Abstract

Using this device, the stringing and hanging of tobacco leaves are to be automated to a great extent. The device has aligned, fixed storage hooks (5), hanging in rows, and a lifting mechanism which can be moved along the row of hooks by means of a crab (4). Suspended from the crab (4) is a column (11) on which a lifting trolley (12) is guided. A loading fork (19) is mounted on the lifting trolley (12) so as to be pivotable about a pivoting axle (18). Provided above the pivoting axle (18) on the loading fork (19) is a guide part (20) which is guided along the column (11) on a guide path (21) of the column (11) during displacement of the lifting trolley (12). Provided at the upper end of the guide path (21) is a projection (22) against which the guide part (20) of the loading fork (19) strikes when the lifting trolley (12) is completely raised, as a result of which the loading fork (19) is pivoted about the pivoting axle (12). In this case, the load-bearing rod (25) located in the holders (24) of the prongs (23) of the loading fork (19) is engaged in the hooks (5). To unload the hooks (5), either the loading fork (19) can be retained or exchanged for a rigid, special fork. <IMAGE>
