5. Door with a profile (1) according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that two parallel grooves are incorporated on its end face (6) for inserting the fastening ribs (4).
The invention relates to a cover or sealing profile made of a flexible and elastic material and a door with this profile.
Cover or sealing profiles are used in many areas of technology. They are made in any length from plastic or rubber and are cut to length for the respective applications. An essential area of application for such profiles is in doors, windows etc. movable walls and elements. Two types of profiles are used here, on the one hand lip seals and on the other hand closed hollow profiles. The first-mentioned profiles have the disadvantage that they are poorly suited for covering grooves or elements inserted in the material. A cover can usually only be provided if two such lip seals are used, the lips of which are directed towards each other. This solution, however, is not satisfactory in addition to the relatively great effort, also from an aesthetic point of view.
Seals with closed hollow profiles are suitable both for covering and for sealing, but an additional metal profile is required to fasten the hollow profile, which is both a space-consuming and costly solution. Another disadvantage is that such a profile cannot be adapted to different coverage widths.
This is where the invention comes in, which is based on the object of designing a covering or sealing profile in such a way that it can be produced in a simple manner and yet the same profile can be adapted to different covering widths. This object is achieved according to the invention in that the profile is shaped as a flat band, on the side edges of which fastening ribs are formed.
The invention is shown in the drawing in one embodiment and described below. Show it:
1 shows a section through a cover or sealing profile,
Fig. 2 is a schematically illustrated horizontal section of the front area of a door and
Fig. 3 is a schematic representation of a similar horizontal section as in Fig. 2 using different wall thicknesses of the door.
The invention is based on the consideration that a suitable covering and sealing profile must have the same clean appearance of a closed hollow profile and the same good sealing properties as a closed hollow profile. However, since both the manufacture and the installation of a hollow profile are complex, the invention provides a much simpler solution by using a band-shaped profile, see FIG. 1. The profile is formed from a band 2, on the side edges of which a thickening 3 of the profile cross section occurs. In the area of the thickening 3, a fastening rib 4 is formed, which is inclined at an angle to the band 2. The inclination of the fastening ribs 4 can be selected depending on the application. The fastening ribs 4 could also be aligned with the band 2.
The fastening ribs 4 serve to fasten the profile 1 to the surface of a wall, door or the like.
For this purpose, two grooves 5 are provided at a certain distance, see FIG. 2, where the grooves are arranged on the end face 6 of a partially shown door 7.
So that the fastening ribs 4 are reliably held in the groove 5, they have retaining tabs 8 which are pressed together when the fastening ribs 4 are inserted into the groove 5, so that they exert a barb-like resistance when the fastening rib 4 is attempted to be pulled out of the groove 5 . As can be seen from FIG. 1, the retaining tabs are not of the same design on both sides of the fastening rib 4. Relatively large fastening tabs 8 are provided on the outside, while the tabs are designed as a short web 9 on the inside.
In Fig. 2, the profile 1 takes on both a cover and a sealing function. 2 schematically illustrated parts 10, 11 of a rod lock are inserted from the end shaft 6 into a groove 12 extending over the length of the door 7. The arrangement of the profile 1 on the one hand completely covers the inserted parts 10, 11 and, in addition, a clean seal with a fixed door part 13, e.g. a framework. The fixed door part can have a concave curvature 14 on the end face, so that the profile 1 does not abut the fixed door part 13 in the form of a line, but in the form of a surface.
As a major advantage, the profile 1 can be adapted to different door thicknesses, as shown in FIG. 3. The same profile 1 can be used both with a narrow door leaf with a width of 15 and with a thick door leaf with a width of 16. Of course, depending on the arrangement of the grooves 5, a corresponding door gap must be provided between the end face 6 and the fixed door part.
1, thin edge lips 17 are provided, while in the profile of FIG. 3 the thickening 3 is relatively large and delimits the side edge of the band 2 without forming an edge rib 17.
If the grooves 5 are very close, as is the case with the door leaf with the width 15, the fastening ribs can be designed in alignment with the band 2 in order to use the formation of a narrow, U-shaped band 2 '. In this case, the band 2 'would have a much wider and less high U-shape. On the other hand, with a large distance between the grooves 5, e.g. in the case of a door leaf with the width 16, the hinge 2 is stretched and pass into the fastening ribs 4 in the area of the fastening ribs 4 with a small radius. There is therefore a suitable largest and smallest distance between the grooves 5 for each profile.
The application of the profile is described in connection with doors. This door can in particular be a sliding door in which the usual latch lock has been replaced by a bar lock. Since the profile 1 takes over the sealing function as well as the covering function, the Stan
lock 10, 11 can be used in a simple manner on the end face and does not require a cover. Since the profile 1 is not a hollow profile, it can be easily produced from a rubber-like plastic by extrusion.
However, profile 1 can also be used in other places, e.g. on the front of sliding windows, but also in other places on doors, windows and other surfaces where a covering or sealing effect is to be achieved.
