Abstract

Novel, sparingly water-sol. disazo cpds. are of formula (I) (where R1-R3 are each H, halogen, NO2, CN, CF3 alkyl alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, phenoxycarbonyl, amino-carbonyl, alkylamino-carbonyl, dialkyl aminocarboyl or phenylaminocarbonyl; A is alkylene, cycloalkylene, phenylene or naphthylene gp. opt. interruptd by heteroatoms, or a gp. of formula (a) or (b): R4 being -S-, -CH2-, -NH-, -CO-, NHCO-, -NHCONh- or -SO2; the aromatic ring A may be substd. by Cl, Br, Me, MeO or ETO). Used as yellow pigments for coating compsns. plastics, e.g. polyethylene, polystyrene, PVC, rubber, etc. for spin drying viscose or cellulose acetate, printing inks and paper, having generally fast props.
