La fig. I est une vue de face de l'indicateur digital;

The present invention relates to a digital indicator, having a window and means for showing a figure or an indicator number within this window.
Indicators of this type are already known, having discs which can be rotated relative to one another. These discs have numbers that can be shown in an opening of the indicator. These known objects have, unfortunately, certain disadvantages. On the one hand, given the chosen arrangement of the figures on the discs, it is not possible to provide said discs with a large number of figures, for lack of available space. On the other hand, the indication appearing in the window is not always easily readable, so the window must have a certain size to allow the appearance of the desired digits, which can lead to confusion on reading.
The present invention seeks to remedy these drawbacks and to create a digital indicator, simple in construction, and not having the drawbacks of known objects of this type.
For this, the digital indicator, having a window and means for showing a figure or an indicator number inside this window, is characterized according to the invention in that the window is provided in a fixed disk, under which are placed coaxially two rotating discs, the first comprising on its periphery teeth bearing a series of numbers, while the second has a second series of numbers, placed so that a selected number of the second rotating disc can appear through a space between two teeth of the first rotating disc with a number placed on one of the teeth of this first disc in said window.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is described below with the aid of the drawing.
Fig. I is a front view of the digital indicator;
fig. 2 shows one of the indicator's two rotating discs, and
fig. 3 shows the other of the rotating discs.
The indicator described below and shown in the drawing is intended to be applied as an indicator for the next oil change of a vehicle.
The indicator has a fixed disc 10 with a window 11, in which one or two digits can appear, located on rotating discs 12 and 13, placed below said fixed disc 10. In the example chosen, the fixed disc 10 contains, next to the window, an indication 14 relating to a fixed number of kilometers. In addition, this disc may contain other indications referring to the special use of the indicator.
Under the fixed disc 10 is placed a first rotating disc 12 (see fig. 2), the periphery of which has ten rectangular teeth 16.
The faces of these ten teeth 16, oriented in the direction of the fixed disc 10, each bear a number ranging from 0 to 9. These figures are intended to appear in the window 1 1 of the fixed disc. Between each tooth 16 is formed an opening 17, revealing a number of the second rotating disc 13, as will be described below. To rotate this first disc 12 relative to the fixed disc 10, a tab 18 is provided around the periphery of the disc and radially protrudes from the periphery of this disc.
A second rotating disc 13 is placed under the first rotating disc 12 and has figures 19 on its periphery, ranging from 0 to 9. These figures 19 are placed on a shelf such that they can appear. through a space 17 between two teeth 16 of the first rotating disc 12, in the window 11 of the fixed disc 10.
To rotate this second disc 13, the latter also has a tongue 20, radially projecting from the periphery of said disc.
A rivet 21, passing through the openings 22 and 23, made in the discs 12 and 13, connects the different discs 10, 12 and 13 so that the two discs 12 and 13 can rotate relative to one another. other and both with respect to the fixed disk.
To show a desired indication in the window 11 of the fixed disc 10, for example the number of kilometers where the next oil change will have to take place, the two rotating discs will be turned in such positions that the desired number or number will appear in said window. . In the example cited, this number can range from 1 to 99. Using the additional indication 14.
located on the fixed disk 10, we can then read the number of kilometers ranging from 1000 to 99000.
The different discs can be made of cardboard or plastic. Also it would be possible, to improve readability, to use discs of different colors.
Of course, the indicator according to the invention can also be used in other fields, for example as a digital meter for industry or for an indication of a fact or an event, or for the control of a. situation.
