Description
The invention relates to a medical bandage, in particular a finished dressing, with a Velcro hook having Velcro closure for fixing the binding coil to a patient.
As is generally known from the prior art, in addition to gauze products, self-adhesive patches and bandages, in particular finished dressings, used for fixation, support or compression. Bandages, also in the form of prefabricated dressings, are used, for example, for fixing wound dressings. Affordable bandages are wrapped around the body part to be joined and then fixed with a plaster band, so that the bandage holds firmly at the desired body site. Higher-quality, reusable pads are fixed by so-called mother-in-law or safety pins on the parts of the body to be connected. In recent years, it has become occasionally common practice to fix straps with Velcro straps on the patient.
While Velcro fasteners are already used safely in most prefabricated dressings, such as clavicle dressings, since they best meet the users' needs thanks to the stable backing materials, the Velcro fasteners for napkins currently have the disadvantage that the Velcro fasteners pass through the napkin during closure be pressed and thus injure the skin of the patient. Particularly in the field of phlebology, the hitherto known hook-and-loop fasteners are unsuitable, since one is very often confronted with dry, stressed or parchment-like aging skin, which is very sensitive and vulnerable. The previously known hook-and-loop fasteners can therefore not avoid pushing through the Velcro hooks through the bandage and at the same time fix the bandage satisfactorily.
The invention has the object to improve a medical bandage of the type mentioned in that the risk of injury to the patient, especially when applying the bandage is significantly reduced.
The invention solves this problem with a medical bandage of the type mentioned, in accordance with the invention, the hooks have a height that is less than the thickness of the stretched bandage. Thus, the length of the hooks is significantly less than the thickness of the napkin, even in the stretched state of the napkin, in which the bandage has a smaller thickness due to the stretch. Consequently, the risk of injury to the patient in the most critical case, namely the application of the bandage when it must be stretched and the hooks must be pressed onto the bandage, significantly reduced. This is especially true for prefabricated units.
Therefore, a person applying the bandage need not repeatedly wrap the bandage around the body region of the patient to be connected in order to avoid the risk of injury from the hooks when fixing the bandage. Thus, injury to the patient by inexperienced users, such as the bandage for fixing compresses, for supporting or compressing joints or other applications of the bandage, is excluded.
In a preferred embodiment, the hooks can have a height of at most 0.8 millimeters. Then the height of the hooks is less than the thickness of the stretched bandage.
The Velcro hooks can be detachably hooked into the napkin, especially in the finished dressing. Therefore, there is no need for an additional element that receives the hooks. This makes the bandage easier and cheaper.
Thus, the Velcro hooks can be hung reliably in the napkin, the napkin can be made of a blended fabric. Preferred blended fabrics may include polyamide or other plastics that provide a suitable surface of the napkin to reliably hook the hooks into the napkin. For the bandage, however, natural fibers are also possible, which are designed so that the hooks can be hooked into them.
Conveniently, the Velcro hooks can be arranged on a support element which is deformable or rigid depending on the requirement.
The hook-receiving female support member is inexpensive to produce in large quantities, if it is made of a fabric and / or made of a plastic. Furthermore, the deformability and the rigidity of the support member can be particularly well realized using these materials.
Conveniently, the carrier element is attached to the napkin. It makes sense to attach the carrier element already in the manufacture of the bandage with the bandage, so that it can not be lost and the bandage can be fixed without further aids to the patient.
Thus, the support member is reliably attached to the napkin, in particular on the finished dressing, it may be secured by a seam and / or by a bond and / or by a weld on the napkin.
In a further preferred embodiment, however, it is also possible that the carrier element is a separate element to the napkin. Then the carrier element can be subsequently attached to the napkin, whereby a more flexible production and adaptation of the napkin, especially in terms of the length of the napkin, is possible.
If the the hook-and-loop carrier element is subsequently attached to the napkin, it is possible that the napkin can be unwound from a roll, whereby the storage of the napkin is considerably simplified.
In one embodiment of the invention, the napkin, in particular the finished dressing, be made of a nonwoven fabric, which is made with fibers of polyamide, polyethylene, polyurethane, synthetic latex and the like. This gives the bandage elastic properties. In addition, the Velcro hooks can be hung particularly well in the nonwoven fabric.
Additionally or alternatively, it is possible to manufacture the support element made of an elastic material, such as of synthetic latex. This is another measure to give the bandage elastic properties.
To support the breathing of a connected body region, the support element may be provided with holes.
The nonwoven fabric can be applied to the carrier element expediently at least on one side. The nonwoven fabric is preferably applied to the side of the carrier element facing the patient's body and to the side of the carrier element which faces away from the body of the patient. In this embodiment, the bandage thus has three layers, which are combined to form a binding layer.
Since the napkin can be designed as a finished dressing, which can be produced from the very thin nonwoven fabric, it can have a maximum thickness of 1.25 millimeters in the stretched state.
