REVENDICATIONS

CLAIMS
1. Cape for a chimney, characterized in that it comprises at least two elements of frustoconical shape, placed at the end of a chimney and coming to fit one on the other by forming lateral ventilation channels activating the draw, and which are delimited by ribs.
2. Cape according to claim 1, characterized in that an element comprises lateral faces provided with folds forming reinforcing and fixing ribs.
3. Cloak according to claim 2, characterized in that the lateral faces are provided on one of the ends of adjustable suction flaps and on the other of the ends of adjustable antireflection flaps.
4. Cloak according to claim 1, characterized in that the reinforcing ribs of one element fit into the bending radius of the ribs of another element, definitively blocking an element in the radial and axial direction relative to the other.
The present invention relates to a mantel for a chimney.
In a known device, it is a question of a spherically shaped mitron which pivots about a central axis and which is positioned in the predominant direction of a wind, the mitron being placed at the top of the chimney.
This device reduces the gas outlet section and can cause, if the air inlet is in the low pressure zone, a reversal of the draft which results in a dangerous slowdown of the hearth, and sometimes even its extinction.
As the braking of the evacuation of gases and even the reversal of the draft originate from the sudden changes of weather, which modify the temperature, the humidity and the atmospheric pressure of the air, with in addition the parameters of the prevailing winds , we sought to find a device which takes into account all the elements mentioned above.
To this end, the cap, object of the invention, aims to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above while being of a simple, functional and aesthetic construction.
The cape is characterized in that it comprises at least two frustoconical elements, placed at the end of a chimney, and coming to fit one on the other by forming lateral ventilation channels, activating the print and which are delimited by ribs.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the cape, object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a schematic elevation view of the cape.
Fig. 2 shows a schematic plan view in accordance with lafig. 1.
Fig. 3 * represents a partial section in profile along the line I-I of FIG. 2.
Fig. 4 shows a plan view cut along line II-II, showing the principle of fitting.
We will now describe with reference to FIGS. 1-2-3, the cape according to the invention, which comprises three elements 1-2-3 having a frustoconical shape and a hexagonal section, and which are mounted on each other.
Element 1 has six identical side faces. A lateral face 4 comprises two folds 5-6 over the entire length of the lateral face 4 and which makes it possible to stiffen and fix the different lateral faces between them.
The element 3 is also provided with fixing legs 8-9-10, allowing the final positioning of the elements on one end of the chimney 11.
As the elements 1-2-3 are all identical, when one element is positioned on the other, due to the ribs which are present on all the faces, there are channels 12-13 two in number on each face and which considerably increase the draft of the chimney 11 and this due to the self-ventilation taking place in the direction of the arrows A and B (fig. 3).
The frustoconical shape of the elements 1-2-3 allows quick fixing by fitting according to the principle of a cone.
In addition, opposite fig. 4, the ribs 7-7 'slide into the folding radius 14 of the ribs 6-6', preventing rotation of one element relative to the other.
The side face 4 has an adjustable suction flap 15 and an adjustable backdraft flap 16. It goes without saying that all the lateral faces are fitted with suction flaps and non-return flaps.
As shown in fig. 3 the side face 4 has adjustable flaps 15-16, in the open position, while the flaps of elements 2-3 are in the closed position in the present embodiment.
In the embodiment described above, a hexagonal section was taken, however in one or more variant embodiments, it is possible to have a section comprising at least three faces.
It will also be recalled that during assembly, it is possible
increase the number of identical faces so as to have a larger diameter, or so as to synchronize the diameter of the cape with the dimensions of the chimney.
The ribs can be attached or of the same material as the side faces.
