The invention relates to an oven control according to the preamble of claim 1.

In the case of old electric ovens, it has been generally known to set the maximum operating temperature in each case by means of an adjustable thermostat, irrespective of whether one heated only with bottom heat or only with top heat or with both. This has the disadvantage that you should never forget to set the right temperature, because otherwise you will not heat at all or at the wrong temperature and will not achieve the desired result.

From DE-PS 2 304 231 it is known to choose between three temperature ranges (yeast fermentation range, non-browning heat, browning heat), which are also assigned different degrees of fineness of the control. You can change the temperature and thus get almost the same disadvantage as with the old ovens, namely that a previously set wrong temperature leads to wrong results, even if you have selected the correct one of the three ranges.

In order to avoid all these unpleasantnesses, it has also already been proposed to provide a certain number of operating modes selectable by means of an operating mode switch, each operating mode being assigned a specific temperature in a fixed and unchangeable manner. Once this temperature was determined and adjusted by the manufacturer, it always applied. If you wanted a different temperature, you had to choose a different operating mode. The errors caused by forgotten thermostats are avoided, but the number of selectable temperatures is limited. Such oven controls are known from US Pat. Nos. 4,456,820 and 4,517,452.

The invention has for its object to provide an economically advantageous oven control that is foolproof to handle and yet individually adaptable.

To solve this problem (starting from the last-mentioned type of oven control in which each operating mode has a permanently assigned temperature), the oven control defined in claim 1 is proposed.

It has the advantage that whenever you select an operating mode, the standard temperature, which is often very suitable, can be determined, which can be temporarily changed by a temperature difference into an individual preferred temperature so that the temperature actually used can be optimally adapted to individual needs. The preferred temperature set in this way remains decisive until a new mode of operation is selected and / or until after the end of the food preparation process in question. Then the standard temperature is automatically set again, so that the standard temperature is ensured with every new operation.

It is thus possible to determine a temperature which is considered to be optimal for each individual process; however, it is also ensured that a previously selected individual temperature, which could now be very wrong, is never switched on. The automatically recurring standard temperature is in an at least not unusable range.

This enables those who want the simplest possible handling to simply select an operating mode and (if necessary with time control) to start the process.

In addition to this simplest handling, it also enables ès to adjust the temperature control without losing the standard temperature. And this, without special manipulation, that is, automatically.

Any number of operating modes known per se can be provided, but because the temperature for the individual operation can be regulated individually, relatively few operating modes are usually sufficient, such as:

A) bottom and top heat together at 200 Celsius degrees standard temperature;

B) top heat alone as grill heat at 280 degrees Celsius standard temperature;

C) Hot air (air circulation)

at 180 Celsius degrees standard temperature;

D) Pyrolysis (self-cleaning)

at 500 Celsius degrees standard temperature.

While the pyrolysis temperature (operating mode D) can be designed to be unadjustable for reasons of convenience, for safety's sake the adjustment range of the other operating modes (A, B, C) can be set between room temperature and 300 degrees Celsius.

The few operating modes given above by way of example can also exist more than once. For example, operating mode B could be divided into a fermentation temperature level, a non-browning level and a browning level, which e.g. cannot be ruled out even in operating mode C.

You can also provide at least one mode of operation specially designed for roasting with core temperature measurement, or one such as subordinate to operating mode C.

But at least one operating mode with microwaves can also be provided analogously.

The invention is discussed below with reference to the purely schematic drawing with reference to the explanations just made for the operating modes, for example.

Although the whole thing can of course also work for microwave operation, only this very simple representation is given here, because it enables understanding in an uncomplicated manner and is also sufficient for this.

In and on the housing of the oven 1, the parts listed above are accommodated in a suitable place and in a suitable manner.

If you want to prepare a meal in the baking chamber of the oven 1, you can either insert it through the door 17 or only after a preheating time that seems appropriate.

It is assumed here that there is no need to preheat.

Now press one of the buttons 111, 112, 113 or 114 and select the operating mode A. B. C or D. (operating mode D is of course out of the question here for food preparation).

It is assumed that operating mode A has been selected, which (as explained above) is assigned a standard temperature of 200 degrees Celsius.

You could now set the start time and end time of the process on the clock 16 and the process would run automatically, the radiators 171 and 172 providing lower and upper heat and the heating operation of which is controlled by the control unit 18 in accordance with the signals from the temperature sensor 17.

At the end, the watch switches off the process and emits an acoustic signal.

If the operator does not like the temperature of 200 degrees Celsius, he can set a preferred temperature that deviates by almost any temperature difference after pressing the A button and before starting the process.

To do this, he must keep the release button 13 depressed and turn the adjustment button accordingly. Once he has set his preferred temperature, he can start the process again with the clock (setting the start time and end time).

In the end, however, not only is the clock switched off, but the control device 18 also sets the standard temperature of 200 degrees Celsius again.

As a variant, the preferred temperature set could also remain until one of the buttons 111, 112, 113 or 114 of the operating mode selector 11 is actuated. This e.g. when one of the buttons 111, 112, 113 and 114 has to be pressed before a new start-up is possible.

An analogous procedure is possible for the other operating modes, although, as has already been said, operating mode D can be completely uninfluenced for safety reasons and for reasons of efficiency, that is to say it can be fully automatic.
