomizer tube 2 is screwed onto the nozzle support arm and this tube has openings 19 through which air can enter the tube 2. The amount of this air can be influenced by adjusting the regulating sleeve 3 provided with corresponding air inlet openings 20 'below. In the upper part, the latter has the openings 9 which regulate the entry of air through the openings 8.
The sleeve 3 could also dominate only the openings 8, in which case, for example, the openings 19 'would have a constant passage cross-section and the openings 201 would have the shape of slots.
In the variant shown in detail in FIG. 10, the nozzle 1 is fitted into the atomizer tube 2 and the latter has air inlet openings 19 'directly at the nozzle. The regulating sleeve 3 has openings 9 for regulating the air openings 8 and openings 20 'for regulating the openings 191.
