Stamped metal tap with interchangeable seat. Most of the valves now in use are made of molten metal, a construction which has certain drawbacks, such as, for example, a heavy weight of molten metal, to avoid porosity and make it more resistant to pressure. complicated machining of the various parts that make it up and in particular the rapid deterioration of the valve seat by corrosion from pressurized water, which requires repeated repairs and lapping,
which are costly and end up putting the tap out of service.
The object of the present invention is a stamped metal valve with interchangeable inter-seat.
The appended drawing shows two embodiments of a valve according to the invention, given by way of example.
Fig.1 is a view of a column valve; Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section of another embodiment, either of an applied valve; Fig. 3 is a cross section along the plane .4-B of FIG. 2. The body 1 of the valve shown in the embodiment of FIG. 2 is generally cylindrical in shape, stamped in one piece and provided on the outside of each of its ends with a thread. At the rear end of the body 1 is screwed a connector 2, which can be connected to the pipe.
On its front end curved inwards to form a concentric housing 3, fitted with a stuffing box 4, is screwed a cover 5, extended by a cylindrical part 6, forming a guide for the piston rod 7. The tightness of this seal is provided by a metal washer 4 'clamped between the body 1 and the cover 5. The outer face of part 6 is. fitted with an elongated screw thread.
On the body 1 of the valve is a pipe 8, on which is brazed a flow spout 9, provided at its end with a jet breaker 10.
Inside the connector 2 is provided a shoulder on which rests an interchangeable seat 11, sealed by means of a flexible washer 12. The rear end of the rod 7 is provided with a thread onto which the screw is screwed. piston 13, in the form of a washer with four guide arms between which the liquid can enter the front part of the body 1 to exit through the spout 9. The rod 7 ends with a head 14 on which the shutter member 15 of the seat 11 of the valve.
At its anterior end, the rod 7 ends with a tenon 16, on which the control lever 17 is fixed by means of a cap 18, held in place by a pin 19. The lever 17 is fixed on a socket 20 provided inside with the same screw thread as the threaded one on the extended part 6 of the cover 5.
The valve is actuated by means of the handle 17., the sleeve 20 of which moves on the pitch, of the part 6 of the cover 5 by removing the shutter 15 from the interchangeable seat 11 or by applying it to that -this.
Another embodiment, shown in FIG. 1, does not differ from that described with reference to FIG. 2 than by the flow spout 9 'curved, to give the device the shape of a column valve.
The tightness of the valve is ensured by the seals 12 and 4. The elongated screw thread of the sleeve 20 allows very sensitive adjustment of the flow rate. Finally, in the event of wear, the replacement of the parts is ensured by the interchangeability of the seat 11 and of the obturator member 15. The shape of the valve is suitable both for its use as a through valve and as a valve. drain valve for high or low pressure. In the first case, the outlet spout is provided with a thread for its connection to the outlet pipe.
