I'embrayage étant désengagé.
The present invention relates to a mechanical device for lowering the spool guide bar in a spinning machine with a movable spool guide bar.
The object of the present invention is to satisfy the need for a simplified, economical and safe, completely mechanical device for lowering the guide bar of the spools of a spinning machine to the position allowing the lifting of the spools at determined times. . Patents of recent years, published in this field, contain a number of teachings on the means for lowering a guide bar of the coils, but generally devices include electrical, hydraulic or electromagnetic control systems which have proved very useful. too expensive and which in some cases is not completely safe to operate.
Therefore, the object of the present invention is to improve the prior art relating to reel guide bar lowering devices by providing a purely mechanical apparatus which is substantially foolproof and which can operate fully automatically or semi-automatically. This device must, moreover, be easily adaptable to most of the spinning looms currently in use.
To this end, the device according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a mechanical clutch mounted on the head end of the spinning machine having input and output shafts and a component controlling the application and the disengagement of a rotary clutch having a protruding lug, a spinning loom gear connected to and driving the input shaft in direct proportion to the speed of the front roller of the spinning loom, a pulley carried by the spinning loom output of the clutch, a flexible element that can be wound on this pulley to lower the reel guide bar when the clutch is applied, this flexible element being connected by a support and oscillation means of the spool guiding of the spinning machine, a control actuating linkage on the spinning machine connected to the protruding lug of the clutch,
and spring biased in a direction in which the clutch is applied when the spring energy is released, a disengageable locking means for this linkage on the spinning machine to maintain the linkage and the protruding ear in a position of clutch disengagement, a linkage disengagement mechanism mounted on and movable with the reel guide bar, comprising a linkage release element which engages the linkage and disengages the locking means on the final stroke to the top. top of the reel guide bar, thereby allowing the spring loaded linkage to move the protruding lug to a clutch engagement position to lower the reel guide bar,
and an electrical switch means on the spinning machine actuated by triggering and disengaging the linkage to shut off the motor of the spinning machine so that the machine will slow to a stop while lowering the bar. guiding the coils.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of a device according to the invention.

With reference to the drawings in detail, in which the same references designate the same parts throughout the description, and with particular reference to FIG. 1, part of a spinning machine comprises a fixed horizontal spindle bar (20), supported at its opposite ends by the vertical ends of the machine. the head end (21) of the spinning machine being the only one shown in the drawings. A series of spools (22) are mounted on the spindle bar (20) to support the same number of spools (23) intended for winding the yarn (24) therein in accordance with conventional operation of the loom.
The usual vertically oscillating spool guide bar (25) guides the yarns on the spools (23) during gradual build-up thereof, and this spool guide bar is supported at several points along its length by rods (26). ) lifting devices can be moved vertically, fitted with a suitable guide link with the spindle bar (20). The spool guide bar (25) and the lifting rods (26) are urged upwards by the lifting arms (27) mounted on the rockers (28) and provided with extensions (29) carrying adjustable counterweights (30 ) or in some cases adjustable spring means for balancing.
The spool guide bar (25) oscillates vertically continuously during the making of the spools, thanks to a well-known garment mechanism (31) mounted on the spinning machine, as shown. The building mechanism continuously cooperates with the balanced spool guide bar support and the lifting means, described above, to impart to the bar the necessary up and down movement and gradual lift to build. the packing of the coils or for winding a packing on the coils.
In doing this, the making mechanism (31) alternately pulls and spins a flexible chain or cable (32), engaging a pulley (33) attached as shown. The flexible element (32) is attached at its far end to a curved sector (35) carried by a rocker (28), and a connecting rod (36) connects the sector (35) to a similar sector (35 ') on the next rocker (28) of the loom, from which it follows that all the sectors will be moved together by the building mechanism (31) and the counterweights (30) which cooperate with it. All of the above construction and its mode of operation are conventional and need not be described in more detail for the correct understanding of the present invention.
Always referring to fig. 1, the spinning machine further comprises a front rotary shaft (38) which rotates continuously when the machine is in operation and which carries at the head end of the machine a pinion (38 '), meshing with other pinions conventional (39), (40), (41), (42), the latter pinion (42) being coupled directly to a retraction shaft (43) of a mechanical clutch assembly to lower the guide bar of the coils , designated by the reference (44).
The clutch assembly (44), in fig. 4, has a housing (45) made up of two separable sections, and one end of this housing is fixed by bolts to the adjacent head end (21) of the spinning machine, as shown. Inside the housing (45) there is a mechanical clutch (46) of a type manufactured and sold by Formsprag Company, 23601 Hoover Rd., Warren,
Michigan, designated as follows: Type 4, Model N CA400. Such a clutch is shown and described in US Pat. No. 3,127,969 among others. The clutch (46) is in itself conventional and has a cam section (46 ') containing steel balls and non cam tracks. shown, to convert the rotational force into axial thrust displacement.
Multiple alternating discs (47) and (47 ') have lugs for engaging with and being driven by a clutch drive cup (48) and with the output shaft of the clutch assembly, which will be described. The drive cup (48) is integral with a drive head (49) connected by a pin at (50) to the clutch input shaft (43) driven by the pinion (42).
The clutch assembly further comprises at its other end an output shaft (51) provided on the outside of the clutch housing with a pulley (52) for lowering the guide bar of the coils, this pulley rotating with the shaft each time the clutch is applied. As shown, the output shaft (51) is keyed to and driven by the clutch discs (47 ') when the clutch is applied. The clutch (46) has radially projecting ears (53) and (54), the first of these ears being fixed to the housing (45) by a cylindrical pin (53 ') and the last ear (54) being connected by a link allowing pivoting at (55) to a return lever (56), which is pivotably connected at (57) to a rod (58) extending from the side of the spinning machine.
The rear end of the link (58) is in turn mounted so as to be able to pivot at (59) to an elbow lever (60), hinged at (61) on a fixed support bar (62) on the end head (21), projecting inwardly thereof. The angled lever (60) has a handle (63) as shown.
A relatively stiff torsion spring (64) is anchored at one end (65) to the lever arm (60) while the other end (66) of the spring is anchored to a fixed collar (67) on the fixed barrel (62), the turns of the spring (64) surrounding this barrel with an appropriate clearance. The torsion spring (64) stores sufficient energy which, when released, automatically causes the mechanical clutch (46) to be applied as will be described below.
A chain (68) passes over the pulley (52) and is fixed there (fig. 1), passes over a return pulley (69) and goes to a sector (71) on the rocker (28) and is there attached in an adjustable manner at (72). Similar sectors (71 ') are supported by other rockers (28) of the loom and are connected to extension chains (73) of the device, all of which are controlled by the pulley (52) actuated by the clutch.
The chain (68) is kept taut during normal operation of the building mechanism and the reel guide bar by any conventional means. For example, the spool guide bar lowering pulley (52) may include in combination for this purpose a torsion coil spring such as the spring (68) shown in U.S. Patent No. 3124925. An equivalent conventional arrangement is shown with the torsion spring (81) for the pulley (78) in U.S. Patent No. 3357167.
If preferred, instead of a torsion spring connected to the pulley (52), a retractable coil spring similar to a swing door return spring can be used with one end attached to the fixed base bar of the door. spinning machine and the other end attached to the chain which is itself attached to the pulley (52). Each of these arrangements is satisfactory and they are well known in the art. For simplicity, the accompanying drawings do not represent any specific embodiment of the spring means used for this purpose. The torsion spring, if used, is substantially housed in the hub portion of the pulley (52) as shown in the prior patents and need not be shown here.
The present device also comprises a trigger or disengagement mechanism mounted and moving with the guide bar of the coils (25) and generally indicated by the reference (74). This disengagement mechanism consists of a support plate (75) fixed in an adjustable manner to the guide bar of the reels, this plate being provided with slots (77) for the passage of bolts (78) (fig. 2). The mechanism (74) further includes a housing (79) adjustably attached to the support plate (75) by screws (80), the housing serving to support a clutch release member or arm (81) articulated in (82) near its lower part between a pair of ears (83) of the housing (79). The trigger element (81) can be tilted from the vertical position shown in solid lines in FIG. 2 in the inclined or active position shown in broken lines.
It is biased towards the active position by a compression spring (84) carried by the housing (79).
A release finger (85) is pivotably mounted at its rear end at (86) on the housing (79) and extends through a slot (87) in the trigger member (81), sufficient size to allow the release finger a limited vertical movement around its pivot (86) between the position in solid lines and the position in broken lines shown in FIG. 2. The release finger has a locking shoulder (88) on its upper side, cooperating with the trigger element (81) to lock this element in a vertical position. The release finger (85) is biased towards the horizontal locking position in solid lines by another spring (89) in the housing (79), this spring bearing on the other side on an adjustment screw (90) to adjust its tension.
A lower limit switch actuator (91) is rigidly attached at (92) to the bottom of the trigger member (81) and extends from there at a right angle and is movable with this member around the pivot (82) between the position in solid lines and the position in broken lines shown in FIG. 2. The control (91) is also used automatically to replace or return the mechanism (74) to its original position in solid lines when the reel guide bar is at the lower position allowing the reels to be lifted as will be done. describe below. Movement of the trigger element (81) to the broken line position or inclined position is limited by a stopper (93) in the form of a roll pin on the release finger (85).
The top surface (94) of the trigger element (81) is horizontal when the trigger element is in the active tilted position, shown in dashed lines.
In such an active position, the trigger element (81) is arranged directly under a clutch control rod (95) which has a horizontal part (fig. 3a) and an extension (96) the shape of which can vary. according to the needs of different machines or installations. The control rod has a lower threaded extension (97), adjustably attached at (98) to the return lever (56) which directly controls the application and disengagement of the clutch (44). The rod (95) has a locking notch (99) on its underside, capable of engagement with a fixed locking bracket (100) attached to the roller support beam (101) of the spinning machine.
The console (100) has a square detent shoulder (102) which bears on one end of the notch (99) to fix the control rod (95) in the normal position in a locked condition to maintain the clutch ( 44) disengaged or inactive. The rod (95) is normally held down by a plunger (95 ') and a spring (96') adjustably held by a screw (97 '). The rod (95) is raised at certain times by the active trigger element (81), enough to disengage the notch (99) from the shoulder (102) so that the energy of the torsion spring (64) is released to engage the clutch (44).
Placed immediately in the vicinity of the console (100), there is an upper switch (103) which is kept normally closed by contact with the rod (95) (fig. 3 a), when the latter is in the locked position and the clutch (44) clear.
When the switch (103) is closed, the circuit through the spinner motor is complete and the spinner motor is running. A lower switch (104) provided with a control roller (105) in the path of the element (91) is used in installations where the apparatus is fully automatic. The lower switch is vertically adjustable on the spinning machine so as to allow a final stop of the machine after the windings of yarn have been applied to the bottom of the spools or to the spindles, under the spools in some cases. In other installations, the lower switch (104) can be completely omitted, in which case the upper switch (103) alone controls the stopping of the motor of the spinning machine, following the lifting of the rod (95) by the element. trigger (81).
When the two switches are used together, they are wired in such a way that the motor of the spinning machine continues to run after the switch (103) is opened and only stops if the lower switch (104) is opened by the switch. contact of the element (91), the switch (104) being a normally closed switch.
The operating cycle of the device can be briefly summarized as follows. The trigger mechanism (74) is positioned and locked in the condition shown in solid lines in FIG. 2, during the entire travel of the reel guide bar for making reels after the reel guide bar has been released from the position for lifting the reels. As the spool guide bar (25) approaches its penultimate position, adjacent to the tops of the spools (24), the release finger (85) will contact the underside of the control rod (95). ) of the clutch and the further upward movement of the reel guide bar will push the finger (85) through the rod (95) to the position shown in dotted lines in the figure.
This movement of the finger (85) releases the trigger element (81) from its inactive position, and the force of the spring (84) moves the element (81) and the finger (85) to the dotted positions and maintains the trigger mechanism (74) in this position or inactive position.
In the final upward stroke of the reel guide bar, the top of the trigger (81) is placed directly under the rod (95), engages with and lifts the rod enough to release the rod (95). shoulder (102) locking notch (99). When disengaging the rod (95) by action of the trigger element (81), two functions occur substantially simultaneously.
The switch (103) opens the spinning machine motor circuit (in the case where only an upper switch is employed) and the spinning machine now begins to slow down to stop. The energy of the torsion spring (64) is now released and through the return lever (60), the rod (58) and the return lever (56),
The clutch lug (54) is pulled out and pivots by the action of the
linkage to the engaged position, as shown in fig. 3 b.
As soon as the clutch is applied, the pulley (52) begins to wind the chain (68) to lower the bar.
guiding the reels (25) automatically in the low position or
lifting position of the coils, in which the guide bar
of the coils is locked and held for the operation of
lifting of the coils before being released for a new cycle of
making coils by the loom.
In the normal or preferred embodiment in which
two switches (103) and (104) are used to make
the device fully automatic when the guide bar of the
coils (25) approaching the lifting position of the coils,
The element (91) will strike the roller (105) controlling the commu
and open the switch (104) to stop the engine of the
spinning loom. When two switches are used,
Opening only the upper switch (103) will not cut the
motor of the spinning machine and the opening of the two switches is
necessary to achieve this result.
Simultaneously with opening
of the lower switch (104), the element (91) is returned by the
roller (105) in the horizontal position in solid lines in fig. 2,
thereby resetting or returning the trigger mechanism (74) to
the inactive position shown in solid lines, keeping it ready
for the next spool making cycle of the spinning machine. The
lower switch (104) is vertically adjustable so that the windings of wire on the spool bottom or on the pins below the spools can be controlled as desired.
When the apparatus for lowering the reel guide bar is employed manually, the trigger mechanism (74) and the lower switch (104) are omitted, together with all the components shown in fig. 3 a which are to the left of the return lever (56). For judged lifting,
The worker uses the handle (63) to cock the lever (60) when the stop button on the spinner is pressed. The mechanical clutch is engaged and the spool guide bar is lowered by the inertia of the loom in direct proportion to the energy of the shaft (38) and locks in the spool lift position.
The bar is later released from this lifting position by tilting the cocking lever (60). In effect, therefore, when the machine is manually driven, the operator simply employs the handle or lever (63) to apply or disengage the mechanical clutch at the desired times. The torsion spring (64) associated with the clutch actuating linkage is also suppressed in the manual mode of operation.
It will also be noted that the clutch (44) is an automatic sliding or overrunning clutch which is made to slip under a torque of determined value. This prevents tearing of teeth or other damage to the clutch or adjacent components as sometimes occurs with competitive systems of the prior art. With the clutch of the present device, it is really not necessary to provide a locking means to keep the guide bar of the coils down in the lifting position of the coils since the clutch itself performs this function. In known devices, if the mechanism does not work correctly,
Pulling out teeth or similar damage occurs frequently.
On the other hand, if the system is functioning properly, there will be a need for locks to hold the reel guide bar in the down position.
The present invention provides a simple and safe mechanical device for lowering the reel guide bar, fully automatically or semi-automatically. The device is adaptable to most conventional trades. The use of hydraulic devices and electric or electromagnetic clutches with their inherent problems is completely avoided.
