This patent refers to an addition to the patent CH 693 805 having a free escape mechanism for a watch or pendulum. This addition is intended to increase the energy available for the pendulum while maintaining the same locking function, since here also, it is the same tooth of the escape wheel which is stopped a first time during a first alternation by the rest of entry, then a second time with the following alternation, by the rest of exit.
The present invention will be explained with the aid of the description which follows and three indicative figures, presenting the mechanism in one of its possible executions.
[0003] FIG. 1 shows the escape mechanism when the large plate 1 completes its additional arc down.
The plate pin 8 is inside the fork 4 and is about to rotate the fork rod 5 from its extreme position. This movement has the effect of releasing the escape wheel 10 whose rotation was hitherto prevented by one of his teeth resting on the output rest 7 of the fork rod. The rotation of the escape wheel which follows allows a tooth of the escape wheel to touch the pulse pallet 3 located on the fork rod, transmitting, through the fork, an indirect pulse to the pendulum. The escape wheel is then locked again, this time by the entry rest 6.
[0004] FIG. 2 shows the escape mechanism as the large plateau completes its further downward arc.
The plateau pin is inside the fork and is about to pivot the fork rod from the limiting pin 2 to release the tooth previously blocked by the entry rest 6, thus freeing the wheel exhaust and allowing a tooth of the escape wheel to touch the pulse pallet of the large plate to give a direct impulse to the balance 11.
The rotation of the fork rod then causes the interception and locking by the output rest of the same tooth of the escape wheel just released from the rest of entry.
[0005] FIG. 3 shows the escape mechanism when the balance is at rest.
As shown in patent CH 693 805, the escape wheel 10 is duplex type and comprises two sets of teeth 9 which interact with the other organs of the mechanism. Here too, the mechanism comprises a large plate 1 and a plate pin 8, as well as a hollow hole 14 which interacts with a rod 5 provided with a fork 4.
Similarly, and as stated in patent CH 693 805, the movement of the fork rod is limited by limiting pins 2, and the large plate comprises a pulse pallet 11 which interacts with the escape wheel to give a direct impulse to the pendulum. Similarly, the rod 5 also has either a single pallet 13 having two rest called entry rest 6 and exit rest 7 or two pallets each having a single rest.
As stated in the patent CH 693 805, these rest of entry and exit are used respectively to block the same tooth of the escape wheel during two successive alternations. This is made possible by the arrangement of these rest since their distance is substantially half of that between two successive teeth to be blocked.
On the other hand, as shown in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, and contrary to what is stated in the patent CH 693 805, the fork rod 5 also carries a pulse pallet 3 which acts to give an indirect pulse to the balance. With this modification, the energy available to the balance is increased while the alternating locking of the same tooth by the rest of entry and exit is maintained.
