PATENTANSPRÜCHE

PATENT CLAIMS
1. Cable gland for flat cables, the cable gland consisting of an upper and a lower molded part (2, 3) with at least one through opening (7, 12) and at least one sealing element (4), which is in a recess (8) of the upper molded part (2) is arranged and that when screwing together the two form.
Parts (2, 3) on the one hand on a bevel (9) of the recess (8) and on the other hand on a led in the recess (8) approach (11) of the lower molded part (3), so that the flat cable (1) clamped and the lead-through opening (12) of the lower molded part (3) is sealed, characterized in that the sealing element (4) is an O-ring, the upper edge (13) of the lead-through opening (12) of the lower molded part located in the shoulder (11) (3) is rounded and the O-ring is supported on this rounded edge (13) so that the cross sections of the through openings (7, 12) of the upper and lower molded part (2, 3) are approximately the same as the cross section of the flat cable (1) ,
The through opening (7) of the upper molded part (2) has a rounding (10) at the exit point of the flat cable (1) and that the upper molded part (2) is supported directly on the lower molded part (3) in the clamped state.
2. Cable gland for flat cable, according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper molded part (19) has two recesses (23) each with a sealing element (27) and a lead-through opening (24) and the lower molded part (20) has two approaches (25 ) with a through opening (26).
The invention relates to a cable gland for flat cables, the cable gland consisting of an upper and a lower molded part with at least one through opening and at least one sealing element, which is arranged in a recess in the upper molded part and which, when the two molded parts are screwed together, on the one hand on a bevel the recess and, on the other hand, is supported on a shoulder of the lower molded part guided in the recess, so that the flat cable is clamped and the through opening of the lower molded part is sealed.
In a known, commercially available cable gland, the sealing element consists of a press ring, a sealing ring and a sealing wedge, the sealing ring enclosing the sealing wedge and being conically fitted into the press ring. Depending on the size and number of flat cables to be screwed together, the corresponding lead-through opening is created by subsequent processing of the sealing wedge and the sealing ring. The sealing element is inserted into a recess of the upper molded part of the cable gland which is adapted to its shape, the recess having bevels which rest on the upper edge of the sealing element. On the other hand, the sealing element is supported on a shoulder of the lower molded part, which is guided in the recess of the upper molded part.
When the two molded parts are screwed together, the bevels of the recess in the upper molded part cause that
Sealing element is deformed, the flat cable being clamped and the lead-through opening being sealed.
On the one hand, this cable gland has the advantage that it is suitable for flat cables of various sizes, numbers and arrangements. On the other hand, however, the three-part
Sealing element can be regarded as a disadvantage in itself, since it has to be specially manufactured and is relatively expensive, the subsequent production of the cable lead-through opening additionally having an expensive effect. Another disadvantage is that the clamping forces generated when the molded parts are screwed together cannot be limited, so that the flat cable can be clamped in an impermissibly strong manner. In addition, the cable can be bent directly at the pinching point, which could cause additional loads.
The invention, as characterized in the claims, aims to eliminate the above disadvantages and solves the problem of creating an improved cable gland for flat cables, in which a simpler, more cost-effective sealing element is provided, the clamping forces are limited by stops and the flat cable outside of the Clamping point is guided positively.
The advantages achieved with the invention are essentially to be seen in the fact that a commercially available, inexpensive O-ring is used as the sealing element. It is also advantageous that the clamping forces are limited by stops and the flat cable cannot be bent at the clamping point, as a result of which damage to the cable is largely avoided and its service life is increased.
Two exemplary embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the accompanying drawing and are explained in more detail below. Show it:
1 shows a cross section of an enlarged first embodiment of the cable gland according to the invention,
2 shows a plan view of the cable gland according to FIG. 1 on a smaller scale when using one or two flat cables,
Fig. 3 shows a cross section of an enlarged second embodiment of the cable gland according to the invention and
Fig. 4 is a plan view of the cable gland according to Figure 3 on a smaller scale.
The cable gland shown in FIG. 1 for at least one flat cable 1 has an upper molded part 2, a lower molded part 3, a sealing element 4 in the form of a commercially available O-ring, a rubber seal 5 and four screws 6. A through opening 7 is provided in the upper molded part 2, which has approximately the same cross section as the flat cable 1. A recess 8 of the upper molded part 2 is connected via bevels 9 to the through opening 7, which is provided with rounded portions 10 at the exit point of the flat cable 1.
The lower molded part 3 has a projection 11 which is guided in the recess 8 of the upper molded part 2 and in which there is likewise approximately the same cross section as that
Flat cable 1 having through opening 12 is located. Both the upper and the lower edge 13, 14 of the through opening 12 are rounded.
When screwing the upper and lower molded parts 2, 3 and the rubber seal 5 with a support, for example a waterproof installation containing electrical installations
Housing 15, the between the bevel 9 and the upper rounded edge 13 of the neck 11 is arranged
O-ring 4 pressed together, so that the flat cable 1 is jammed and the feed-through opening 12 of the lower one
Molding 3 is sealed. The deformation of the O-ring
4 is kept within defined limits, since the upper molded part 2 is supported directly on the lower molded part 3 in the screwed state.
In Fig. 2 with 1,2,4 and 6 are the same parts as in
of Fig. 1. When using the cable gland for two flat cables 16 of corresponding thickness, an additional sealing element can be provided, for example in the form of a round profile part 17 (right part of FIG. 2).
The cable screw connection shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 for two individual flat cables 18 has an upper molded part 19, a lower molded part 20, a rubber seal 21 and four screws 22. This cable gland differs from that described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 only in that the upper molded part 19 has two recesses 23 and two through openings 24 and the lower molded part 20 has two lugs 25 and two through openings 26, and that two sealing elements 27 in Form of O-rings are provided.
