Fountain pen. The present invention relates to a fountain pen with a plug which usually closes the ink container against the atmosphere. According to the invention this sits on one of the whole ink container lengthwise penetrate the and from the rear (upper) end of the spring accessible pin and it is usually pressed by a spring against the spring head attached to the ink container.
In the drawing, an execution example of the subject invention is shown in longitudinal sections.
a is the lower, narrower, b the upper, further part of the ink container connected to that part by a threaded sleeve c. This is penetrated along its entire length by a thin pin d, which is guided at the front end protruding over the container part a in an insert tube e with some play, at the upper end with a push button i, which is provided over the head g screwed onto the ink container protrudes.
In the latter, the pin d is surrounded by a screw benfeder k, which is with your lower end against the narrower part of the head g, with the upper end on the push button i and seeks to push the pin d upwards. It thereby presses an elastic plug f, which is seated on this pin and is supported by a nut m, for example made of rubber or leather, against the lower part of the container head g, in which a little free space l is left around the pin d for the purpose of air passage . Further above there is a cross hole in the head g for the same purpose.
The method of use and operation of the spring described is as follows: If there is no longer enough ink between the spring legs n, press the button i of the pen d. The stopper f is lifted off the head g, so that air can enter the ink container b through the airways h, l , with the result that between the front end of the pin d and the wall of the tube ink can flow through it.
Once this has been done sufficiently, just let go of the push button i, whereupon the spring k returns the stopper f to its previous position on the head, so that the connection between the atmospheric air and the ink room is now broken again.
By repeatedly pushing the pin d back and forth, it is also possible in a simple manner to remove the cause of all-filling clogging of the ink paths in the container part a and the tube e.
