Weft insertion device on shuttleless weaving machines The subject of the claim of the main patent is a weft insertion device on shuttleless weaving machines with stationary supply bobbins for the weft thread and with an oscillatingly moving gripper rod pair that engages almost equally into the shed from both sides, with the weft thread in the advanced position of the gripper rods is transferred as a single thread from a gripper head arranged at the tip of the gripper bar to the corresponding gripper head of the other gripper bar, and the gripper heads are equipped with clamping levers for the weft thread, which are coupled to the main drive of the loom to grasp or release the weft thread Control levers are inevitably operable from the outside.
In the embodiment of the device described in the main patent, said clamping levers are designed as two-armed levers, on one arm of which the control levers rest. For this purpose, the control levers reach from the outside through the warp threads of the shed. When actuated, the clamping lever moves parallel to the wall of the hook rod head. The clamping part itself is prismatic in shape and therefore forms a kind of cutting edge which, in the rest position, applies to a counterpart in the form of a prism bed. This prism bed is arranged in a side plate on the gripper head wall. This prismatic design gives a good clamping effect, but the thread is kinked at this point, which can be disadvantageous in some cases with sensitiv weft threads.
There is also an elastic surface under the prismatic cutting edge of the clamping part instead of the prism bed, e.g. a piece of plastic, arranged. Although this brings an improvement, this solution is not yet fully satisfactory for other reasons. Since the weft thread is practically always clamped at the same point by the clamping lever (this is also supposed to be the purpose of the clamping lever arrangement), the plastic covering is relatively soon damaged at the stressed point. There are grooves here where the clamping effect deteriorates and an exact gripping and releasing of the weft thread is no longer guaranteed.
You have to replace the elastic plastic covering after a relatively short time and remove the entire side plate on the gripper head for this purpose.
The invention was based on the endeavor to create a weft thread insertion device on shuttleless weaving machines with an improved clamping device which does not have the disadvantages mentioned above.
The weft thread insertion device according to the invention is characterized in that a plate designed as a counter piece for the clamping lever and mounted on the side of the gripper head is at least partially stepped at the edge and that in the gap formed between the gripper head wall and the plate by the gradation a stepped part of the Ring made of elastic material surrounding the plate as a counter bearing for the clamping lever moved in the gap.
An embodiment of the invention will be explained next starting with reference to the drawing. 1 shows a side view of a gripper head with a clamping device in the closed position, FIG. 2 shows a side view of the same gripper head with the clamping device in the open position, FIG. 3 shows a cross section through the clamping device along the line AB in FIG. 4 and 5 show two different side views of the clamping plate of the clamping device of FIGS. 1-3.
In Figures 1 and 2, the arrangement of the clamping device on the gripper head 1 is shown. The gripper head has at its foremost end a tip 2 which is designed to be hook-shaped towards the rear. This point is designated with 2 '. The clamping lever itself has two arms and is mounted so that it can pivot about an axis of rotation 5. The arm 3 of the clamping lever facing the gripper tip forms the actual clamping part, while the rearward-facing arm 4 serves as a support for the control lever, not shown here.
Below the lever arm 4, a leaf spring 10 is also indicated, which returns the clamping lever to its clamping position when the control levers have lifted off the arm 4. A clamping plate 6 is attached to the side wall of the gripper head 1 in the vicinity of the tip 2. This plate can be removably arranged, e.g. by means of screws S. This clamping plate 6 is stepped on part of its edge and also has an upward projection 7. In this way, a gap is formed between tween the projection or the protruding edge of the clamping plate and the wall of the gripper head in which the clamping part 3 of the Klemmvor direction moves.
As will be explained in more detail below, around the stepped part of the clamping plate 6 is a ring of elastic material, e.g. Plastic. This ring serves as a counter bearing for the clamping part 3.
In FIG. 4, the clamping plate 6 - as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 - is shown enlarged. Fig. 5 shows a view of the clamping plate from the opposite side GE. In addition to the projection 7, FIG. 4 also shows a gradation of the clamping plate along its left-pointing edge. In FIG. 5, this gradation can also be clearly seen if it is shown here with solid lines. The gradation is designed in such a way that the overhead part 6 ′ runs in a straight line and thus forms a straight counter-bearing for the clamping part 3. Fig. 5 also shows how a ring 9 made of elastic material, e.g. Plastic around the gradation of the clamping plate 6 can be placed.
The ring 9 is relatively loose on the gradation, so that it can be easily moved ver. On the clamping plate 6 the edge projection is opposite to the gradation, e.g. at 6 ', about as wide as the ring 9. The ring is thereby held fast and cannot glide down from the clamping plate, but this arrangement allows the ring to slip on the stepped surface.
3 shows in cross section the gap between the wall of the gripper head 1 and the projection 7 of the clamping plate 6. The clamping plate is arranged laterally parallel to the wall of the gripper head 1. In the section, the gradation 6 'can clearly be seen around which the ring 9 is wrapped. In the gap between the wall of the Grei ferkopfes 1 and the projection 7 on the clamping plate 6, the clamping part 3 of the clamping device is movable up and down, as indicated by the direction of the arrow.
The ring 9 serving as a counter bearing for the clamping part 3 is - as can be readily seen - very easy to apply and, above all, can be readjusted without great difficulty if damage should have occurred at any point. For this, as already mentioned above, it is not necessary to remove the clamping plate 6.
The advantage of the arrangement described is obvious. If after a long period of operation - as mentioned above - damage to the terminal point occurs, it is sufficient if the relatively loose ring lying on the step is simply pushed a little further ver. It is only necessary to use a pointed object, e.g. a needle to push the ring further. A very small piece is sufficient for this to immediately hold a usable counter bearing for the clamping part. No plate and no clamping plate need to be removed from the gripper head for this.
The service life of the elastic counter-bearing is many times greater than the previously known solution, because the entire plastic part no longer has to be replaced in the event of a single damage, but a large number of damage can be present on the ring before it becomes unusable.
