Neuerung an Fahrrädern.
Die Klinkenk und1 werden durch je eine am Arme f, bezw. y festgelegte Flachfederp, bezw. q an das Schaltrad aas angedrückt;
Innovation in bicycles. The subject of the present inven tion forms a further training of the innovation in bicycles defined by the claim of the main patent. In the accompanying drawing, an example embodiment of the subject of the invention is shown in side view.
In the connecting tube a of the only partially shown bicycle frame, the seat post b is inserted. The same is displaceable in the connecting pipe a and is supported on a coil spring arranged in the latter. A bolt d is attached to the seat post b and protrudes through a longitudinal slot e of the connecting tube a. On this bolt two downwardly directed arms f, g are attached. Each of these arms carries at its free end part a bolt h, respectively. i. On each bolt there is a pawl k, resp. l stored.
The pawl l engages (in the position shown) in the teeth of a ratchet wheel m, which is fixed with a chain wheel 7a on a bolt o rotatably mounted in the connecting tube a, while the pawl k < / I> rests on the indexing wheel m .
The pawls k and 1 are each connected by one on the arm f, respectively. y fixed flat springs, respectively. q pressed against the ratchet wheel aas;
they can be disengaged from the switching gear by means of a pulling element r to be actuated by the driver, of which two end parts are fixed to the two pawls k and L. The chain wheel aa is connected to a larger chain wheel t by a chain s.
The latter sits on a shaft u which is rotatably mounted in a housing v attached to the bicycle frame. The inner end of a spiral spring iv engages the shaft ic.
The same is housed in the housing v and fixed with its outer end iv 'on the housing. On the shaft a also sits a sprocket j-, which can be engaged and disengaged with the ge called shaft in a manner not shown.
A chain runs over this sprocket and a smaller sprocket y sitting on the rear wheel axle of the bicycle.The purpose of the invention is to use the riding movements that occur involuntarily or arbitrarily while riding on the saddle to tension the spiral spring? V, which releases its elasticity when needed to move the bike.
This is achieved in that the longitudinal displacements of the resiliently mounted saddle rod brought about by the riding movements by means of the pawl cause a jerky rotation of the ratchet wheel, the rotation of which is transmitted in an easily understandable manner to the shaft and thus tensioning the spring to . When tensioning the spring, the sprocket x is not coupled to the shaft et.
When the spring is released, the pawls 7e, l are disengaged from the ratchet wheel, while the sprocket x is coupled to the shaft u, so that the revolutions of the shaft 24 by means of the sprocket .x and the chain z on the rear wheel axle seated chain wheel y can be transferred.
A device (not shown) is expediently provided which makes it possible to keep the spiral spring x in the tensioned position for the purpose of storing the energy.
