The subject of the present invention is a fluid mixing device having the characteristics listed in claim 1.
The attached single figure illustrates schematically and by way of example an embodiment of the invention.
The model refers, as its title itself indicates, to a fluid mixing device with which it is possible to mix at will two fluids, always depending on one of them, which will be the main fluid having the greater flow and pressure.
If, based on the well-known Bernouilli theorem, we reduce the cross section of a conduit through which a fluid, for example water, circulates, there is a significant reduction in pressure, which creates a depression which allows to entrain air or gas being in an independent room. The device specifically studied and designed for this purpose produces an almost perfect homogeneous mixture which can be achieved at will by adjusting the proportions until one succeeds in canceling the two.
The device described is, due to its very simple design, easy to manufacture and, consequently, its cost is reduced, its handling simple and its maintenance zero.
It basically consists of a main body in which between the two fluids and where their mixture comes out, after they have passed through the devices which we will talk about below.
The fluid inlets are located, on the one hand, as regards the main fluid, in the very axis of the body, and, on the other hand, as regards the secondary fluid, perpendicular to the axis or according to a certain angle to it, but anyway after the main assembly has shrunk.
The outlet of the mixed fluids is done by a conical conduit, which is housed and screwed in a hemisphere.
This conduit, movable at will by means of the thread which it is provided with on its outside diameter, houses a cone which acts as a valve and which, when the screwing is at a maximum, obstructs the outlet conduit for the main liquid; by varying the screwing, which has the effect of making the cone move back, we will mix the two fluids in increasingly large quantities.
The opening and closing operations are carried out from outside the device by means of a nut which is located at the end of the mixing pipe.
The mixing duct is fixed to the main body by means of an internally threaded and traversing hemisphere blocked by a closure plate fixed by means of screws on the main body, these screws being dimensioned so that the movements opening and closing the mixing duct with its corresponding valve do not rotate the hemisphere when adjusting the mixture, due to the pressure it exerts on the closure plate. In the large diameter of the hemisphere are mounted rings which adapt to the configuration of the hemisphere and which are made of a more elastic material, so that the closure plate, when its screws are tightened, puts pressure on these rings and thus ensures a good seal.
These rings which are on the hemisphere are sheltered by a housing of the main body, which allows the oscillation of the mixing duct and the hemisphere; they can thus be tilted and the mixing jet can be directed in any direction.
So that the effort necessary to obtain the directional inclinations is minimal, the hemisphere comprises, on the interior side, that which is in contact with the two fluids, evacuation channels, so that the friction surface between the rings and the hemisphere is minimal.
A sealing chamber is required to produce the mixture which will be directed towards the outlet conduit, this being carried out with great efficiency by the hemisphere, the rings and the screwing pressure of the screws of the closure plate.
In order to allow a better understanding of the proposed device, we will proceed below to a description of it, commenting on the drawing which is attached and which represents, only by way of example and without limitation, a form of realization of the model susceptible of variations of detail not supposing a fundamental alteration of its essential characteristics. The correspondences of the numerical references appearing on the drawing are the following:

The schematic plan which is attached represents a longitudinal view of the device, which is composed of a main body (1) cylindrical or conical and hollow, which houses the conical conduit of the mixture (2) and the valve (10) which allows the opening or closing the orifice (9).
The mixing conduit (2) is screwed into the hemisphere (5) and the latter is, in turn, held in place by the closure plate (3), which is fixed to the main body (1) by screws (4).
The hemisphere (5) is provided on its periphery with elastic rings (6), which ensure both the adjustment and the play of the assembly (2) and (5), which makes it possible to orient it in the desired direction.
The main fluid enters through (7) and produces a vacuum in the chamber (12), which makes the secondary fluid enter through (8); the two fluids, intimately mixed, pass through the conduit (2) and exit outside via (11).
The chamber (12) is practically sealed (its only opening is formed by the conduit (8), thanks to the sealing elements with which it is provided.
The materials from which this device is made are preferably, but not necessarily, thermoplastic; it is possible to give them different colors and different dimensions and to decorate them with appropriate embellishments.
