REVENDICATIONS
1. Support pour plaque d'immatriculation d'un véhicule, caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte une plaque de base présentant un évidement tel que la plaque d'immatriculation puisse être placée à l'intérieur, de maniére à former un cadre sur au moins trois côtés de la plaque d'immatriculation, I'un des côtés du cadre présentant une surface de plus grande dimension que les autres destinée à servir de support publicitaire.
2. Support selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la profondeur de l'évidement correspond à l'épaisseur de la plaque d'immatriculation du véhicule, de sorte que la plaque placée à l'intérieur de l'évidement reste à fleur du cadre entourant et formé par ledit évidement.
3. Support selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la profondeur de l'évidement est supérieure à l'épaisseur de la plaque d'immatriculation, au moins un côté du bord intérieur de l'évidement présentant une rainure dans laquelle peut s'introduire un bord de la plaque d'immatriculation.
4. Support selon la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que l'évidement définit un cadre sur ses quatre côtés et en ce que deux côtés opposés des bords intérieurs de l'évidement présentent chacun une rainure permettant d'introduire les bords correspondants de la plaque d'immatriculation.
5. Support selon la revendication 4, caractérisé en ce que la distance entre deux bords opposés de l'évidement, dont au moins un des bords comprend une rainure, est plus petite que la dimension correspondante de la plaque d'immatriculation.
6. Support selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce qu'il est réalisé d'une seule pièce par moulage.
7. Support selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce qu'il est réalisé en matière plastique.
L'invention a pour objet un support pour plaque d'immatriculation d'un véhicule.
On connaît de nombreux types de supports pour plaque d'immatriculation d'un véhicule automobile. Ces supports sont habituellement des encadrements métalliques destinés d'une part à renforcer la plaque d'immatriculation et d'autre part à permettre la fixation de ladite plaque sur la carrosserie du véhicule. Ces encadrements sont habituellement réalisés en plusieurs pièces qui doivent être assemblées avec la plaque d'immatriculation avant d'être fixées sur la carrosserie du véhicule.
Le but de l'invention est de proposer un support pour plaque d'immatriculation d'un véhicule automobile se présentant sous une forme extrêmement simple et permettant la fixation de l'ensemble plaque d'immatriculation - support au moyen de deux vis ou de deux rivets traversant la plaque, le support et la partie de la carrosserie où l'ensemble doit être fixé. D'autre part, le support présentera un emplacement destiné à recevoir de la publicité, par exemple le nom d'un garage ou d'une entreprise ou d'un produit.
Le support selon l'invention est caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte une plaque de base présentant un évidement, tel que la plaque d'immatriculation puisse être placée à l'intérieur de manière à former un cadre sur au moins trois côtés de la plaque d'immatriculation, I'un des côtés du cadre présentant une surface de plus grande dimension que les autres destinée à servir de support publicitaire.
La profondeur de l'évidement peut correspondre à l'épaisseur de la plaque d'immatriculation du véhicule, de sorte que la plaque placée à l'intérieur de l'évidement reste à fleur du cadre entourant et formé par ledit évidement.
La profondeur de l'évidement peut être légèrement supérieure à l'épaisseur de la plaque d'immatriculation, au moins un côté du bord intérieur de l'évidement présentant une rainure dans laquelle peut s'introduire un bord de la plaque d'immatriculation.
L'évidement peut définir un cadre sur ses quatre côtés, et deux côtés opposés des bords intérieurs de l'évidement peuvent présenter chacun une rainure permettant d'introduire les bords correspondants de la plaque d'immatriculation.
Pour la variante mentionnée ci-dessus, la distance entre deux bords opposés de l'évidement, dont au moins un des bords comprend une rainure, sera légèrement plus petite que la dimension correspondante de la plaque d'immatriculation retenue par le support.
Le support sera avantageusement réalisé d'une seule pièce par moulage. Il peut être réalisé en matière plastique.
Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, un mode d'exécution d'un support pour plaque d'immatriculation d'un véhicule automobile.

Comme représenté dans le dessin, le support se présente sous la forme d'une plaque moulée 1 présentant en son milieu un évidement 2. L'évidement 2 présente une surface sensiblement égale à celle de la plaque d'immatriculation qu'il est censé recevoir. La profondeur de l'évidement 2 est de même sensiblement égale à ou un peu plus grande que la plaque d'immatriculation qu'il est censé recevoir.
Comme visible dans le dessin, I'évidement délimite un pourtour formé de quatre côtés 3, 4, 5, 6. Les côtés 3, 4 et 5 sont simplement destinés à entourer la plaque d'immatriculation qui sera placée à l'intérieur de l'évidement 2. Ils ont donc uniquement une fonction de maintien, ainsi qu'une fonction esthétique. Par contre, le bord 6 est plus large que les bords 3, 4 et 5, de manière à permettre l'application d'un message publicitaire. Ce message publicitaire sera appliqué sur le bord 6 par des procédés d'imprimerie ou des procédés thermophotographiques, ou encore par gravure ou par impression en relief.
Le message publicitaire pourra être le nom d'un garage, le nom d'une entreprise, le nom d'un produit, etc.
Comme visible sur la fig. 2, le support se présente sous la forme d'une plaque moulée et pourra par conséquent être réalisé en métal léger ou en matière plastique. Dans le mode d'exécution des fig. 1 et 2, I'évidement est dimensionné de manière à recevoir en son intérieur la plaque d'immatriculation qui est sensiblement de même dimension que l'évidement. Le montage de l'ensemble plaque d'immatriculation - support est donc réalisé très simplement. La plaque d'immatriculation non représentée est placée à l'intérieur de l'évidement 2 et le support 1 et la plaque sont appliqués contre la carrosserie du véhicule où ils doivent être fixés. A l'aide d'une perceuse, on réalise deux trous à travers la plaque d'immatriculation, le support 1 et la carrosserie du véhicule et l'on introduit dans ces trous non représentés des vis ou des rivets.
L'ensemble est ainsi fixé au véhicule. Il est évident que le support publicitaire aura été appliqué sur le bord 6 avant la fixation sur le véhicule.
On remarque dans les fig. I et 2 que les côtés intérieurs des bords 4 et 6 de l'évidement 2 présentent une rainure 7, respectivement 8, prolongeant l'évidement 2 sur une courte distance à l'intérieur des bords 4 et 6. Ces rainures représentent une variante du mode d'exécution du support décrit ci-dessus, dans laquelle l'évidement est réalisé selon une largeur légèrement inférieure à la plaque d'immatriculation qu'il doit recevoir. La plaque d'immatriculation pourra cependant être placée dans l'évidement 2 en introduisant un de ces grands côtés à l'intérieur de la rainure 7, respectivement 8 et en la faisant pivoter ainsi le long de l'axe de cette rainure afin qu'elle puisse venir prendre sa place dans l'évidement 2.
Elle sera ensuite déplacée latéralement d'une demi-épaisseur de rainure dans l'évide- ment et l'ensemble support - plaque d'immatriculation sera fixé comme dans le mode d'exécution précédent. Il est évident qu'une seule rainure peut être prévue, par exemple la rainure 18 sur le bord
6 du support 1, la rainure 7 étant alors inexistante. Le support qui vient d'être décrit présente l'avantage d'être extrêmement simple et a un prix de revient très bas s'il est réalisé par moulage. II se monte très facilement sur un véhicule avec la plaque d'immatriculation qu'il supporte et présente un effet esthétique très satisfaisant. Il peut être réalisé en différentes couleurs, de même que le message publicitaire appliqué sur le bord 6.
Comme le mode d'exécution des fig. 1 et 2, le support représenté dans la fig. 3 se présente sous la forme d'une plaque moulée 10 présentant en son milieu un évidement 1 1 destiné à recevoir une plaque d'immatriculation et définissant trois bords 12, 13 et 14. Comme visible dans la fig. 3, les bords 12 et 14 se présentent sous forme de minces bords latéraux destinés à maintenir la plaque d'immatriculation placée dans l'évidement 1 1 et le bord 13 présente une surface plus grande que celle des bords 12 et 14 et est destiné à servir de support publicitaire. La profondeur de l'évidement 11 est, de même que pour le mode d'exécution des fig. 1 et 2, sensiblement égale à ou un peu plus grande que l'épaisseur de la plaque d'immatriculation qu'il est censé recevoir.
Lorsqu'elle sera placée dans l'évidement 11, la plaque d'immatriculation s'appuiera contre les bords intérieurs des côtés 12, 13 et 14 et dépassera légèrement le support 10 comme représenté par le pointillé 15 de la fig. 3.
Le montage du support représenté dans la variante de la fig. 3 s'effectue de la même manière que le montage du mode d'exécution des fig. 1 et 2. La plaque d'immatriculation non représentée est placée à l'intérieur de l'évidement 11 de manière à s'appuyer contre les bords intérieurs des côtés 12, 13 et 14. L'ensemble support 10 et plaque d'immatriculation est alors appliqué contre la surface du véhicule où il doit être fixé et deux trous sont percés à travers la plaque d'immatriculation, le support 10 et la carrosserie du véhicule, et l'on introduit dans ces trous non représentés des vis ou des rivets.
Comme le mode d'exécution des fig. 1 et 2, la variante de la fig. 3 pourra être réalisée par moulage en matière plastique et le support publicitaire sera appliqué sur le bord 13 soit lors de l'opération de moulage, soit après ladite opération.
Il est bien évident que le support qui vient d'être décrit peut subir de nombreuses modifications. Pour des raisons de discrétion et d'esthétique, le support qui vient d'être décrit ne comprend qu'un seul bord destiné à recevoir un message publicitaire. Ce bord est réalisé de manière à rester de petite dimension. Ainsi, le message publicitaire reste modeste et de bon goût. Cependant, il est évident que le support peut être réalisé de manière à former un bord de plus grande largeur ou plusieurs bords destinés chacun à supporter un message publicitaire.

CLAIMS
1. Support for license plate of a vehicle, characterized in that it comprises a base plate having a recess such that the license plate can be placed inside, so as to form a frame on at at least three sides of the registration plate, one of the sides of the frame having a larger surface area than the others intended to serve as an advertising medium.
2. Support according to claim 1, characterized in that the depth of the recess corresponds to the thickness of the vehicle registration plate, so that the plate placed inside the recess remains flush with the surrounding frame and formed by said recess.
3. Support according to claim 1, characterized in that the depth of the recess is greater than the thickness of the license plate, at least one side of the inner edge of the recess having a groove in which can s' introduce an edge of the license plate.
4. Support according to claim 3, characterized in that the recess defines a frame on its four sides and in that two opposite sides of the inner edges of the recess each have a groove for introducing the corresponding edges of the plate of registration.
5. Support according to claim 4, characterized in that the distance between two opposite edges of the recess, at least one of the edges of which comprises a groove, is smaller than the corresponding dimension of the license plate.
6. Support according to claim 1, characterized in that it is made in one piece by molding.
7. Support according to claim 1, characterized in that it is made of plastic.
The invention relates to a support for a vehicle license plate.
Many types of supports are known for the license plate of a motor vehicle. These supports are usually metal frames intended on the one hand to reinforce the license plate and on the other hand to allow the fixing of said plate on the vehicle body. These frames are usually made of several pieces which must be assembled with the license plate before being fixed to the vehicle body.
The object of the invention is to provide a support for a license plate of a motor vehicle in an extremely simple form and allowing the attachment of the license plate - support assembly by means of two screws or two rivets passing through the plate, the support and the part of the body where the assembly is to be fixed. On the other hand, the support will present a space intended to receive advertising, for example the name of a garage or a company or a product.
The support according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a base plate having a recess, such that the license plate can be placed inside so as to form a frame on at least three sides of the plate of registration, one of the sides of the frame having a larger surface area than the others intended to serve as an advertising medium.
The depth of the recess may correspond to the thickness of the vehicle registration plate, so that the plate placed inside the recess remains flush with the surrounding frame and formed by said recess.
The depth of the recess may be slightly greater than the thickness of the license plate, at least one side of the inner edge of the recess having a groove into which an edge of the license plate can be introduced.
The recess can define a frame on its four sides, and two opposite sides of the inner edges of the recess can each have a groove for introducing the corresponding edges of the license plate.
For the variant mentioned above, the distance between two opposite edges of the recess, at least one of the edges of which comprises a groove, will be slightly smaller than the corresponding dimension of the license plate retained by the support.
The support will advantageously be made in one piece by molding. It can be made of plastic.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of a support for a license plate of a motor vehicle.

As shown in the drawing, the support is in the form of a molded plate 1 having in its middle a recess 2. The recess 2 has a surface substantially equal to that of the license plate that it is supposed to receive . The depth of the recess 2 is likewise substantially equal to or a little greater than the license plate that it is supposed to receive.
As visible in the drawing, the recess defines a perimeter formed by four sides 3, 4, 5, 6. Sides 3, 4 and 5 are simply intended to surround the license plate which will be placed inside the 'recess 2. They therefore have only a maintenance function, as well as an aesthetic function. On the other hand, the edge 6 is wider than the edges 3, 4 and 5, so as to allow the application of an advertising message. This advertising message will be applied to the edge 6 by printing or thermophotographic methods, or by engraving or by relief printing.
The advertising message could be the name of a garage, the name of a company, the name of a product, etc.
As seen in fig. 2, the support is in the form of a molded plate and can therefore be made of light metal or plastic. In the embodiment of fig. 1 and 2, the recess is dimensioned so as to receive inside its registration plate which is substantially the same size as the recess. The assembly of the license plate - support assembly is therefore carried out very simply. The license plate, not shown, is placed inside the recess 2 and the support 1 and the plate are applied against the body of the vehicle where they are to be fixed. Using a drill, two holes are made through the license plate, the support 1 and the vehicle body, and screws or rivets are introduced into these holes, not shown.
The assembly is thus fixed to the vehicle. It is obvious that the advertising medium will have been applied to the edge 6 before the attachment to the vehicle.
We notice in fig. I and 2 that the inner sides of the edges 4 and 6 of the recess 2 have a groove 7, respectively 8, extending the recess 2 for a short distance inside the edges 4 and 6. These grooves represent a variant of the embodiment of the support described above, in which the recess is made at a width slightly less than the license plate that it must receive. The license plate can however be placed in the recess 2 by introducing one of these long sides inside the groove 7, respectively 8 and by thus rotating it along the axis of this groove so that it can take its place in the recess 2.
It will then be moved laterally by a half-thickness of groove in the recess and the support - license plate assembly will be fixed as in the previous embodiment. It is obvious that only one groove can be provided, for example groove 18 on the edge
6 of the support 1, the groove 7 then being nonexistent. The support which has just been described has the advantage of being extremely simple and has a very low cost price if it is produced by molding. It is very easily mounted on a vehicle with the license plate that it supports and has a very satisfactory aesthetic effect. It can be produced in different colors, as can the advertising message applied on edge 6.
As the embodiment of Figs. 1 and 2, the support shown in fig. 3 is in the form of a molded plate 10 having in its middle a recess 1 1 intended to receive a license plate and defining three edges 12, 13 and 14. As visible in FIG. 3, the edges 12 and 14 are in the form of thin lateral edges intended to hold the registration plate placed in the recess 11 and the edge 13 has a larger surface than that of the edges 12 and 14 and is intended to serve as an advertising medium. The depth of the recess 11 is, as for the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2, substantially equal to or slightly greater than the thickness of the license plate that it is supposed to receive.
When it is placed in the recess 11, the license plate will bear against the inner edges of the sides 12, 13 and 14 and slightly exceed the support 10 as shown by the dotted line 15 in FIG. 3.
The mounting of the support shown in the variant of FIG. 3 is carried out in the same manner as the mounting of the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2. The license plate, not shown, is placed inside the recess 11 so as to bear against the interior edges of the sides 12, 13 and 14. The support 10 and license plate assembly is then applied against the surface of the vehicle where it is to be fixed and two holes are drilled through the license plate, the support 10 and the vehicle body, and screws or rivets are introduced into these holes not shown .
As the embodiment of Figs. 1 and 2, the variant of FIG. 3 may be produced by plastic molding and the advertising medium will be applied to the edge 13 either during the molding operation or after said operation.
It is obvious that the support which has just been described can undergo many modifications. For reasons of discretion and aesthetics, the support which has just been described comprises only a single edge intended to receive an advertising message. This edge is made so as to remain small. Thus, the advertising message remains modest and tasteful. However, it is obvious that the support can be produced so as to form a wider edge or several edges each intended to support an advertising message.
