The present invention relates to a reservoir for bulk products in the liquid or powder state.
Reservoirs are known with several independent compartments separated by a fixed wall, each comprising evacuation and / or filling means so that each of the compartments can be assigned to the transport of a different liquid or product. Reservoirs with rigid walls are also known internally containing flexible or rigid partitioning elements with a view to separating a liquid phase contained in the reservoir from contact with air in order to avoid parasitic or harmful reactions.
Reservoirs are also known provided with rigid outer walls associated with interior partitioning elements made of flexible material capable of dividing the enclosure formed by the reservoir into a plurality of capacities each capable of receiving a different product.
The previously known devices aim to produce two or more enclosures, which can be used independently of one another but cumulatively so that for the same transport the reservoir is used by filling the two neighboring enclosures with different products.
However, these devices have not resulted in a practical solution capable of industrial use; in fact we still have to solve the many problems which arise in particular to ensure the tightness of the neighboring enclosures, the mechanical strength of the intermediate partition between the two enclosures,
Evacuation and filling of independent enclosures, etc.
The invention relates to this end to a reservoir for bulk products in the liquid or powder state consisting of a rigid outer wall, characterized in that it comprises an inner partition made of a flexible material disposed at rest substantially in a plane of symmetry of the tank and dividing said tank into two independent enclosures, each enclosure, defined by the space located between the flexible partition and one half of the rigid wall, having an evacuation device and a filling device, the flexible partition being able to press against one or the other of the two symmetrical halves of the wall of the tank, so that one of the enclosures occupies the entire capacity of the tank, while the volume of the other is reduced to zero,
each enclosure being provided with a vacuum pump arranged on each of the two symmetrical halves of the reservoir, making it possible to evacuate the air or gas filling the corresponding enclosure so as to cause the intimate application of the flexible partition on the half of the corresponding rigid wall and to put said enclosure in an inactive position.
Other advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description which follows and which is given in connection with several particular embodiments of the invention given by way of example in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

Fig. 15 shows a plan view of the closure plate.
According to fig. 1 and 2, the tank 1 specially designed to be mounted on a road or rail transport vehicle is formed of two half-shells 2 and 2 'symmetrical and having a base 3, 3' or lower part sloping towards the center so to allow the flow of products; the two half-shells are provided with a collar 4, 4 'coming from their edge or attached by brazing or welding onto the latter, as shown in the detailed view of FIG. 2.
The two flanges 4 and 4 'are secured by screws and bolts and trap between them the peripheral edge 6 of the flexible partition 5 thus connected over its entire circumference to the wall of the tank and separating the latter into two enclosures or compartments 7 and 7' of variable capacity according to the position occupied by the flexible partition; the latter can be made of any suitable flexible material compatible with the products contained, such as in particular synthetic rubber; use will advantageously be made of the known materials used for the production of flexible containers used in the aeronautical industry.
Note according to detail seen in FIG. 8 that the discharge orifice 8 is provided with a valve device 9 resting on its seat, allowing in the closed position to ensure continuity in the surface of the wall, thus avoiding any catching, folding or sagging likely to cause deformation work of the flexible partition. The filling openings also include a closure device, ensuring the continuity of the interior wall without hollow or relief.
The partition 5 can alternatively be directed and placed against the wall of each of the half-shells, thus allowing one of the two enclosures to occupy the maximum space corresponding substantially to the full volume of the tank, the other enclosure being reduced to zero.
It is understood that it is thus possible to successively operate each of the enclosures by making it occupy the entire volume of the tank by moving the flexible partition; in this way each of the enclosures can be assigned to the transport of a specific product which is incompatible with the product of the other enclosure, without having to carry out the operations of cleaning the reservoir between two fillings. The tank object of the invention can be mounted on a means of transport and shuttling between two freight forwarding points, the use of the tank for the return freight being done simply by transferring the flexible partition putting the enclosure previously used in the inactive position, the other enclosure then occupying the entire space of the tank.
According to an important characteristic of the invention, each chamber is associated with a vacuum device consisting of a vacuum pump 10, 10 'making it possible to subject said chamber to a more or less high vacuum, thus causing an attractive suction effect. the flexible partition towards its desired position pressed against the wall of the half-shell corresponding to the enclosure placed in the inactive position, the opposite enclosure developing complementarily.
The alternative device for positioning the partition by vacuum has the advantage of being able to operate in complete safety; as the vacuum cannot in any event generate a pressure difference between the two walls except within the limit of atmospheric pressure, the vacuum device by vacuum pump is therefore preferred to a pressure device leaving a risk of accidental overpressure exceeding the standards tolerable by the cistern or tank. But the fact remains that in the event of failure of the vacuum device, it is possible to pressurize the enclosure to be developed to allow the corresponding installation of the flexible partition.
In each half-shell, a manhole 11, 11 'provides access to the interior of each chamber for technological maintenance and further comprises a filling orifice 12, 12'.
According to fig. 3 shows a variant of the device for fixing the flexible partition to the wall of the tank, the two half-shells 20, 20 'being connected together by a flat intermediate flange 21 provided with an internal groove 22 provided on one side with a curviform rim 23; a fastening element 24 penetrates into the latter, trapping the edge of the wall 26 of the flexible partition 25 by a set of bolts or screws 27 with a flat head, for example a socket head screw with hexagon socket. The element 26 comprises a rim 23 'symmetrical with the corresponding rim of the groove and allowing the partition 25 to be placed in one of the two positions 25 or 25' by following the curviform rim either of the groove or of the fastening element without having a fold or sharp edge.
Figs. 4 to 6 show a variant of the embodiment of the invention in which the flexible partition 30 is no longer arranged in a transverse plane of symmetry as in the example of FIG. 1, but in a longitudinal plane of symmetry, the connection device on the wall 31 of the tank being identical to those previously described. Here again, the wall of the reservoir is provided with a device capable of placing each of the two enclosures in a vacuum so as to cause the flexible partition to be put in place and the corresponding enclosure to be placed in the inactive position.
Each of the enclosures 34, 34 'has its own filling orifice 32, 32' and its emptying orifice 33, 33 'which is also specific; thus each of the enclosures can, as previously explained, be assigned to a particular product without thus requiring a cleaning operation if the tank is used for a product different from that previously transported; it will suffice to put the enclosure previously used in depression and therefore in inactive position to use the neighboring enclosure. We will now more precisely derive figs. 9 and 10.
On the chassis of the rail vehicle are arranged in series or battery three tanks 101, 101 ', 101 "comprising an inner median flexible partition taken between the flanges 103, 103' coming from the half-shells 104, 104 'forming the two halves of the tank .
The three reservoirs are joined together by the spacers 105, 105 ', 105 "attached to the walls of the reservoirs.
Each tank is generally cylindrical in shape resting on a conical base 106 in a shape known per se for the transport of powdery products.
At the top of the reservoir are arranged two manholes 107, 107 'provided with a cover and forming an upper filling orifice. Each orifice or manhole is specific and communicates with an interior enclosure delimited by a half-shell 104 or 104 ′ and the interior central partition. At this top opens into each chamber a liquid sprayer for cleaning the interior of the chamber in question, each of the sprayers is supplied by a pipe 109, 109 'running over the tops of the reservoirs.
When the active enclosure contains a powdery product,
The evacuation takes place by suspension or fluidized bed and pneumatic transport of the pulverulent through the pipe 112.
For this purpose, the battery of tanks comprises on each side a ramp 114, 114 'for supplying the carrier gas, for example compressed air, this ramp diversifies and branches out at each tank in an upper column 115, 115 'provided with a shut-off valve and a non-return valve, this column opening near the manhole forming the filling orifice; the column 115, 115 'blowing gas, for example pressurized air, at the top of the reservoir for pressurizing the product contained in the enclosure in question and causing its evacuation.
At the same time, the lower column 116, 116 'coming from the corresponding ramp 114, 114' also injects pressurized air at the base of the tank and within the enclosure to be evacuated, causing eddies in the tank. the mass of the pulverulent product and the suspension of the particles, the latter due to the pressure prevailing within the enclosure are evacuated through the pipe 112, 112 'leading to the evacuation manifold 117, 117' receiving the same products enclosures arranged on the same side on the three tanks.
According to fig. January 1 to 14 shows the evacuation device which equips the base of a frustoconical type tank.
This reservoir 200 is provided with an internal flexible membrane 202 arranged in a median plane and able to come to be pressed against one or the other face 203, 204 of the walls of the reservoir, thus separating the reservoir into two alternative capacities which are successively placed in active or inactive position.
The evacuation device consists of a sleeve 205 connected to the wall 203 of the reservoir and opening onto a solution of continuity 206 in said wall.
The sleeve 205 is welded to the edges of the wall of the reservoir at the level of the solution of continuity 206 so that the sleeve 205 constitutes a mouth projecting outwardly and communicating with the interior of the reservoir.
The end section of this sleeve is provided with a transverse ring 207 also attached by welding and constituting the bearing face of the edges 208 of the closure plate 209 which closes and recloses the end of the sleeve 205.
For this purpose, the crown 207 supports the articulation and locking elements allowing the securing of the closure plate 209; for example the crown supports by the tabs 210 a journal axis 211 on which is mounted a U-shaped catching member 212 integral with the edge 208 of the closure plate 209.
The latter has on its edges notches of known type 213, 213 ', 214, 214' allowing the passage of locking members such as rods articulated on the crown and provided with butterfly type screws coming to bear on the edges of the notches 213, 213 ', etc. (These conventional locking devices are not shown in detail in the figures).
The shutter plate is crossed by two pipes, that is to say the carrier gas inlet pipe 215 and the discharge pipe 216.
The carrier gas injected through line 215 arrives in the interior chamber 217 associated with the closure plate 209.
This chamber 217 is delimited by the side partitions 218 and the interior wall 219 which is associated with the closure plate 209.
The internal partition 218 follows the cylindrical periphery of the sleeve 205 so as to be disposed concentrically with the latter; however a part 218 ′ of this partition cuts the interior space of the sleeve according to a cord: the residual space between the partition 218 ′ following a cord and the wall of the sleeve 205 corresponds to the discharge pipe 223 which will be specified later. .
The chamber 217 therefore occupies the main part of the space overhanging towards the interior of the reservoir 200 the closure plate 209; at its upper part it is closed by the wall 219 which follows a plane substantially extending that of the wall 203 of the reservoir.
This wall 219, the details of which can be seen in FIGS. 13 and 14 comprises in the part which overhangs the chamber 217 a solid part provided, however, with regularly distributed perforations and of small section: these perforations are not shown in the figures given their small size; they allow the passage of the carrier gas arriving through the pipe 215 and passing through the chamber 217 towards the interior space of the tank.
To ensure a better distribution of this carrier gas, which is most often air blown under pressure, the face of the wall 219 facing the interior of the tank is associated with a canvas trapped by its edges by the seal 220 engaged. in a shoulder provided for this purpose in the thickness of the wall 219 and screwed onto the latter; the faces of the sheet 219 supporting the fabric are provided with rounded corners, in particular at 221, so that the upper fabric 222 in contact with the sheet does not risk being damaged by sharp angles.
Under these conditions, the carrier gas, in particular the pulsed air, penetrates from the chamber 217 towards the interior of the reservoir and it ensures, with a particularly regular distribution in time and in space, the placing of the powders in a fluidized bed.
These can be evacuated by channel 223; for this purpose the part of the wall 219 which does not overhang the chamber 217 is largely perforated, as can be seen in the plan view of FIG. 13, and it is limited to the circular edge 224 connected to the perforated zone supporting the fabric by the tabs 225, 225 '; the part situated on a slope with respect to the fluidization zone is therefore largely hollowed out and allows the evacuation of the fluidized powders through channel 223.
The latter is extended outwards through the pipes 224 provided with the valve 225 and connected to the external network.
To facilitate the evacuation of the pulverulent placed in a fluidized bed, a pulsed air injection nozzle is provided at the periphery of the fluidization zone; for example, one can provide a forced air inlet forming a flush and disposed at the upper part 226: one can also provide side flushes 227, 227 '.
It can be seen that the evacuation device therefore enables a versatile evacuation to be carried out.
Indeed, the opening formed by the sleeve 205 can be completely clear; for this purpose, the closure plate 209 can be brought into a vertical position and it can be easily removed, the articulated support 212 being released from the journal axis 211; in this case, the interior space of the reservoir is placed in communication directly by the sleeve 205 forming a mouth towards the outside.
For the evacuation of liquids, it suffices to use the channel 223 opening into the channel 224 through the valve 225, the mouth 228 being connected to the external network, which allows the liquids placed inside to be evacuated without difficulty. of the tank.
When the latter contains bulk powders, depending on their particle size, their hygrometry and their ability to fluidize, the fluidization device consisting of the air inlet 215 and the fluidization plate 219 provided with its web can be used.
As an accessory or alternatively, it is possible to use the air flushing device constituted by the injections of pulsed air arriving at the periphery through the pipes 226, 227, 227 '.
It is therefore possible, by a single device fitted to a reservoir, to assign the latter to the transport of bulk products of very diverse types without having to modify the discharge device.
The latter can be connected to a transport network or to a storage network to allow rapid handling of bulk products of a wide variety of types which are picked up from the tank and transported to their storage point or the evacuation network or 'use.
