Abstract
The system for removing foreign fibers (8) from an air stream containing useful fibers uses an optical detector (2) to control selective blowing (4). This feeds the unwanted fibers into a funnel (5) which opens at its narrow end into a horizontal pipe (6),through which air flows which removes them.
Description
Since the early 90s of the last century, it is known for discharging foreign fibers to blow the detected foreign parts from the transport channel in an approximately airtight space.
In the first European foreign fiber detector OPTiSCAN the fibers were blown into a sump and since 1994 was a standard suction and was also used by the customer.
The Fremdfaserreiniger the Fa. Trützschler is permanently sucked since 1999 in customer installations.
EP 0 989 214 describes an "approximately airtight space" into which the fibers are blown and from which the air and foreign fibers are temporarily or permanently sucked by a fan.
This results in the following problem: if the fan is small, as desired, only a small amount of air from the "approximately airtight space" and sucked out of the Gutfasertransportluft, so that little good fibers get into the waste.
However, once a short time very many exhausts made, which occurs in practice, the fan clogged, and the machine is in trouble. If a large fan is used, too many good fibers are taken from the flake stream.
The object of the invention is to provide a construction that removes occasionally accumulating large fiber masses safely without sucking many good fibers from the flock stream.
The object is achieved with the features of claim 1.
In this invention, the foreign fibers 8 are not blown in an "approximately airtight space", but in a large funnel 5, the top naturally has a large opening over the entire machine width and is very wide. At the bottom of the funnel, the opening is slightly smaller. Transverse to this opening, a strong air flow is generated, which takes over the foreign particles and fibers. The air that forms the airflow is drawn directly from the ambient air of the machine. By this measure, the good fibers are not pulled into the hopper and occasionally incurred large amounts of fiber safely taken and sucked.
In the following drawings, the invention is illustrated.
In a fiber transport air flow in a channel 1 are unwanted particles 8, which are detected by an optical detection system 2. A computer 3 activates at a downstream location a valve 4 which blows the particles 8 into a funnel 5. At the exit of the funnel, an air flow takes over the particles in a suction channel. The particle air flow is generated by a fan 7.
