Abstract

A bobbin winding arrangement uses a plain bobbin (6) supported by a pair of adaptor sleeves (10, 13) on a spindle (1) supported on a fixed support (2) one end and a movable support the end, with a fixed flange (4) at the fixed end, and a flange (5) mounted on the movable support. The movable support includes a conical boss (11) which fits into the open end of the bobbin and also fits over the end of the spindle, and which is carried on a swinging arm (21) to permit the bobbin to be released. This boss (11) has a sleeved rear part (111) so that it can rotate in ball bearings (20) in the rounded end (20) of the swinging arm. The boss has a conical interior to lock onto the sloping end of the spindle. The swinging arm has a locking handle (42) attached to a connecting rod (34) with a tapered nose (36) carrying screw threads to engage a hole tapped inside the spindle. This rod carries a sphere (35) to slide in a slot inside the bush. The adaptor sleeve (10) at the movable support end carries a spring loaded plunger to engage a blind hole in the boss (11) and lock the two together.
