Description
The present invention relates to a compressed air massage device.
As a device for effective pressure massage of a person's skin or muscles, a massager is known which is provided with a cover made of rubber or the like, which is wrapped around the body part of the person to be treated and by means of a pressurized fluid such as e.g. Compressed air is inflated to exert a massaging pressure on the body part, thereby massaging the body part. In order to improve the massaging effect in such a massager, it is known to divide the sheath into several airtight compartments, so that the pressurized fluid can successively enter the airtight compartments using a distribution valve to reduce the massage pressure as a result of the inflation of the Exercise cover on the part of the body part of the person to be treated. Examples of such devices are described in Japanese Patent Publication No. 41794/1976 and Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 17673/1978.
The older known devices are characterized in that they have four electromagnetic switching valves which correspond to four massage shells, the valves being individually controlled by a rotary switch with four contacts, so that compressed air can be successively released to the different shells. In the newer, known devices, the compressed air is supplied to the four massage shells using a set of four control valves for supplying the compressed air to the corresponding sheath and a further set of four transmission valves for confirming the control valves mentioned.
The complexity of this mechanism, which involves cumbersome hose arrangements, is a serious disadvantage of conventional massage devices. In addition, massage devices of this type, including the devices mentioned above, use a rotary compressor of any type or a diaphragm pump as a means of generating pressure in a fluid, such as air or Liquid, used. The application of a massage device, which has such a compressor, to a living body, has proven to be impracticable for safety reasons, in that the pressure difference between the nominal pressure and the maximum pressure of the compressor is relatively large, which entails the possibility that the by the Compressor generated pressure becomes too large. In order to cope with this disadvantage, the conventional massage device has been provided with pressure limiting valves and regulator valves to ensure a safe pressure for massaging the person, but this entails the risk of a valve defect.
It is therefore the task of creating a safe massage device for both domestic and medical use, which is simple in construction and operation and by means of which a fluid under pressure can be effectively supplied to each sleeve.
This is achieved by a device according to claim 1. Since the piston in the compressor of the device according to the invention is moved back and forth by magnetic attraction forces that are generated by an electromagnet arrangement, the difference between the nominal pressure and the maximum pressure can be kept relatively small, which is why this device is safe on human beings Body can be applied.
The distributor device of the device according to the invention has a simply constructed stationary element, and the rotating element has a recess for selectively connecting the inlet opening of the stationary element to one of its outlet openings. The compressor and the distribution device have a simple structure, so that the massager is small and handy

The massage device according to the invention achieves an effective pressure massage by expanding a sleeve wrapped around the area to be massaged by means of compressed air. 1 shows a state in which the device according to the invention is used to massage one of the legs S of a person. The massage device consists essentially of an operating device 1 for generating and delivering compressed air, one or more sleeves 60 which are inflated by the compressed air from the operating device 1 to exert the massage pressure on the leg S, and air supply means 50 for supplying the sleeves 60 composed with the compressed air from the operating device 1. In order to increase the massage effect of the massage device constructed in this way, two air shells are used in this exemplary embodiment, one of which has three airtight compartments 61a, 61b and 61c and the other has an airtight compartment 61d, the compressed air successively reaching the individual airtight compartments . As already stated, the conventional massage devices require a large number of individual valves to control the supply of compressed air to the individual airtight compartments of the casing. By means of the present invention, the compressed air, which constantly maintains a safe pressure value, can be effectively supplied to the individual airtight compartments by means of a single distributor device of simple construction.
The operating device has, as shown schematically in Fig. 2, essentially a linear electromagnetic compressor 2 for generating the compressed air, a control device 20 for adjusting the flow rate of the compressed air supplied by the compressor 2 and a rotating distributor device 30 for the optional supply of each airtight compartment of the Sheath 60 with compressed air from the control device 20. The operating device 1 is also provided with a timer 11 for setting the time required for the massage. The linear compressor 2, as can also be seen in FIG. 3, has an electromagnet 4 with two poles, around which induction coils 4 'are wound, which is fixedly mounted on the housing of the compressor 2, a piston 3 with an armature 3' which passes through the magnetic attraction force generated by the electromagnet 4 is attracted, a coil spring 7, which presses the piston 3 against a compression space 5, a suction opening 8, which is provided with a check valve 8 ', and an outlet opening 9, which is a check valve 9 ' having. The electromagnet intermittently generates a magnetic field by supplying the induction coil 4 'with an alternating current from the supply source 12, so that the armature 3' of the piston 3 is attracted intermittently, as a result of which the piston moves against the electromagnet. If the coil 4 'of the electromagnet 4 does not carry any electrical current, the piston 3 returns driven by the restoring force of the coil spring 7. As a result of the alternating current supply to the electromagnet 4, the piston 3 is moved back and forth in accordance with the frequency of the alternating current. The reciprocating movement of the piston is safely guided by means of a guide rod 6, which is fastened to the housing of the compressor. The check valve 8 'at the suction opening 8 has the function of allowing the air which enters the interior of the operating device 1 through a filter 10 to flow into the compression space 5, whereas the check valve 8' at the outlet opening 9 has the function of to discharge the intake opening 8 into the compression space 5 from the compression space 5. The air is displaced by means of the reciprocating movement of the piston 3, in other words
durch den Filter 10 und die Ansaugöffnung 8 in den Kompressionsraum eingeführt, dort komprimiert und durch die Auslassöffnung 9 ausgestossen. inserted through the filter 10 and the suction opening 8 into the compression space, compressed there and ejected through the outlet opening 9.
The electromagnetic linear compressor 2 with the above construction has the following advantage.
As can be seen from curve I in Fig. 4, the discharge pressure P generated by the compressor is stabilized at a relatively low pressure Pj when the pressure exceeds the nominal pressure Pr of the compressor, and the flow rate Q decreases. This means that the difference between the maximum pressure that can be generated with the present linear compressor and its nominal pressure is relatively small. In conventional compressors, on the other hand, the outlet pressure P increases further when it exceeds the nominal pressure Pr, as shown by curve II in FIG. 4, for example, with the flow rate Q decreasing, and the pressure subsequently becomes P2 at a remarkably high pressure stabilized. From the description so far it can already be seen that the present massage device with a linear compressor is more suitable for application to a living body than massage devices in which a rotary compressor is used.
In the described embodiment, the compressor 2 can be operated with normal alternating current (full wave). A rectified half-wave current, as shown in FIG. 5 and generated by means of a rectifier (diode) 13 through which an alternating current flows, can also be used. As a result of using a rectified half-wave current for the compressor, the electromagnet 4 intermittently generates a magnetic field so that the piston 3 can return to the compression space 5 by the restoring force of the spring 7 if no voltage is generated in the negative region of the shaft. As a result, the piston is moved back and forth according to the frequency of the alternating current applied in such a way that a pressure suitable for the massage of the person is created.
The compressed air released from the compressor 2 is fed to the flow control device 20 via a pipe 14. The flow control device 20 has a membrane 23 which is axially displaceable by actuating a screw 25 by means of a manually operable button 14. The control device 20 also has an outlet connection 22, which is located on the side of the diaphragm 23 opposite the screw spindle 25, in such a way that

The compressed air generated by the compressor 2 enters the control device 20 via an inlet opening 21 and is released therefrom after passing through the narrow space between the nozzle and the membrane 23 via the outlet nozzle 22. When the screw 25 is moved downward, the space between the diaphragm and the nozzle narrows, so that the amount of compressed air discharged is reduced. In this way, the massage pressure exerted on the person can be adjusted.
The rotating air distributor device 30 for selectively feeding the compressed air supplied by the control device 20 to the corresponding airtight compartments of the sleeves 60 will now be described below with reference to FIGS. 2 and 6 to 8. The distributor device 30 essentially has a motor 31, a rotating disk 33 arranged on an axis 32 of the motor, a rotating element 34 with grooves 35, in which the outer edge of the rotating disk 33 engages in order to rotate the disk 33, which is caused by the Motor 31 is generated to be transferred to the rotary element 34, and a stationary element 40, the lower surface 41 of which is in close contact with the upper side 36 of the rotary element by the force of a spring 39 which presses the rotary element 34 upward.
The stationary element 40 is fastened to a frame 47 attached to the motor 31 and provided with an inlet opening 42 in the center of its underside. The compressed air supplied by the compressor 2 through the regulating device 20 is guided to the inlet opening 42 via a through hole 43. Around the inlet opening 42, outlet openings 44a, 44b, 44c and 44d are arranged at an equal distance from one another in a number corresponding to the airtight compartments 61a-61d of the casing.
The rotary element 34, as can be seen from Fig. 8, has on its upper side a connecting channel 37 for connecting the inlet opening 42 to one of the outlet openings 44a-44d of the stationary element 40 and one or more throttle openings 38 for letting the air-tight compartments escape introduced compressed air, which throttle openings are arranged in the direction of rotation of the rotary element 34 after the connecting channel 37.
When the motor 31 is driven so that the rotating member 34 and the stationary member 40 communicate with each other, the compressed air supplied through the through hole 43 and the inlet port 42 is sequentially discharged through one of the outlet ports 44a-44d and subsequently by means of an air supply 50 fed to the corresponding compartment of the envelope. The compressed air supplied to the corresponding compartment of the casing 60 escapes through the throttle opening 38, which is connected to one of the outlet openings 44a-44d, and is released from the distributor device 30 through the narrow opening between the rotating disk 33 and the rotary element 34. The air supply 50 consists of four hoses 53a, 53b, 53c and 53d which connect the individual outlet openings 44a-44d to the corresponding compartments 61a-61d. At one end of the air supply 50 there is a plug 51, which can be inserted into a plug-in base 46 of the operating device, so that the plug connections 52 can be removably inserted into a block 45, so as to connect to the outlet openings 44a-44d. At the other end of the air supply 50, a plurality of coupling parts 54a, 54b, 54c and 54d are arranged, which are detachably connected to receiving arrangements, each of which is arranged on the corresponding compartment 61a-61d of the sleeve.
1 shows an operating state in which the operating device 1 and the sheath 60 wound around the leg S are connected to one another by the air supply 50. In this state, when the compressor 2 and the distributor device 30 are actuated, compressed air is successively supplied to the corresponding compartments of the sheath, which results in the massage pressure on the leg S.
As is evident from the description, the massage device according to the invention has the advantage that the massage is carried out safely and reliably using a compressor which is able to generate a relatively low pressure difference between the nominal pressure and the maximum pressure and a distribution direction more easily Design. The massager has a simple mechanism, which allows a size reduction and makes the device handy and suitable for safe home use.
