Container with lid
Known large garbage containers, including the associated hinged lid, are usually made of sheet steel and are galvanized in a full bath. For this purpose, to achieve the required stability of the container during use as well as for galvanizing in a full bath, a relatively thick sheet metal must be selected, which has the disadvantage that the operation of the hinged lid when filling the container is quite difficult.
In order to remedy this situation, various measures have already been proposed which aim to facilitate the handling of the lid, such as subdividing the lid into several individual fields, installing a smaller filler cover in the middle field of the end cover of the container or the extension a lever system that can be actuated by a spring tensioner, which has to be attached to the container for filling and removed again to empty it into a collection truck. However, in order to be able to dispense with such measures described above, the present invention pursues the goal of creating a container whose lid can be easily opened for the purpose of opening and which also enables the container to be handled in the removal system that saves on labor in the sense of rationalization .
The container provided with a lid, in particular a large garbage container, is therefore characterized according to the invention in that at least one spring element is installed under pretension in the area of a lid hinge of the container in such a way that the weight of the closed lid outweighs the spring force acting in the opening direction, and that for the The ends of the suspension element assigned to the lid and the container are provided with stops that limit the suspension travel of the latter when the lid is opened in such a way that the lid remains free in a predetermined open position, but can be folded back completely without hindrance for the purpose of emptying the container. The suspension element preferably consists of a helical spring through which the hinge pin of the hinge extends.
The helical spring can be arranged in a housing formed from a tubular bent hinge part, so that it is enclosed and protected on the outside, which reduces the risk of injury when reaching into it unintentionally, but it is also possible that the or several springs on which the hinge hinge bolts protruding on one or both sides are arranged.
It is also possible for the suspension element to be a torsion bar which is installed under pretension and which at the same time forms the hinge pin. Furthermore, means are expediently provided in order to be able to change the bias of the suspension element, which allows an adaptation to differences in the lid weight, and furthermore means can also be expediently provided to change the suspension travel of the suspension element, which is limited by stops, so that the suspension travel a certain pivoting angle of the lid is given, in which it remains free, so that the inclination of the freely open lid can be changed with the help of these means. With the preferred use of light metal or plastic for the cover, a construction which is favorable in terms of dimensioning and fastening of the suspension elements can be achieved.
Further details and advantages of the invention emerge from the description and the drawings, in which an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown purely by way of example. Show it:
1 shows the lid hinge for the container in side view with the lid closed,
Fig. 2 is a plan view of the lid hinge ge according to Fig. 1,
3 shows the lid hinge in a side view with the lid open and free in the position shown,
4 shows the lid hinge in a side view with the lid completely folded back.
In FIGS. 1 to 4, the cover hinge, generally designated 10, is shown schematically, with the aid of which the cover 11, shown broken off in all figures, is articulated to the container container 12 also shown broken off. The pivot axis is formed by the hinge pin 13, which extends through the helical spring 14 surrounding it.
The hinge pin 13 is mounted in a part 15 of the hinge fixed to the container at both ends, while the movable hinge part 16 fastened on the top of the cover 11 in the. Area of the hinge pin is formed into a housing 17 which partially encloses the spring on the outside and which encloses the spring in the form of a sleeve about 8/4 of the circumference, the free end edge 18 forming a stop which, when the lid is pivoted open, when the position is reached 3 abuts against the end 14a of the helical spring 14, so that the spring, which in the position according to FIG. 1 is supported with the spring end 14a on the container edge and with the other spring end 14b on the lid 11, only moves when the lid is opened can relax up to the position shown in FIG.
During this pivoting movement from the position according to FIG. 1 to the position according to FIG. 3, the spring 14 acts in the sense that the lid can be lifted effortlessly, the lid remaining free in the position according to FIG. 3 because the spring is attached to it is prevented from further relaxing. The spring is installed with bias against the stop 18 adjacent.
In order to empty the container into a collection truck, the lid must be folded back all the way, as shown in FIG. 4. The spring end 14a remains in contact with the stop 18 during the further pivoting movement, without the spring being able to relax any further, which rotates around the hinge pin 13 when the cover is opened.
For the sake of simplifying the illustration, FIG. 3 shows a means for changing the spring travel of the spring 14 in that the stop 18 is formed by an adjusting screw which is screwed into a bent end edge of the tubular housing 17 or in one on the edge of the housing welded nut can be screwed on and off, whereby the relaxation angle of the spring can be changed ver. As a result of this change, the cover can be freely open, more or less inclined.
Furthermore, it can be seen in Fig. 3 that the spring end 14b, which is bent over to form an eyelet, rests against the head of a slotted screw 19 screwed into the movable hinge part 16, so that the screw is pushed in or out a little further by means of a screwdriver passed through the eyelet can be unscrewed, whereby the preload of the spring can be changed.
In order to be able to keep the coil springs described above, which can be replaced by torsion bars (not shown here), within appropriate dimensions, the lid of the container is not made of sheet steel, as was previously the case, but of light metal or plastic. The lower strength of this material can be compensated for by appropriate profiling of both the cover surface and the outer edge of the same. The entry of water into the closed container can be reliably prevented by a drip edge 20 of the lid that is guided down over the upper edge of the container.
