Abstract

Between a lower central coarse separator and an upper peripheral fine separator stage, is an annular chamber open at the bottom and closed at the top. The wet gas, esp. steam, passes through the coarse separator and strikes a toroidal deflector plate from which it passes into a central closed top channel and thence radially between pairs of fine separator plate sub assemblies in the form of a sharp pointed star through which the steam passes leaving fine droplets in the plates. High rate of steam drying with min. press. drop is achieved.
