Abstract

The saddle cover consists of a layer of an impermeable material (8) which fits inside a holder (2) and can be deployed over the saddle (1) to keep it clean and dry. The cover has a fastener (3) e.g. with a button, press stud, hook or hook and loop pile fabric to hold it in the deployed position, and cords or lines (7) which wind onto rollers inside the holder to retract the cover when the fastener is released. The cords or lines pass through holes in curved frame members (6) which hold the cover across the saddle.

  La présente invention constitue un dispositif permettant à tous les usagers de véhicules munis d'une selle, de protéger leur selle - de manière simple et efficace - contre toute salissure ou intempéries. 



  Le problème technique réside dans la difficulté qu'on peut avoir à concevoir un protège-selle qui soit d'une utilisation extrêmement simple, d'une conception aisément réalisable mais qui, en même temps, permette une protection efficace de la surface (selle) à protéger, sans pour autant être encombrant. 



  En effet, tout tissu ou plastique posé sur une selle, en vue de la protéger, pose un problème évident d'efficacité et surtout de stockage, si le véhicule est dépourvu d'un coffre ou d'une autre installation similaire. 



  L'invention dont il est présentement question permet donc à l'utilisateur - dans un premier temps - de déployer sur la selle une couverture de matière imperméable, épousant la forme de la selle et lui assurant ainsi une parfaite protection - et dans un second temps - de rétracter cette couverture sur elle-même, de sorte que tout problème de stockage soit éliminé. 



  L'invention est composée de divers éléments exposés dans la revendication 1, à laquelle il y a lieu de se référer. 



  Les dessins annexés représentent, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution du dispositif couvre-selle selon  l'invention. 
 
   La fig. 1 est une vue en perspective de cette forme d'exécution, le dispositif couvre-selle étant représenté en position rétractée. 
   La fig. 2 est également une vue en perspective montrant le dispositif couvre-selle déployé sur la selle à protéger. 
 



  Dans la situation de la fig. 1, la couverture est repliée à l'intérieur de la pièce d'extrémité 2 formant boîtier, elle-même fixée par un dispositif fixe ou amovible, à l'arrière de la selle 1. La pièce de tête 5 joue le rôle de couvercle de fermeture et le système d'accrochage 3 peut être utilisé pour assurer la fermeture (bouton, bouton-pression, crochet, velours à crochets). 



  La couverture de matière imperméable 8 est fixée à l'arrière au boîtier 2 et à l'avant à la pièce de tête 5, ainsi qu'à une série de supports intermédiaires en forme d'arceaux 6. 



   Deux câbles ou cordelettes 7 sont assujettis à la pièce de tête 5 et passent librement au travers des arceaux intermédiaires 6 pour venir s'enrouler sur deux tambours, munis de ressorts de rappel, eux-mêmes logés à l'intérieur du boîtier 2. 



  Pour effectuer la rétractation de l'élément de couverture, il suffit de décrocher la pièce de tête 5 en libérant le système d'accrochage 3, et de la laisser revenir en arrière vers le boîtier 2. 



  Les câbles 7 vont alors s'enrouler sur leurs tambours provoquant l'empilement successif des arceaux 6. 



  La couverture elle-même 8 formera des plis entre les arceaux et viendra également se loger dans le boîtier 2. 



  De cette façon, la couverture, mouillée par la pluie, ne le sera que sur sa face supérieure, permettant ainsi un usage ultérieur à bref délai sans mouiller la selle. 



  
 



  The present invention constitutes a device enabling all users of vehicles fitted with a saddle to protect their saddle - simply and effectively - against any soiling or bad weather.



  The technical problem lies in the difficulty that we may have to design a saddle protector which is extremely simple to use, of an easily feasible design but which, at the same time, allows effective protection of the surface (saddle). to protect, without being bulky.



  Indeed, any fabric or plastic placed on a saddle, in order to protect it, poses an obvious problem of efficiency and especially of storage, if the vehicle does not have a trunk or other similar installation.



  The invention which is currently being discussed therefore allows the user - firstly - to deploy a cover of impermeable material on the saddle, conforming to the shape of the saddle and thus providing it with perfect protection - and secondly - to retract this cover on itself, so that any storage problem is eliminated.



  The invention is made up of the various elements set out in claim 1, to which reference should be made.



  The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, an embodiment of the saddle cover device according to the invention.
 
   Fig. 1 is a perspective view of this embodiment, the saddle cover device being shown in the retracted position.
   Fig. 2 is also a perspective view showing the saddle cover device deployed on the saddle to be protected.
 



  In the situation of fig. 1, the cover is folded inside the end piece 2 forming a housing, itself fixed by a fixed or removable device, at the rear of the saddle 1. The head piece 5 acts as a cover closure and the hanging system 3 can be used to ensure the closure (button, press button, hook, hook velvet).



  The cover of waterproof material 8 is fixed at the rear to the housing 2 and at the front to the head piece 5, as well as to a series of intermediate supports in the form of arches 6.



   Two cables or cords 7 are fixed to the head piece 5 and pass freely through the intermediate hoops 6 to come and wind on two drums, provided with return springs, themselves housed inside the housing 2.



  To retract the cover element, simply unhook the head piece 5 by releasing the attachment system 3, and let it go back to the housing 2.



  The cables 7 will then be wound on their drums causing the successive stacking of the hoops 6.



  The cover itself 8 will form folds between the arches and will also be housed in the housing 2.



  In this way, the cover, wet with rain, will only be on its upper face, allowing subsequent use at short notice without wetting the saddle.

Claims

1. Saddle cover device, characterized in that it comprises a flexible or rigid end piece (2) permanently or removably secured to a saddle of a vehicle or to an accessory close to said saddle, and used for holding the end of a waterproof cover (8) during its deployment, as well as a receptacle for said cover when the latter is in the retracted position, the cover being connected to retraction means (6, 7), -same connected to the end piece allowing the deployment and retraction of said cover; the length and width of the cover being at least of dimensions equivalent to the saddle to be covered;

a head piece (5) fixed to the free end of the cover allowing it to be grasped for deployment and attachment means (3, 4) to the saddle holding the cover at will in the deployed position and preventing its unexpected retraction.

Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the means of retraction of the waterproof cover consist of a series of intermediate supports in the form of arches, fixed on the waterproof cover, through which pass two cables or cords freely , subject to the head piece and which are wound on two drums, provided with return springs, themselves housed inside the end piece, acting as a housing.

3. Vehicle provided with one or more saddles and of which at least one saddle comprises a saddle cover device according to claims 1 or 2.
