The invention relates to a continuous casting plant for steel, with a casting platform and associated mold, a secondary cooling zone extending between the mold and a straightening device with an at least partially curved, sectioned opening having an opening on the inside of the radius and provided with a cover A strand guide surrounded by a cooling chamber, a starting strand and a movable hoist arranged under the casting platform for installing and removing the sections. The invention also relates to a method for operating the continuous casting plant.
A number of methods and devices are already known for installing and removing strand guide sections or segments in slab systems with larger casting formats. For example, there are arched systems in which rail guides are assigned to each segment, which are initially at right angles to the strand track and, running obliquely upwards, are gradually bent into the vertical. With this system, the segment to be removed must be brought through the casting platform level, so that a through opening with a cover in the casting platform is unavoidable. This is precisely what should be avoided, because it causes usable space on the casting platform, also because of the necessary storage space for the cover, to be lost and the Workflow is hindered on the casting platform.
Another disadvantage is that the hall crane has to be used to remove the cover and the segments and is therefore not available for other work. The cooling chamber of this system extends up to the casting platform, so that there is no space under the casting platform for any can be used for other purposes. In addition, the volume of the cooling chamber and thus the corrosive moisture range are increased considerably
A continuous casting plant is also known, in which a part of the continuous path directly following the mold is moved as a self-contained structural unit along a pair of horizontal rails running under the casting platform.
A crane is brought on the same rails to the area of the extended part of the strand track, whereby the corresponding, multi-part cooling chamber wall must first be opened, which takes some time. The crane is used to convey the following, lined up segments, which are guided in guide rails, until the defective segment is brought out. It is obvious that, for example, in the case of a segment to be replaced in the area of the straightening device, the amount of work required to remove the non-defective segments is considerable, and there must also be a parking space for all these parts. This whole procedure is particularly time-consuming because the hydraulic lines for regulating the contact pressure and the spray medium lines have to be detached from all upstream segments and re-attached during installation.
In addition, all segments must be readjusted after installation.
In continuous casting systems with smaller casting formats, for example in bloom systems, the segments of the strand guide are mostly lifted through the opening for the column in the casting platform by means of the hall crane, which is known to be very time-consuming. For bloom systems with smaller casting formats, the entire strand guide is extended as a unit opposite to the direction of discharge.
Opening the corresponding cooling chamber wall and extending and retracting the entire strand guide also require a lot of time. The space for extending behind the continuous caster on the hall floor cannot be used for any other purposes. Since bloom plants are generally built as multi-line plants, this lost space is considerable, which increases the costs for the halls. In continuous casting plants with a short start-up strand, however, some rollers in the strand guide have to be driven, which makes it more difficult to expand the strand guide as a unit, but also to lift individual segments with the hall crane through the mold opening.
The aim of the present invention is to create a system by means of which installation and dismantling work on strand guide sections can be carried out in a time-saving manner without having to accept any disruptions or hindrances to the workflow on the casting track. Furthermore, the availability of the hall cranes should be increased and space and space should be saved.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the cover of the opening can be moved and the sections can be selectively removed and inserted through the opening by means of the lifting device.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that, to replace the sections, the cover is moved away from the opening, the hoist is brought over the section to be replaced, this section is lifted out of the cooling chamber, the new section is lowered by the hoist and the cover is moved back to its starting position becomes.
In the system according to the invention, the sections can be brought in and out by the hoist under the casting platform without disrupting the operation on the casting platform and that for the hall crane. A defective section can be selectively lifted out of the cooling chamber without having to interrupt supply lines to the other sections. The procedure for changing the sections saves time. Space can be saved on and under the casting platform as well as behind the continuous caster. The space between the cover and the casting platform is available for other purposes.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention is given by the fact that the cover, as a rigid wall part of the cooling chamber, can be moved horizontally on rails in the direction of the outgoing strand. The available space above the draining line can be used.
The rigid design makes the construction fail-safe and the horizontal movement enables the system structure to be simplified.
In order to be able to make advantageous use of the space mentioned between the horizontal wall part and the casting platform, a carriage for receiving a short start-up line can be arranged on the cover. The great advantage of this arrangement is that it does not require the space for the start-up line, which is decisive for the operation of the system, and that it takes little time to move it into the mold from below, which reduces the dead time between two casts compared to a run-in with a long start-up line and thus increases profitability .
By combining the cover and parking space of the trolley in one construction, material and space can be saved.
It is advantageous if the cover is connected to an extension on which running rails for the carriage are arranged and the carriage is in the waiting position between the end of the cooling chamber and a start-up line lifting device, in which position the start-up line can be brought onto the car with the help of a deflection device By arranging the trolley outside the cooling chamber area, loading the trolley with the starting line is simplified.
In order to save material and to simplify the construction, the deflection device can simultaneously serve as a locking device for the carriage.
So that a separate drive mechanism for the cover is unnecessary, the carriage can be releasably locked to the machine frame in the waiting position, and the cover can be moved under the carriage. Furthermore, the carriage has a drive mechanism which, in the locked position, serves as a drive for the cover. A simplification of the system is thus given.
To further simplify the system construction, it is advantageous to use the drive mechanism to drive either the starting line or the running wheels of the trolley.
A time-saving and construction-friendly design within the concept of the invention can be achieved if each section is hung at its upper end area in an upwardly open pivot bearing and its lower end area rests against a stationary stop and is releasably connected to the latter. This means that rails for guiding the sections when changing them can be dispensed with. A favorable further development of the last-mentioned embodiment can be achieved in that the stationary stop and the end region of the section resting thereon are designed as coupling plates which contain operating medium connections. The elimination of connecting flanges in the equipment lines simplifies the design.
In one embodiment of the method, the section is first pivoted about the pivot bearing into an approximately horizontal position by the hoist, then lifted out of the cooling chamber, the section to be replaced is lowered into the cooling chamber, inserted into the pivot bearing in the horizontal position and pivoted into the end position . This means that the time required to change the segment can be reduced again because the section only has to be uncoupled at one point.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is described below with reference to the drawing. They show schematically:
1 shows a vertical section through a system according to the invention and
FIG. 2 shows a section along the line II-II according to FIG. 1.
The circular arc continuous casting system for steel shown in FIG. 1 represents a 4-strand system for blooms. Each strand has a mold 1 in an opening 2 of the casting platform 3, a secondary cooling zone downstream of the mold 1 with a strand guide part 4 and strand guide sections in the form of segments 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, a straightening device 12, a decoupling point 13 for uncoupling a starting strand 14 from the hot strand 15 and a cutting unit, not shown. The strand guide part 4 and the segments 6-10 are arranged in a cooling chamber 18 which extends from the casting platform 3 to the hall floor 19.
On the inside of the radius, the cooling chamber 18 has an opening 20, indicated by a measuring line, with a horizontal cover 21 in the form of a rigid wall part with a structure 49, which together are part of an intermediate stage 22 described later. The cover 21 is approximately halfway between the casting platform 3 and the hall floor 19 and is horizontally movable by means of rollers 23 in the direction of the outgoing strands. The rollers 23 use supports 24 as rails, each lying approximately in the plane of the vertical side walls 26 of the cooling chamber 18 common to all 4 strands and fastened to the machine frame 25. The end of the cooling chamber is formed by an end wall 27 which extends vertically up to the wall part 21.
Each segment 6-10 has guide rollers 28, 29, the rollers 29 of the inside of the radius being able to be adjusted in a known manner with the aid of hydraulic cylinders - not shown - for the purpose of changing the format. At their upper end regions, the segments have pins 32, which are suspended in upwardly open, stationary pivot bearings 33, and at their lower end regions, upper coupling plates 34, which rest on stationary, lower coupling plates 35. Each pair of coupling plates 34, 35 contains operating fluid connections, for example water supply lines 38 to spray nozzles 39, hydraulic supply and discharge lines for the adjusting mechanism of the rollers 29, which have a similar course to the lines 38 and are therefore not shown.
The wall part 21 represents the movable intermediate platform 22 with a horizontal extension 40 attached to it, which is also equipped with rollers 23. Below the casting platform 3 and above the cooling chamber 18 there is a movable hoist in the form of I-profiles 42, 43 suspended crane bridge 44 with a lower chord trolley 45, which can be moved transversely to the horizontal running direction of the strands. In the case of a single-line system, the trolley 45 would suffice on a stationary I-rail, which is bent outside the cooling chamber area for the purpose of further conveying the conveyed goods. When the intermediate platform 22 has completely moved away together with the structure 49, the trolley 45 in the embodiment shown can be brought vertically over each segment 6-10 of all strands so that each segment can be selectively exchanged.
The segment 6 can, however, also be conveyed out through the opening 2 by means of the hall crane 50.
To replace a defective segment, the intermediate platform 22 is first moved away, at least so far that this segment has free access to the top, then the trolley 45 is brought vertically over the segment and the hook of the trolley 45 is lowered and in an approximately vertical center line of the Transport eyelet 51 located in the segment. The coupling plates 34, 35 are then released from one another by knocking off a wedge. By the upward movement of the hook, these plates 34, 35 are separated from one another, whereby the operating medium connections are also interrupted. The segment to be removed is first pivoted about the pin 32 of the pivot bearing 33 into an approximately horizontal position in order to then be lifted vertically out of the cooling chamber 18.
In the case of segment 6, for reasons of space, it may be necessary for the trolley 45 to move its horizontal position away from the strand a little after the segment has been pivoted before further lifting is possible.
To bring the new or repaired segment into the position vacated by the removed segment, it is lowered into the cooling chamber 18 in the horizontal position, the pin 32 is inserted into the pivot bearing 33 and the segment is pivoted into the end position.
The coupling plates 34, 35 are fixed to one another by hammering the wedge and the intermediate platform 22 is moved back to its starting position.
The system shown is equipped with a short on strand 14 per strand, which is decoupled from the hot strand 15 and lifted at the uncoupling point 13 by means of a starting strand lifting device 55 in the form of a winch. A carriage 56 with running wheels 57 for receiving the short starting line 14 is arranged on the extension 40 and specifically on running rails 58 which extend over the entire length of the intermediate platform 22. In the waiting position 59 shown between the end of the cooling chamber 27 and the starting line lifting device 55, the carriage 56 is held by a locking arm 62 that can be pivoted about an axis 61 attached to the machine frame such that the free end of the arm 62 fits into a recess at the rear end of the carriage 56 like a pawl .
A lever arm 63 connected to the locking arm 62 is therefore connected to a hydraulic cylinder 65 via an intermediate rod so that the arm 62 can be latched or disengaged. The arm 62 spans the lifting space of the winch 55. When the starting line 14 is lifted over the arm 62 by the winch 55, this arm 62 must be pivoted out of the lifting space in order to be locked to the carriage 56 again afterwards. In this position, the arm 62 serves in addition to its locking function at the same time as a device for deflecting the starting line 14 on the carriage 56. For this purpose, the arm 62 is provided on the upper, concave side with rollers 66, which with rollers 67 on the carriage 56 a Form roller table for start-up line 14.
A roller 70 arranged on the carriage 56 and driven by a drive mechanism, a motor 72, conveys the starting line 14 from the arm 62 to the carriage 56 and holds it fixed thereon
A pair of the running wheels 57 of the carriage 56 are driven so that the carriage 56, with the arm 62 disengaged, can travel over the rails 58 to an insertion point 71 for the starting strand 14 in the strand guide between the segments 6 and 7. In order to achieve this, the motor 72 of the roller 70, which is equipped with a coupling, serves to drive the roller 70 and the running wheels 57 alternately.
A folding door 73 is pulled up by a winch 74 to clear a passage opening in the cooling chamber wall. With the use of a short starting line that is to be driven into the mold 1 from below, it is necessary to design at least one roller interacting with a counter roller as a drive roller 78 per segment. It goes without saying that when a segment is removed, the power transmission to the driven roller 78 must therefore also be interrupted.
But if the wheels 57 are driven with the arm 62 latched, the carriage 56 remains stationary; for this, the intermediate stage 22 rolls under the carriage 56, so that the intermediate stage 22 can do without its own drive to open the cooling chamber 18, which means a simplification of the system. The circuit can be designed in such a way that the drive motors of the wheels 57 of all four carriages for moving the intermediate stage are excited simultaneously. Alternatively, only the pairs of wheels of the two outermost carriages can be operated. According to what has been described, the motor 72 can optionally be used to drive the roller 70, the running wheels 57 and the intermediate stage 22.
The invention can be used advantageously in bloom systems, since the distance between the guide rollers of the strand guide is sufficient to enable adjacent segments to be exchanged without hindrance. Similar conditions can also be found in slab plants for casting smaller formats or in billet plants for larger formats. The movable cover can also be replaced by foldable or pivotable covers without changing the general inventive concept. The cooling chamber wall facing the inside of the radius can also be designed concentrically to the circular arc of the strand with a corresponding shape of the cover. The illustrated embodiment shows a circular arc system. However, the same advantages according to the invention can also be achieved with a partially vertical or other curvature course of the strand path.
