II. The dye mixtures prepared by the process according to claim I.
III. Use of the dyes according to claim II for dyeing non-textile substrates dyeable with anionic dyes.
The invention relates to a particular embodiment of the invention described in main patent 599 250 for the production of dye mixtures.
The invention thus relates to a process for the preparation of dye mixtures, which is characterized in that 1 mol of the diazo compound is obtained from an amine in the form of the free acid of the formula
EMI1.4
corresponds, and 1 mol of the diazo compound from an amine in the form of the free acid of the formula
EMI1.5
corresponds to a coupling component mixture which by condensation under acidic conditions of 4 mol of the compound of the formula
EMI1.6
in which M is hydrogen or one equivalent of a cation, is obtained with 2.8 mol of formaldehyde or with 3.4 mol of formaldehyde or with 0.8 mol of resorcinol and 3.73 mol of formaldehyde, the formaldehyde being used in the form of paraformaldehyde. M is preferably hydrogen or
Alkali metal cation.
The diazo compounds from the amines, which correspond to the formulas (I) and (II) in the form of the free acids, are preferably used as a mixture of both diazo compounds.
The implementations are e.g. as described in the main patent and the dyes obtained have good dyeing properties, particularly on leather, e.g. as stated in the main patent.
In the following Examples 1 to 3 the preparation of
Described condensation products that mean parts
Parts by weight and the percentages by weight. The temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
example 1
276 parts of salicylic acid, 100 parts of 20% sodium hydroxide solution and 42 parts of paraformaldehyde are stirred for 10 hours at 98 ". The resulting viscous melt, which no longer has an odor of formaldehyde, is mixed with 550 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution and with what water put on 1000 parts.
Example 2
276 parts of salicylic acid, 130 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution and 51 parts of paraformaldehyde are stirred at 98 "for 10 hours. The resulting viscous melt, which no longer has an odor of formaldehyde, is mixed with 500
Parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution were added and water was added to 1000 parts.
Example 3
138 parts of salicylic acid, 75 parts of 10% sodium hydroxide solution and 24 parts of paraformaldehyde are refluxed for 2 hours and then 22 parts within 1 hour

After coupling is complete, 7 parts of sodium nitrite, in the form of a 4N aqueous solution, are added to the suspension and, while stirring, 30 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid and 30 parts of ice are added dropwise at 5. After the diazotization has ended, the diazo suspension is added dropwise with stirring to a template of 100 parts of the condensate solution prepared according to Example 1 at pH 13-14 and 5, the pH value 13 being maintained, if appropriate, by adding sodium hydroxide.
The resulting dye is isolated by adding sodium chloride and hydrochloric acid. It is dried a brown powder, which dyes leather in level orange brown tones.
A dye with similar good properties is obtained if, instead of the condensation product prepared according to Example 1, 100 parts of the condensate solution prepared according to Example 2 are used and the procedure is otherwise the same as above.
Likewise, a dye with similarly good properties but with a redder shade is obtained if 100 parts of the condensate solution prepared according to Example 3 are used instead of the condensation product prepared according to Example 1.
The dyes of Example 4 can be used according to Dyeing Examples A to D of the main patent, with good leather dyeings being obtained.
