Cette dernière opération n'étant pas en rapport avec les dimensions de la, pierre, il suffit de ma- nceuvrer le bras 21- de manière que l'outil 17 se trouve au-dessus de l'endroit où il doit opé rer et d'rigir ensuite sur la broche 2 dont;
Vertical crimping machine with several tool-holder spindles, with device for measuring stone. The object of the invention is a vertical crimping machine <<several tool-holder spindles, comprising a device with the help of which the diameter and height of the stone can be determined; i crimp. This device is, on the other hand, connected to certain parts of the machine, so that the dimensions of the crimp are suitable for those of the ivy to be crimped.
It already exists. of these crimping machines, but they are hardly practical. not very productive and provide a labor which lacks precision.
The crimping machine which is the object of the present invention comprises improvements which make it a precision instrument, easy to handle by the crimper and the production of which is much greater than those of the crimping machines. Fig. 5 is a plan view, on a larger scale, of the device shown at fi ;. 3.
The machine shown has three tool-holder spindles l., 2, 3, the first two of which are arranged vertically and adjusted in a harness 4 articulated on a vertical axis 5 connected to a slide 6; the latter being mounted on a slide of the upright 7 made of cast iron with the, frame 8. The spindle 3 is inclined relative to the pins 1 and 2 and adjusted in a harness 9 articulated on an axis 9 'integral with the slide 6. The harness 9 is coupled to harness 4 by means of a coil spring 1.0 which constantly tends to bring the harnesses closer to one another.
The opening of the harness is adjustable by means of a stop screw 11 supported by the harness 9 and which can be wedged using a screw 12. The tool-holder pins are movable along their axis, in the harness; each bears a 1: 3 stop ring and is subjected to. the action of a return spring 14 which always tends to. raise the spindle to its initial position determined by the position of the stop ring 13. Each spindle carries to. its lower end a tool.
The tool of the spindle 1 is a double chisel 15 intended to simultaneously mill the crimp and the thread; the spindle 3 carries the ram 1.6, with the aid of which said thread is driven back onto the crimping stone; finally, spindle 2 includes the tool for: trimming 17. The spindles are actuated one after the other, pressing their upper end, in the following order: spindle 1, spindle 3, spindle 2.
The downward stroke of each spindle is adjustable to. using a stop screw 18, respectively. 19 and 20. These screws are carried by the respective guide arms 21, 22, 23 of the pins.
The harness 4 has a lateral arm 2.1: placed opposite a lateral arm 25 of the slide 6. The end of the arm 25 carries a platform 26 supporting the crimping stone 27 which rests, with a hand, against a fixed feeler nose 28 adjustable using a return screw 29. The arm 24 carries a fixed plate 30, one side, 31, is cut like a knife and is placed opposite the feeler nose 28 ( fig. 4 and 5). By acting on the arm 21, one peul; .Turn the harnesses 4 and 9 and bring the plate 30, by its side 31, against the stone 27 in order to determine the diameter of the latter.
In a bore of the arm 21 is fitted a movable rod 32 carrying: a fixed ferrule 33 and a return spring 31- (Fig. 4) resting, on the one hand, against the ferrule 33 and, on the other hand, against the arm 21-. This spring constantly tends to. push the stop rod 32 towards the arm 25 and to keep pressed a pin 35 of this rod, coulter the arm 24.
The stop rod 3.2 can be blocked by means of a device comprising a blocking rod 36 movable in a bore of the arm 24 and resting, by one of its ends, laterally against the stop rod 32 and, on the other hand, against the periphery of an eccentric 37 mounted at the forked end of the arm 24, on an axis 38. This eccentric is provided with a control lever 39 and. carries a lug on its periphery 10. A res out 4.1. constantly acts on the lever 39 and tends to lift it, respectively to rotate the eccentric 37 so that the er got 40 abuts against the arm 24. In this position of the eccentric, the stop rod 3 \ 3 is not blocked and can move freely.
On the other hand, if the lever 39 is pressed, the eccentric 37 pushes the locking rod 36 inwards, which blocks the stop rod by jamming. As soon as one stops pressing the lever, the latter is returned to its original position and the stop rod 32 is free again.
On the arm 24 is pivoted, in -12, a]) rocker 43, one end of which ends in a feeler nose 44 placed above the, crimping stone 27, while the other end, 47, is placed below the lower end of a vertical rod 45 movable in a random 46 of the harness 1. The rod -15 is coaxial with the stop screw 18 of the spindle 1 carrying the double chisel 15 (fig. 3), so that the Nis 1.8 abuts against the upper end of the rod 45 when the spindle 1. is pushed fully.
A spring 48 placed on the rod 45, urges the latter to move up and down, so that its lower end rests on the end 47 of the lever 43 and; the, keep lowered. The arm 24 also carries a lever 49 pivoting at 50. This lever can be actuated using a control ladle 52 and comprises a spout 51 intended to engage under the end 47 of the rocker 43 for rotate the latter. 53 is an opposing spring which returns the lever 99 to its initial position as soon as the control key 52 is released. La, ma net 39 and key 52 can be controlled very conveniently by the right hand of the crimper and whose the required position is shown in fit ;. 1.
As a result, the crimper can use his left hand exclusively for controlling the tool spindles and for handling the setting stone. To explain the operation of the machine shown, all the successive operations involved in a mechanical crimping will be described below: The work piece is fixed on the stack 54 to which a rapid rotational movement is communicated. The crimper then places a crimping stone 27 on the platform 26 and, using his right hand, brings the arm 24 of the harness 4 against the crimping stone. The latter is therefore caught between the feeler jaws 28 and 31.
As a result of this movement of the arm 24, the stop rod 32 abuts against the lateral arm 25 (FIG. 4) and is pushed back all the more by the latter as the diameter of the stone 27 is smaller. As soon as the crimper has thus determined the diameter of the stone, he presses the lever 39 (fig. 8) to block the stop rod 32 in its acquired position and, keeping the liras 24 in its position, presses thumb on, key 52 to operate lever 49 and rocker 43.
It is in r ('# sulte shit the spout 44 of the rocker 43 is lowered on the stone 27, while the rod 45 is driven back from bottom to top of a quantity inversely proportional to, the limiter ( the stone. Slum that the crimper maintains with his right hand the arm 24 and; the key 52, the stop rod 32 being held blocked by the eccentric 37, he presses with his left hand on the spindle 1 so that the double chisel 15 mills the seam and the thread.
The dimensions of the setting then correspond to those of the setting stone, since the angular spacing of the harnesses 4: e1; 9. respectively of the tool-holder spindles, relative to their initial position, and the downward stroke of the spindle 1 are a function of chi diameter, respectively of the height of the.
Pierre. After having lifted the setting, the crimper abandons the key 52, moves the arm 2-1 away from the stone 27, places the latter in the setting and pushes the arm 24 back towards the feeler nose 28 until the stop 32, still blocked, abuts against arm 25. Arm 24 and the harnesses supporting the tool-holder spindles are consequently brought back into exactly the same respective position as before. The crimper therefore acts on the spindle 3 of which] tool 1.6 pushes the thread of the crimping onto the stone.
This operation is done with great precision, since the harness 9 is combined with the first harness 4; the position of the rammer 1.6 is therefore also. determined by the diameter of the stone, which means that this yes-it always operates in the right: -precis e1 bakehouse; a very clean job. 1t only remains, remove the burr, which takes place by means of the, pin 2.
This last operation not being in relation to the dimensions of the stone, it suffices to maneuver the arm 21- so that the tool 17 is located above the place where it must operate and 'then rigir on pin 2 with;
1a, the stroke is adjustable with the aid of the stop screw 19. However, there is still a screw of] lutée \ which makes it possible to approximately limit the angular movement of the harnesses, itn nose 56 of the harness 4 being intended; i abut <; besides said screw.
