Natriumalginat, Hydroxyäthylamylose, Polyvinylalkohol u.a. hergestellt.
Yarn connection In the production of textiles, it is often necessary to connect the ends of different yarns to be processed.
If, for example, a break occurs in the processed yarn, or a supply bobbin is used up and the next bobbin is to be added to the yarn of the first, the two yarns must be connected to maintain continuity. Often the operation has to be interrupted to produce the yarn connection, which is why one presses on a quick production with the lowest possible delay.
So far, yarns have been verbun by tying a knot at the free ends of the yarns to be connected, the knot being tied either by hand or using a mechanical device developed for this purpose. In the manufacture of yarns and textiles, however, there are often cases where a knot is not desired. A knot is thick compared to the diameter of the yarn and so makes the yarn vulnerable because of its thickness and lack of good flexibility that it can be caught and / or torn off if it passes through narrow openings such as e.g. normal comb widths when weaving. In addition, knots in the finished cloth can be highly undesirable as they represent defects on the cloth surface.
A yarn end connection is also known in which adhesive compounds are used with which the overlapping free yarn ends are rotated between the fingers moistened with the compound. This type of connection has its disadvantages, since on the one hand the mass is very sticky in use and on the other hand there is a delay because of the waiting time for the mass to dry. In addition, the drying often creates an undesirable, hard thread connection which prevents this part of the thread from wrinkling in soft turns around other threads during and / or after weaving. The hard, dried mass often remains in small ears, comb teeth and the like. Like. Hang and causes a yarn breakage.
A third type of thread connection uses a winding thread or a thread to wrap the ends of the thread together. However, this type of yarn connection is very complex, so that its applicability is limited. In addition, it has the disadvantage that the yarns to be connected lose their twist in the connection. This loss of twist of the yarns in the vicinity of the connection is very undesirable because a defect arises in the woven end product or in the fabric.
The subject of the invention is a thread connection which is characterized in that the thread ends are arranged in an overlapping manner and a lap is twisted helically around the thread ends, and the thread connection shows no free thread ends.
In the following, exemplary embodiments of the connection according to the invention are described in more detail with reference to the drawings. 1 shows a perspective illustration of an apparatus to be worn around the waist of an operator when inserting the yarns to be connected, FIG. 2 shows a perspective illustration of a portable device when the yarn ends are engaged with the fingers of both hands and the winding thread with the Fin like one hand to produce a yarn connection according to the invention, FIG. 3 shows a connection produced on the portable device before the tips of the yarn ends and the winding thread are cut off, FIG.
4 is a view of a finished connection, FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a portable device with the console and strap removed, partially cut to show an embodiment with its own power source for rotating the drum, FIG. 6 is a view similar to FIG. 5 in the execution a yarn end connection, Fig. 7 is a perspective view of the portable device of Figs. 5 and 6 from the opposite side, Fig. 8 is a partial section through the drum of the portable device and Fig. 9 is a perspective view of the drum,
partly in section when executing a connection. The portable device for connecting, which is designated as a whole by 10 (FIGS. 1 and 2) consists of a fabric belt 12 placed around the operator's waist with a widening reinforcement leather 14. A base plate 16 is provided with rivets 18 on the reinforcement 14 and attached to the belt 12, a bracket 20 firmly connected to the plate 16 with rivets 22 protrudes from the base plate and carries a housing 24 of the device 10 at its outer end.
The housing 24 (FIGS. 5 and 7) consists of three parts 26, 28 and 30 made of plastic, the parts 26 and 30 having side walls and part 28 having an anchored U-shape to form a cavity 32 of the housing.
In the cavity 32 of the housing 24 there is a battery 36 and an electric motor 38 which has a drive shaft 40 with a toothed wheel 42 attached to its outer end. The gear 42 meshes with a Ke gelrad 44 which is mounted on a shaft 46 rotatably mounted in the side part 26 bar. A rubber friction wheel 48 is also arranged on the shaft 46 and projects onto the housing 24.
A drum 50 with a peripheral surface 52 is rotatably mounted in the intermediate part 28 and is provided with an axially extending hub 54 and with a flange 56 (FIGS. 7 and 8). The hub 54 is supported between the upper ends of the legs of the inverted U-shaped member 28.
A line 60 (FIG. 5) connects the battery 36 and the electric motor 38. In the line 60 is a micro switch 62 housed in the upper part of the side wall 30, which is easily accessible for the operator when making a connection with the hands .
The drum 50 has a radial slot 64 that also passes through the hub 54 and flange 56. An axially extending flared passage 66 is provided in the drum 50 which communicates with the slot 64.
The drum 50 (FIGS. 8 and 9) has a cavity 70 in the vicinity of its periphery. A spool 72 with a supply of winding thread 74 is rotatably mounted in the cavity 70 on an axis that is parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum 50 and its passage 66 but is radially offset. In order to achieve an adjustable tension of the winding thread 74 on the bobbin 72, a Fe of the 76 between the bobbin 72 and the bottom of the hollow space 70 is arranged. A screw 78 which extends through the coil and can be screwed into the drum supports the coil against this spring. The more the screw 78 is screwed into the drum 50, the more friction is exerted on the spool 72 and inhibits its rotation.
A passage 80 is arranged in the drum 50, which opens at 82 in the cavity 70 and at 84 on the senseite of the drum. The mouth 84 (FIGS. 8 and 9) is very close, but slightly offset from the drum axis, so that the winding thread 74 emerging from the opening circles around the yarn ends to be connected as soon as the drum rotates. This tangential exit of the winding yarn 74 around the yarn ends, in conjunction with the braking of the spool 72, results in a high torque that is exerted on the connection, even if the winding thread is not particularly strong.
The winding thread is made of a water-soluble material, e.g. Sodium alginate, hydroxyethyl amylose, polyvinyl alcohol, etc. manufactured. By making the winding thread from a water-soluble material, the connection at the yarn ends is broken when the woven cloth undergoes a wet finish. In other words, the winding thread can easily be removed from the connection during a subsequent wet treatment of the material woven with this thread, e.g. removed during a desizing treatment or the like.
The operation of the portable device 10 can best be explained with reference to FIGS. The operator takes one end of the yarn E between the thumb and forefinger of her right hand and the other end of the yarn E 'between the thumb and forefinger of her left hand. The ends E and E 'who put the parallel from opposite directions besides one another (Fig. 2) and at the same moment the operator grabs the end of the thread protruding from the opening 84 with the thumb and the index finger of their right hand.
He then guides the two ends E and E 'downwardly into the slot 64 until the ends E and E' are in the passage 66 going through the drum 50. Since the switch 72 for starting the drum 50 is located very near the Dau mens and the index finger of the left hand, the operator can press this and cause the drum to rotate, for example in the direction of arrow A (Fig. 5 and 6). Since the ends E and E 'lie in the passage 66 which is coaxial with the axis of rotation of the drum 50, they do not twist with one another and thus the number of twists in the yarns is not changed, ie , neither diminished nor enlarged.
When the winding thread is pressed tightly against the yarn ends E and E 'and when it is rotated in the direction of arrow A, the mouth 84 of the passage 80 for the winding thread circles around the yarn ends E and E' and delivers winding thread from the bobbin. If the operator moves the yarn ends E and E 'simultaneously in the direction of arrow B (FIGS. 5 and 6), the winding thread is wound helically around the two ends E and E' to be connected to form the connection S. Since the winding thread 74 comes out of the mouth 84 in the immediate vicinity of the axially arranged ends E and E ', a large torque is generated by the winding thread 74.
As already mentioned, this torque can be adjusted by adjusting the resistance on the supply spool 72 of the winding thread 74. The torque exerted by the winding thread 74 is large enough to embed the winding thread in bulky yarns and to press the two ends of the thread together to a diameter corresponding to the individual thread in connection S. Due to the length of the movement of the yarn ends in direction B, the operator can influence the length of the connection. The strength of the connection can be increased by moving the yarn ends back and forth in the slot along the drum axis while the drum is rotating.
In FIG. 3, a finished connection S is shown immediately after the yarns have been removed from the drum and the winding thread 74 has been severed. The ends E and E 'have points T and T', just as the winding thread has such a point. The Garnspit zen and the winding thread tip must be cut off so that a finished connection S according to FIG. 4 is produced.
The described device for connecting yarns in textile factories eliminates the age-old knot plucking, since no tissue deformation occurs through the knot or its ends and the winding thread is not required when the yarn is arranged close to the fabric, so it is used in the subsequent treatment steps can be dissolved in water because of its solubility. Plucking, which removes the imperfections in a piece of fabric, represents a significant annual expense for a textile company. If a knot is not plucked, the cloth clipper will often cut a hole in the cloth. The present device, which uses a water-soluble twisted thread, can completely dispense with knot-plucking.
The bobbins for the supply of winding thread contain enough winding thread to be able to make around 800 connections on some yarns.
The device for connecting yarns and the connection made with it can also be used in other ways. Thus, the device can be arranged directly on the winding device of the spinning machine or brought into its position by means of a conveyor device, where it can perform its function. E.g. a non-soluble winding thread is preferred in knitted goods, while a soluble thread is desired in the case of woven goods where the fabric can bind the connected ends. For this purpose, the winding thread can consist of various materials, be it made of spun yarn or in film, multifilament or monofilament form. As already mentioned, the wrapping material can only be water-soluble in solvents, such as e.g. Be vinyl acetate. But it can also be relatively inert, e.g.
Glass, which is required for certain aerospace applications. Other power sources can also be used for this, such as air motors.
