Abstract
1412924 Disazo pigments CIBA-GEIGY AG 13 March 1974 [16 March 1973] 11135/74 Heading C4P [Also in Division C2] New disazo pigments of formula (where R 1 is an optionally substituted aryl radical; R 2 is either a hydroxynaphthalene radical, optionally substituted in the naphthalene ring by halogen atoms or alkoxy, cyano or nitro groups, and in which the azo, hydroxy and -CO- groups are respectively in the 1-, 2- and 3-positions or denotes an acetonylidene radical; R 3 is a 9,10-anthrylene radical optionally substituted by halogen atoms or alkyl or alkoxy groups) are prepared by reacting the monoazo dyestuff acid halide of formula R 1 -N=N-R 2 -COhal, where hal is halogen, with a 9,10-diaminoanthracene compound. Alternatively the diazo or diazoamino compound from the aromatic amine of formula R 1 -NH 2 is coupled with the compound of formula H-R 2 -CONH-R 3 -NHCO-R 2 -H followed by an after-treatment with organic solvents. The pigments are used for colouring high molecular weight organic materials which may be in the form of plastic melt spinning solutions, lacquers, paints or printing inks.
