A single, previous wooden shingle about 12 cm long and 4.5 cm wide is shown in Fig. 1. The shingle tapers from front to back. Cladding facades with such shingles is time-consuming and relatively expensive. Fig. 2 shows a slate strip consisting of a flat piece, which has a straight longitudinal side and a side provided with wave formations.
In Fig. 3, 1 denotes a wooden shingle strip. One long side of the strip has semicircular formations 2 which, when laid, imitate the lower parts of individual shingles arranged next to one another. The formations 2 can also run in a zigzag or wavy line. The strip 1 on the upper longitudinal side has a shoulder 3, in which a wooden stiffening sheet 4 lies and fills it flush. The fibers of the stiffening sheet 4 are offset or. across the fibers of the strip, which improves the stamina, which is essential to maintain the flat shape. The stiffening sheet 4 can also consist of a wood with higher strength than the strip 1.
The strip 1 can, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, also be formed from plywood. The soft inner layer 1 'is in contact with the outer layers 4' acting as reinforcement. The three parts 1 ', 4' are intimately connected to each other by gluing and together form a solid whole. As can be seen from FIGS. 7 and 8, for example, six strips 1 placed in a scale-like manner form an approximately 30-40 cm long and approximately 27-35 cm wide plate. The plate can be made in any size. The strips lying parallel to each other in length are offset from one another, such that the incisions 5 of the one strip in each case in the direction of the shingles, respectively. whose apex 6 of the formation 2 are from other strips.
The strips 1 are provided according to FIGS. 10 and 1 la from the straight longitudinal sides to the semicircular formations 2 with channel-shaped depressions 10 'which are transverse to the longitudinal direction and run in the direction of the wood fibers and serve to absorb dilatations.
10 to 17 has three scale-like strips 1, which are connected to the reinforcing strip 8

The strips 1 are in hook-like cuts 7 of the reinforcement strip 8 and have surfaces rising downwards.
The exposed side of the reinforcement bar 8 has a dilatation joint 10 running in the longitudinal direction. The reinforcement bar 8 has a groove on the lower longitudinal side
12 versehen, welche eine abwärts gerichtete Feder 11 formiert. Die obere Längsseite weist einen rechtwinkligen Falz 12 provided which forms a downward spring 11. The upper long side has a rectangular fold
Fig. 15, 16,17 zeigen allfällig benötigte Seitenab-schlussstücke. Die vorgenannten Sei- 13, which is open against the back. In the case of two strips joined together with their long sides, the associated spring 11 of a reinforcing strip 8 engages in the fold 13 of another reinforcing strip lying at the top. If larger elements are desired, correspondingly more strips 1 with their springs 11 on the reinforcement strips 8 are inserted into one another in the folds 13 on the reinforcement strips located below and provide a tight seal. The strips 1 with the reinforcing strips 8 together form a ready-to-lay element. The latter can also be an elongated body, such as a strap or a hallway. 15, 16, 17 show any side end pieces required. Several strips 1 are in turn each provided with a reinforcement strip 8. The aforementioned
In principle, end caps have the same design as plates.
With the element described, the production of facades is significantly faster and can be manufactured in a way that is cost-effective.
The element is suitable for cladding facades of all kinds. Thanks to the reinforcing strips 8 on the strips 1, the element has a high degree of strength and warping is avoided or at least severely restricted, io the elements can be laid quickly, and the characteristic design ensures that elements joined together are sealed. The dilatation joint 10 in the reinforcement strip 8 as well as the groove-like depressions 10 'in the strip 1 make a significant contribution to maintaining the stamina. The sealing property and the stability of a facade formed by the elements according to the invention is significantly higher than with individually arranged, conventional shingles. The element can of course be impregnated with suitable chemical protective agents.
The strips 1 can also be formed from individual shingles.
