Abstract

The vehicle bumper consists of a strong metal supporting bar (2) mounted on connected rods (3) extending rearwards, and attached to a hollow rubber buffer member (1) with a semicircular forward surface (7) enclosing a hollow chamber (10), into which air may be fed under pressure through a connecting tube (11). The buffer member has thick regions (8, 9) top and bottom which are grooved to receive the edges of the support bar. Securing screws may pass through the outer lips of the grooved portion, to screw into threaded holes in the bar. The system may be adapted to the periphery of a light boat.
