Description

Safety ski binding for walking
The present invention relates to a safety ski binding for walking, comprising a plate intended to be fixed to the boot, means for blocking the heel on the plate and a front stop secured to the plate.
Until now, no satisfactory solution has been found which makes it possible to use a safety ski binding either for descent or for walking. The aim of the invention is to provide such a fastening making it possible to remedy the drawbacks encountered hitherto in fasteners of this type.
The binding according to the invention is characterized by a front retaining device for the plate on the ski arranged so as to allow this plate to pivot about a transverse axis when the binding is used for walking, and to release this plate in the event of twisting and rear fall, and by a plate safety locking device at the rear of the plate for the lowering position.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example and schematically, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side elevational view of the safety ski binding in the engaged position.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of this binding.
Fig. 3 is a view similar to FIG. 2 in the tripped position.
Fig. 4 is a view similar to FIG. 1 in the on position.
Fig. 5 is a view similar to FIG. 1 in the rear fall triggered position.
The safety ski binding shown comprises a plate 1 intended to be fixed to the boot 2. Blocking means shown diagrammatically at 3 serve to block the heel of the boot 2 on the plate 1. At the front of this plate 1 is provided a fixed stopper 4 for the front end of the sole of the boot 2.
A front retaining device for the plate 1 is shown in the form of a stop body generally designated 5. This body is pivoted at its front end and carries two parallel side levers 6, also pivoted at their front end. and biased laterally towards each other by a spring 7 adjustable in position along the levers 6 by a screw 8. The rear ends of the levers 6 are engaged on lateral pivots 9 integral with the plate 1. In the position shown in fig. 2, the plate 1 is retained at the front by the pivots 9 and at the rear by a retaining device 10. This plate can pivot at the front about a transverse axis passing through the pivots 9 as shown in FIG. fig. 4 when the rear retainer 10 is released, allowing the binding to be used for walking.
In the event of twisting, the plate 1 can be released from the retainer 5 as shown in FIG. 3. A link 11 holds the ski to the boot in the event of a fall and triggering of the device 5.
The plate 1 is further connected to the retaining device 5 by a hooking member shown at 12 in the form of a hook fixed to a spring 13, this hook engaging a projection 14 of the plate 1 ( fig. 5).
In the event of a rear fall, the plate 1 is lifted at the front and is released from the hook 12 as shown in FIG. 5. The plate 1 is therefore released from the retaining device 5 allowing the boot to disengage from the ski.
In the case of an axial fall forward, it is the heel blocking means 3 which yield against the tension of the spring 3 'and allow the plate 1, and consequently the boot 2, to disengage from the ski.
