The invention relates to a device for loading a strapping device with packages of flat objects, in particular of folded boxes.
In the production of folding boxes in folding box gluing machines, it is known to combine the finished, folded boxes into packages which are then strapped.
If packets are formed from boxes that are of different thicknesses at opposite ends, e.g. Folded bottom boxes, it is known from DE-OS 3 321 584 to form entire packages from partially turned partial packages before strapping. For this purpose, an automatically operating stack forming station is arranged in front of a strapping station, which turns every second partial stack and places it on the previous partial stack, which is pressed together by a hold-down device.
In the production of boxes with varied shapes, it has been shown in practice that fully automatic devices cannot process all box shapes satisfactorily. The loading device for the strapping devices not only has to be able to form packages from partially turned boxes, with various box shapes it is also necessary to rotate the packages by 90 ° before strapping so that the strapping holds the packages securely together.
The invention has for its object to provide a device which enables the strapping device to work as quickly as possible in all conceivable box shapes.
This object is achieved with the features of patent claim 1.
The box packages to be strapped are manually inserted into the device according to the invention, it being possible for complete packages to be formed from partially turned or turned partial packages. The box packages are aligned and fed to the strapping device in the required form.
The dependent claims contain preferred, particularly advantageous embodiments of the invention.
The drawings serve to explain the invention with reference to an embodiment shown in simplified form.
Fig. 1 shows a device according to the invention in side view.
FIG. 2 shows a view along line A-A of FIG. 1.
The loading device 1 of the invention is firmly connected to a strapping device 2, which is constructed and operates in a known manner: a box package is pressed and held on a table 3 by press bars 4, while a strapping band is in a plane 5 perpendicular to the sheet plane in FIG. 1 wrapped around the package and closed tightly.
The loading device 1 has a frame 6 which carries a horizontal table top 7 which adjoins the table 3 of the strapping device 2 in alignment with the strapping plane 5. On a long side (in Fig. 1 rear, in Fig. 2 left) a vertical stop plate 8 is attached to the table top, which extends perpendicular to the strapping plane 5 to the strapping device 2. The other long side of the table top 7 is largely open as the operating side on which the box packages are inserted.
A sliding element 9, which is mounted beneath the table top 7, is used to move the box packs in the direction of the strapping device 2. The sliding element 9 has two sliding bars 10 arranged next to one another, which in the working position extend vertically upward through longitudinal slots in the table top 7. The sliding strips 10 are attached to circumferential chains and can be moved from the strapping device 2 facing away from the end of the table top 7 to the beginning of the strapping device 2 and at the same time pivoted down to the area below the table top 7 (shown in dashed lines in Fig. 1), so the next box package can already be placed on the table top 7 on their way back.
In the starting position shown in FIG. 1, the sliding strips 10 are moved back into a box 11, the outlet plate 12 of which extends perpendicular to the table top 7 and the stop plate 8 has through-slots for the sliding strips 10. The outlet plate 12 forms with the table top 7 and the stop plate 8 a shaft closed on three sides, into which the box packages are inserted by the operator.
A frame 13 is attached to the frame 6 above the table top 7, on which two hold-down devices 14, 15 are mounted so as to be vertically movable by means of piston-cylinder units 16, 17. Both hold-downs 14, 15 extend horizontally from the area of the outlet plate 12 centrally to the table top 7 in the direction of the strapping device 2, that is to say in the direction of movement of the sliding element 9. The hold-down device 14 is arranged as an intermediate holder somewhat below the other hold-down device 15 and consists of a narrow pressure bar. Since it only serves to depress an unmoved partial stack package, its length corresponds to the maximum box length or width to be processed.
The second hold-down device 15 has two parallel, spaced-apart pressure bars, which are designed and offset such that the pressure bar of the hold-down device 14 can be moved vertically through the space between them. The pressure bars of the hold-down device 15 end at a short distance in front of a lateral sliding plate 18, which is arranged parallel to the stop plate 8 directly in front of the strapping device 2. The sliding plate 18 can be displaced from the operating side in the direction of the stop plate 8 by means of a piston-cylinder unit 19 in order to align the longitudinal edges of the box packs on the way to strapping.
In the area of the sliding plate 18, the box packs are held together by an overlying, height-adjustable guide bar 20, which is angled upwards and extends into the area of the hold-down device 15 and is arranged offset therefrom.
The loading device according to the invention works as follows:
An operator places the box packages to be strapped in the corner of the table top 7 formed by the outlet side 12 and the stop plate 8. If total packages are formed from several partial packages, the intermediate holder 14 is activated and - triggered by a photocell - lies on the top of the partial stack and press it together. The operator now places the second, if necessary turned, partial stack on the holding-down device 14 and actuates a switch which triggers the downward movement of the holding-down device 15 and then the sliding movement of the sliding bars 10. The sliding strips 10 press the box package compressed by the hold-down device 15 under the guide strips 20 to the strapping device 2.
When passing through the area of the side sliding plate 18, this moves in the direction of the stop plate 8 and thus also aligns the longitudinal edges of the box package. While the box package is being strapped, the sliding strips 10 move back into their starting position. In the meantime, the next box package can already be inserted and formed.
If the sheet packs to be strapped are placed on the deposit table 7 in one step, the hold-down device 14 is deactivated and parked in an upper position. The packets are then pressed together directly by the pressure bars of the upper hold-down device 15, which move downward on both sides next to the pressure bars of the parked hold-down device 14 to rest on the box package.
