Fig. 1 eine schematische Darstellung einer ersten Ausführungsform,
Fig. 2 eine schematische Darstellung einer zweiten Ausführungsform,
Method and device for the controlled pouring of a mold with liquid metal
The invention relates to a method and device for the controlled pouring of a mold with liquid metal, the amount of metal required being predetermined.
It is known to cast molds, in particular foundry molds, in such a way that the required amount of metal is determined by weighing in a special vessel before casting. Furthermore, it is known to remove liquid metal from a vessel by determining the weight loss during pouring and to feed it to a mold.
The above-mentioned methods have the disadvantage that the liquid metal must first be poured into the weighing container and then from the weighing container into the mold. This double pouring leads not only to increased slag formation and the associated clogging of the discharge spout, but also to a temperature loss of the liquid metal.
The invention is based on the object of eliminating the aforementioned disadvantages. According to the invention, the object is achieved in that first the weight of the mold including the parts interacting with the mold is weighed before the start of pouring and that the subsequent pouring of the mold is ended after reaching a further predetermined metal weight exceeding the first weight.
The invention also comprises a device for carrying out the method, which differs from known devices in that a liquid metal-containing container with a machine-operated emptying device is brought into operative connection by a program control with a weighing device and the program control has a sequential circuit with which one of the Containers adjacent casting mold with associated parts weighed in a first step in the empty delivery state and then in a second step the emptying device of the container is put into operation for the purpose of pouring the mold and after reaching the metal weight entered into the program control, the metal inflow for the respective mold Shape is interrupted.
The subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawings, for example. It shows:
1 shows a schematic representation of a first embodiment,
2 shows a schematic representation of a second embodiment,
Fig. 3 is a plan view of the parts shown in Fig. 2 under the line III-III, and
FIG. 4 shows a schematic representation of the shape, seen in the direction of arrow IV in FIG.
In FIG. 1, 1 denotes a weighing device which is supported on a carrier 2. A support bracket 3, which is supported on the weighing device 1, carries a runway section 4. A mold 5, which is ready for pouring at the position shown, is filled with liquid metal 8 from a container 6 via the nozzle 7. By immersing a displacement body 9, the inflow of liquid metal 8 into the mold 5 can be controlled. The lifting and lowering movement of the displacement body 9 takes place by means of a drive 10 which acts on a toothed rack 11 connected to the displacement body 9. A program control 12 of known design is brought into operative connection with the weighing device 1, which in turn actuates the drive 10 in a sequential circuit.
The program control 12 works as follows: In a first step, the mold 5, which is ready to be poured, is pushed onto the runway section 4 and weighed together with the parts 3 and 4 by the weighing device 1, for example a pressure cell. The weighing result is recorded in a known manner by the program control 12. In a second step, the drive 10 is put into operation and the displacement body 9 is thereby moved downwards. The speed of the immersion movement of the displacement body 9 determines the amount of liquid metal entering the mold 5 per unit of time.
The weighing device 1 now also measures the weight of the amount of liquid metal introduced into the mold. The weighing result is also forwarded to the program control.
If the further weighing reaches the metal weight entered into the program control that is required for pouring the respective mold, the program control reverses the direction of rotation of the drive 10 and thus immediately pulls up the displacement body 9. The mold after the command to terminate the pouring process has been issued The amount of liquid metal still flowing in becomes smaller, the faster the displacement body 9 is lifted upwards. The smaller the amount of liquid metal still running in after the command has been issued, the more accurate the amount of metal poured into the mold.
In FIGS. 2, 3 and 4, 21 shows a weighing device with a pressure cell, and 22 shows a further weighing device with two pressure cells. The arrangement of these three pressure cells in three-point position is chosen so that the pressure cell 21 is in the center of gravity of the mold cavities 23 of one mold half and the two pressure cells 22 are in the plan of the centers of gravity of the mold cavities 24 of the other mold half. The runway section 25, on which a mold 26 that is ready to be poured, rests on the pressure cells 21 and 22.
Passages 27, 28, 29 and 30 can also be supported on the runway section 25. With 31 and 32 chutes are referred to on the top of the mold. 4 it can be seen that the pouring channel 31 leads to the mold cavity 23 and the pouring channel 32 to the mold cavity 24. A plug container 33 of known design has four plugs disposed over passages 27, 28, 29 and 30. The plugs 34 and 35 can be seen in FIG. Two further plugs, which are assigned to the passages 29 and 30, are not shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. Each of the aforementioned stoppers has a mechanical actuation which consists of a pivot point 38, 39, a double lever 40, 41 and a cylinder 42, 43.
44 and 45 designate two program controls, the program control 44 being assigned to the stoppers 34 and 35, but optionally also being able to control all four stoppers of the container 33. The program control 45 is connected to the pressure measurement cells 22 and controls only the stoppers assigned to the passages 29 and 30.
The following applications are possible with the embodiment of FIGS. 2 to 4: Application a)
In a first step, the program controller 44 controls the movement of a mold 26 that is ready to be poured onto the runway section 25. In this case, the runway section 25, the mold 26 and the parts 27 to 30 are weighed by the weighing devices 21, 22, for example in the form of pressure cells. In this application, the weighing result of the pressure measuring cell 22 is fed via the connecting line 46 and the weighing result of the pressure measuring cell 21 is fed to the program control 44 via the connecting line 48.
The connection 47 to the program control 45 is interrupted in this case. In a second step, pouring is initiated by actuating all plugs. The size of the passage openings of the stopper determines the amount of liquid metal exiting from the stopper container 33 per unit of time. The weighing devices 21 and 22 now also measure the weight of the metal flowing into the mold 26. If the excess weight determined by measurement (weighing) during the first step reaches the metal weight entered into the program control 44 and required for the respective shape, the program control 44 effects the immediate closure of all stoppers and thus ends the casting process.
Application b)
Application b) differs from application a) in that the inflow via the plug 34 resp.
the passage 27 as well as the stopper assigned to the passage 29 is closed after a part of the predetermined weight of liquid metal has been reached.
The inflow via the stopper 35 or passage 28 and via the stopper assigned to the flow passage 30 is closed after the entire metal weight required for filling the mold has been reached. The same program control for application b) can also be designed in such a way that the inflow via the stoppers assigned to runs 27 and 29 is closed after an adjustable time has elapsed, while the inflow via the stoppers assigned to runs 28 and 30 is closed only after the entire predetermined amount has been reached Metal weight is finished.
Application c)
Application c) differs from application a) in that two separate cavities 23 and 24 (FIG. 4) of the mold 26 are poured off simultaneously and controlled independently of one another. For this purpose both program controls 44 and 45 are put into operation.
The pressure measuring cell 21 controls the program control 44 via the connecting line 48. The pressure measuring cells 22 are connected to the program control 45 via the connecting lines 46 and 47. In FIG. 4, the pressure cell 21 lies in the plan below the center of gravity of the amount of liquid metal filling the cavity 23, while the center of gravity of the liquid metal in the cavity 24 lies on a straight line between the two pressure cells 22.
This arrangement ensures that the pressure measuring cell 21 only determines the metal weight assigned to the cavity 23. At the same time, the two pressure measurement cells 22 only determine the metal weight assigned to the cavity 24.
In exceptional cases, in which the center of gravity of the liquid metal quantities in the cavities 23 or 24 shifts in relation to the pressure measuring cells 21 or 22, a corresponding correction of the program control 44 or 45 corrects the resulting error.
Application d)
Application d) relates to an extension of the program control of application c) in such a way that one of the stoppers belonging to the passages, which are assigned to the two separate cavities 23 and 24, is independent of one another after a part of the predetermined metal weight has been reached or after an adjustable Time to be closed. The two other stoppers are closed independently of one another only after the respective total predetermined weight of the two cavities 23 and 24 has been reached.
Instead of the containers shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 with a displacement body or with a stopper closure, a mechanically tiltable vessel can also be used for feeding the liquid metal to the mold.
The passages 27 to 30, shown for example in FIGS. 2 and 3, which have jet deflection means, have the advantage that the jet of liquid metal entering the mold is greatly calmed. This enables large quantities of liquid metal to be introduced into the mold per unit of time without causing interference from splashes or turbulence. The relationship between these runs and the present invention is given by the fact that the weight of the runs and the amount of liquid metal present in them when pouring is also weighed with the mold and included in the program control.
The method according to the invention has the advantage that the amount of liquid metal that can be cast can be increased significantly per unit of time.
The invention also allows the amount of liquid metal to be determined to a previously unknown accuracy that does not change during operation.
The use of two different feeds for the liquid metal when pouring a mold enables a pouring basin or an upper course to be filled quickly, in order to then ensure that the pouring basin or upper course is kept full until the end of the pouring by shutting off one feed.
Furthermore, the method according to the invention enables a mold to be separated into two cavities, which can be cast simultaneously and independently of one another. This advantage is particularly effective for large-area forms. The three-point mounting 21, 22 shown also enables a three-part mold to be cast independently. In practice, however, this is rarely used.
By arranging one or more passages upstream of the mold, which have jet deflection means, the entry speed of the liquid metal into the mold can be significantly reduced. The calmed pouring caused by this makes it possible in practice to significantly increase the poured quantity per unit of time.
